Immediately call your gas supplier from a eighbor’s pho e. Follow the gas supplier’s i structio s.
If you ca ot reach your gas supplier, call the fire departme t.
I stallatio a d service must be performed by a qualified i staller, service age cy or the gas supplier.
WARNING: Gas leaks ca ot always be detected by smell.
Gas suppliers recomme d that you use a gas detector approved by UL or CSA.
If a gas leak is detected, follow the “What to do if smell gas” i structio s above.

WARNING: NEVER use this applia ce as a space heater to heat or warm the room. Doi g so may

CAUTION: Do ot store items of i terest to childre i cabi ets above the cooktop – childre
climbi g o the cooktop to reach items could be seriously i jured.
Proper i stallatio – The cooktop, whe i stalled, must be electrically grou ded i accorda ce with
local codes or, i the abse ce of local codes, with the Natio al Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA70 or the
Ca adia Electrical Code, Part 1, be sure the cooktop is properly i stalled a d grou ded by a
qualified tech icia .

This cooktop is equipped with a three-pro g grou di g plug for your protectio agai st shock hazard
a d should be plugged directly i to a properly grou ded receptacle. Do ot cut of remove the
grou di g pro g from this plug.
Disco ect the electrical supply before servici g the cooktop.
I juries may result from the misuse of the cooktop such as steppi g, lea i g, or sitti g o the top
surface.

IM ORTANT: This applia ce is desig ed a d ma ufactured solely for the cooki g of domestic
(household) food a d is ot suitable for a y o domestic applicatio a d therefore CANNOT be
used i a commercial e viro me t.
The applia ce guara tee will be void if the applia ce is used withi a o domestic e viro me t
i.e. a semi commercial, commercial or commu al e viro me t.
WARNING:
The applia ce must be isolated from the gas supply pipi g system by closi g its i dividual ma u-
al shutoff valve duri g a y pressure testi g of the gas supply pipi g system at test pressures equal
to or less tha 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa).

INSTALLATION
I stallatio a d service must be co ducted by qualified / lice sed tech icia , i accorda ce with
atio al & local regulatio . Failure to comply will void the product warra ty.
Always disco ect the applia ce power before i stallatio & mai te a ce.
These cooktops are desig ed to be dropped i to cou ter top measuri g >24 i ches i
depth.
Please use the “Cutti g size board” (cardboard packed i the box) to outli e & cut hole i
cou ter top.
Cleara ce betwee the u der eath of u it a d a y surface below it should be at least 1
i ch (~30mm). If there is applia ce be eath the u it a heat baffle is recomme ded i
betwee .
The cooker top must be kept o less tha 4 i ches away from a y side wall; the hob must
be i stalled at least 50 mm from the wall.
There must be a dista ce of at least 650mm (25.6 i ches) betwee the cooktop a d a y
wall cupboard or extractor hood positio ed immediately above.

INSTALLATION IN KITCHEN CABINET WITH DOOR (Fig.2)
It is recomme ded that a 30 mm cleara ce be left betwee the cooker top a d the fixture surface
(Fig.2).
Note: The adjace t fur iture a d all materials used i i stallatio must be able to withsta d a
mi imum of 85°C above the ambie t temperature. However certai types of vi yl or lami ate

kitche fur iture are particularly pro e to heat damage or discoloratio at temperatures below
85°C.
DISCHARGING RODUCTS OF COMBUSTION
Extractor hoods co ected directly to the outside should be provided, to allow the products of
combustio of the cooktop to be discharged (fig.3), (fig.4).

SETTLING THE HOB FOR INSTALLATION
Every cooktop is provided with a set of tabs for fitti g to the u it with thick ess from 3 to 4 cm,
a d a seal with adhesive o o e side.
Remove bur ers a d grids.
Tur the cooktop over a d rest the top side o a cloth.
Apply the self-adhesive seal “G” as illustrated i fig.5.
Slot the cooktop i to the u it a d positio .
Positio the cooktop i the recess a d secure by mea s of the brackets as show i
fig.6 (for 3 or 4 cm thick work top).

A cardboard with cut out hole size is packed i each box. Please use it to outli e & cut hole i the
cou ter top. Do ot attempt to cut the hole before you received the u it & measure its cut out
size.

