Step Four
Removing Battery Insulation Strip
Your radio comes with an insulation strip to
protectthebatteries.Youmustremoveitbefore
using the radio.
1. Use a coin to turn and remove the battery
compartment cover from the back of the
radio.
2. Remove the insulation stripfrom between
the batteries, and then replace the cover.
Using the Radio
1. Turnon/off on the back of the radio to on.
2. Press RESET to ensure the radio starts from thelowest frequency
(FM 88MHz).
3. RepeatedlypressSCAN toselectyourdesiredstation.Whennostations
are clearly tuned, the radio may scan to the highest frequency(FM 108
MHz). Press RESET to re-startfrom the lowest frequency.
4. Adjust the volume to a comfortable listening level.
5. Turnon/off to off to turn off the radio.
Listening Safely
Toprotectyourhearing,followthese guidelines
when you use earbuds.
• Set the volume to the lowest setting before
you begin listening. After you begin
listening, adjust the volume to a
comfortable level.
• Do not listen at extremely high volume
levels. Extended high-volume listening can
lead to permanent hearing loss.
• Once you set the volume, do not increase
it.Overtime,yourearsadapttothevolume
level,soavolumelevelthatdoesnotcause
discomfort might still damage your hearing.
Traffic Safety
• Do notwear earbuds whileoperating a
motor vehicle or riding a bicycle. This can
create atraffic hazard and could beillegal
in some areas.
• Even though someearbuds let you hear
some outside sounds when listening at
normal volume levels, they still can present
a traffic hazard.

Using the Belt Clip
You can clip the radio on your belt using the
attached belt clip on the back of the radio for
easy carrying.
Using the Beads
Adjust the two beads on the earbud cables to
weartheradiolikeanecklace.Positionthefirst
bead as close as possible to the radio so the
earbud cables are not damaged. Position the
second bead as you like to make the loop size
as desired.
Volume Control

Replacing Batteries
Your radio comes with twoLR44 button cell batteries. When the radio's sound becomes
weak orthe radio stops operating properly, replacethe batteries.
1. Use a coin to turn and remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Place two LR44 button cell batteries into the compartment, positive side (+) face up.
3. Replace the cover.

same or similar design; or (c) refund the purchase price. All replaced parts and products, and products on which a
refund is made, become the property of RadioShack. New or reconditioned parts and products may be used in the
performance of warranty service. Repaired or replaced parts and products are warranted for the remainder of the
original warranty period. You will be charged for repair or replacement of the product made after the expiration of
the warranty period.

Keep the radio dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry
immediately. Use and store the radio only in
room temperature environments.Handle the
radio carefully; do not drop it. Keep the radio
away from dust and dirt, and wipe it with a
damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.

Swallowing a button-cell battery can be fatal.
• Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly.
• Do not burn or bury batteries.
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and
recommended type.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, or different
types of batteries
• If you do not plan to use the radio for a month or
more, remove the batteries. Batteries can leak
chemicals that can damage electronic parts.