CONNECT THE COOKTO TO GAS
Shut off the mai gas supply valve before disco ecti g the old cooktop a d leave it off u til the
ew hook-up has bee completed. Do ’t forget to relight the pilot o other gas applia ces whe
you tur the gas back o .
Never use a old co ector whe i stalli g a ew cooktop.
CONVERTING TO L GAS (or converting to natural gas from L )
This cooktop leaves the factory set for use with atural gas or LP gas. Please read carefully i the
rati g label i formatio to co firm this.
ROVIDE ADEQUATE GAS SU LY
Your cooktop is desig ed to operate at a pressure of 5” of water colum o atural gas or,
if desig ed for LP gas (propo e or buta e), 10” of water colum .
Make sure you are supplyi g your cooktop with the type of gas for which it’s desig ed.
This cooktop is co vertible for use o ature or propa e gas. If you decide to use this
cooktop o LP gas, co versio must be made by a qualified LP i staller before
attempti g to operate the cooktop o that gas.
For proper operatio , the pressure of atural gas supplier to the regulator must betwee
5” a d 13” of water colum . For LP gas, the pressure supplied must be betwee 10” a d
13” of water colum .
Whe checki g for proper operatio of this regulator, the i let pressure must be at least
1” greater tha the operati g pressure as give above.
A flexible metal applia ce co ector used to co ect the cooktop to the gas supply li e
should have a I.D. of 1/2” a d be 5 feet i le gth for ease of i stallatio . I Ca ada,
flexible co ectors must be si gle wall metal co ectors o lo ger tha 6 feet i le gth.

ADA TING THE COOKTO FOR DIFFERENT TY ES OF GAS
To adapt the cooktop to a different type of gas than that for which it was desig ed,
(see the sticker u der the hob or o the package), the bur er ozzles must be cha ged, as follows:
Remove the pa supports a d slide the bur ers out of the cooktop.
U screw the ozzles usi g a 7mm socket wre ch a d replace them with those for the ew
type of gas.
Reassemble the parts followi g the i structio s i reverse order.
O completi g the operatio , replace the old rati g label with the o e showi g the ew
type of gas; the sticker is available from our SERVICE CENTRES.
If the gas pressure is different than that prescribed, a pressure regulator must be installed
at the source, in compliance with national standards government the use of piped gas
regulators.
To complete the conversion, follow up below,
A) Replaceme t of the bur er i jectors
B) Regulatio of the bur er flame level
C) Leak test
A) Replacement of the burner injectors
I side the box there is o e pair of gas bur er jets for opposite gas type, sealed i a small bag.
Remove the grati gs a d the bur er covers;
Usi g a wre ch, substitute the ozzle i jectors; “J” (Fig.8)
with the pair provided i the small bag.
B) Regulation of the burner flame level
Regulatio of the bur er flame level; whe switchi g from o e type of gas to a other, the
mi imum flow rate must be adjusted so the flame should ot go out. To regulate the flame follow;
Light up the bur er

Tur the k ob to mi imum level
The adjustme t screw is located i the ce ter of the shaft (fig.9). Please remove/pull out the
co trol k ob to access it.
Usi g a screwdriver with max. Diameter 3 mm, tur the screw i side the tap u til the
correct setti g is obtai ed.
C) Leakage Test
To prevent gas leaks, put pipe joi t compou d o , or wrap pipe thread tape with Teflo arou d,
all male (exter al) pipe threads.
I stall a ma ual gas li e shut-off valve i the gas li e i a easily accessed locatio
outside of the ra ge. Make sure everyo e operati g the ra ge k ows where a d how to
shut off the gas supply to the cooktop.
I stall male 1/2” flare u io adapter to the 1/2” NPT i ter al thread at i let of regulator.
Use a backup wre ch o the regulator fitti g to avoid damage.
Whe i stalli g the ra ge from the fro t, remove the 90° elbow for easier i stallatio .
I stall male 1/2” or 3/4” flare u io adapter to the NPT i ter al thread of the ma ual
shut-off valve, taki g care to back-up the shut-off valve to keep it from tur i g.
Co ect flexible metal applia ce co ector to the adapter o the cooktop. Positio
cooktop to permit co ectio at the shut-off valve.
Whe all co ectio s have bee made, make sure all cooktop co trols are i the off
positio a d tur o the mai gas supply valve. Use a liquid leak detector at all joi ts a d
co ectio s to check for leaks i the system.
WARNING: FIRE HAZARD: DO NOT use a flame to check for gas leaks.
Whe usi g test pressures greater tha 1/2 psig to pressure test the gas supply system of
the reside ce, disco ect the cooktop a d i dividual shut-off valve from the gas supply
