1 Einleitung
Sehr geehrte Kundin, sehr geehrter Kunde,
mit Ihrem neuen VarioSmoker erhält Ihr
Gargut eine natürliche Räuchernote, die
Sie je nach Geschmack selbst bestimmen –
ganz ohne Räucherofen.
Bitte lesen Sie die Betriebsanleitung vor
der ersten Inbetriebnahme aufmerksam
durch. Die Betriebsanleitung ermöglicht
einen sicheren Umgang mit dem Gerät.
Bewahren Sie diese Betriebsanleitung so
auf, dass sie für das Bedienpersonal des
Gerätes jederzeit zugänglich ist.
1.1 Inspiration
Laden Sie sich das Handbuch für die Spezi-

chern von Gargut in Combi-Dämpfern von
RATIONAL entwickelt.
Dieses Gerät darf nur gewerblich genutzt
werden, zum Beispiel in Restaurantküchen
und Groß- und Gewerbeküchen von Kran-
kenhäusern, Bäckereien oder Metzgereien.
Jeder andere Gebrauch gilt als nicht be-
stimmungsgemäß und gefährlich. Die
RATIONAL AG übernimmt keine Haftung
aus Folgen nicht bestimmungsgemäßem
Gebrauchs.

Sicherheitshinweise
Das Gerät ist sicher konstruiert und stellt
bei normalem, vorschriftsmäßigem Ge-
brauch keine Gefahr dar. Der richtige Um-
gang für den Gebrauch des Gerätes wird in
dieser Anleitung beschrieben.
Sicherheitshinweise vor dem Gebrauch
nVerwenden Sie den VarioSmoker
nicht, wenn er beschädigt ist. Ein be-
schädigter VarioSmoker ist nicht si-
cher und kann Verletzungen und Brand
verursachen.
nVerwenden Sie das Netzteil nicht,
wenn es beschädigt ist. Ein beschädig-
tes Netzteil ist nicht sicher und kann
Stromschläge verursachen.
nStellen Sie das Netzteil des VarioSmo-
kers nicht auf das Gerät und nicht in
den Garraum.
nSchließen Sie den VarioSmoker nur an
Netzspannungen an, die den }Techni-
sche Daten entsprechen.
nStecken Sie den Stecker des Netzka-
bels nur in eine Steckdose mit Schut-
zerde.
nStellen Sie sicher, dass niemand über
das Netzkabel stolpern kann.
Sicherheitshinweise während des
Gebrauchs
So vermeiden Sie Sachschaden, Verletzun-
gen oder tödliche Unfälle:
nVerwenden Sie den VarioSmoker nur
innerhalb des Garraums eines Combi-
Dämpfers.
nLegen Sie den Stecker des Versor-
gungskabels niemals in den Garraum.
nVerwenden Sie den VarioSmoker nur
in einem Combi-Dämpfer, der unter
einem eingeschalteten Abluftsystem
betrieben wird.
nVerwenden Sie den VarioSmoker
nicht, wenn nur ein Umluftsystem wie
die UltraVent oder die UltraVent Plus
zur Verfügung steht.
nStellen Sie sicher, dass das Netzteil fest
mit der Halterung verbunden ist. Wei-

So vermeiden Sie Brandgefahr:
nVerwenden Sie zum Räuchern nur han-
delsübliche Holzspäne und Holzpellets.

nTränken Sie Räuchermaterial nicht mit
Alkohol.
nÖffnen Sie nicht die Garraumtür wäh-
rend Sie Gargut räuchern.
nStarten Sie nicht die Cool-Down-
Funktion während Sie Gargut räu-
chern. Bei hohen Lüfterstufen kann es
zu Funkenflug kommen und das Räu-
chergut zu schnell abbrennen.
So vermeiden Sie Verbrühungen und Ver-
brennungen:
nTragen Sie Ihre persönliche Schutzaus-
rüstung, wenn Sie den VarioSmoker,
Gargut oder Gegenstände aus dem
heißen Garraum nehmen. Der VarioS-
moker kann über 60°C heiß werden.
Sicherheitshinweise nach dem Gebrauch
nÖffnen Sie die Garraumtür nach dem
Gebrauch vorsichtig. Heißer Dampf
kann austreten.
nÖffnen Sie den Deckel des heißen Va-
rioSmokers vorsichtig. Heißer Dampf
kann austreten.

nLagern Sie keine leicht entzündlichen
Stoffe in der Nähe des heißen VarioS-
mokers.
nReinigen Sie den VarioSmoker nach je-
dem Gebrauch.
nReinigen Sie die Dichtung der Gar-
raumtür mit lauwarmem Wasser, ei-
nem milden Reinigungsmittel und ei-
nem weichen Tuch nachdem Sie Gar-
gut geräuchert haben. So entfernen Sie
störende Gerüche.
nTrennen Sie das Netzteil des VarioS-
mokers bei längeren Standzeiten vom
Stromnetz.
2.1 Persönliche Schutzausrüstung
nTragen Sie bei der Arbeit mit dem Ge-
rät nur Kleidung, durch die ein Arbeits-
unfall, insbesondere durch Hitze, Sprit-
zer von heißen Flüssigkeiten oder ät-
zende Stoffe, nicht verursacht werden
kann.
nTragen Sie Schutzhandschuhe, um sich
zuverlässig für den Umgang mit heißen
Gegenständen und scharfkantigen
Blechteilen zu schützen.
nTragen Sie bei Reinigungsarbeiten eine
enganliegende Schutzbrille und Che-
mikalien-Schutzhandschuhe, um sich
zuverlässig für den Umgang mit Pfle-
gemitteln zu schützen.

Das Funktionsteil, an das Sie die Halterung
des Netzteils kleben, muss sauber, fettfrei
und trocken sein.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass die volle Klebkraft
erst nach 3 Tagen erreicht ist.
1. Nehmen Sie den VarioSmoker aus der
Verpackung und entfernen Sie alle
schützenden Plastikfolien und Verpa-
ckungsmaterialien.
2. Reinigen Sie die Seitenwand des Ge-
räts mit dem beigelegten Reinigungs-
tuch oder mit einem weichen Tuch und
handelsüblichem, fettlösendem Reini-
gungsmittel (A).
3. Entfernen Sie am oberen Teil der Hal-
terung den Schutzstreifen des Klebe-
bands und kleben Sie die Halterung
oben auf das Gerät (B).
4. Hängen Sie den unteren Teil der Halte-
rung in den oberen Teil der Halterung
(C).
5. Stellen Sie das Netzteil in die Halte-
rung und befestigen Sie es mit den
beiliegenden Schrauben (D).
6. Entfernen Sie am Netzteil die Schutz-
abdeckung des Anschlusses für das
Versorgungskabel.
7. Stecken Sie den Stecker des Versor-
gungskabels in den Anschluss am
Netzteil.
8. Stecken Sie das Netzteil in die Halte-
rung.
9. Stecken Sie den Stecker des Netzka-
bels in eine Netzsteckdose. VOR-
SICHT!Sturzgefahr! Verlegen Sie das
Netzkabel so, dass niemand darüber
stolpern kann.
>> Wenn der Netzschalter leuchtet, ist der
VarioSmoker eingeschaltet. Wenn Sie
nicht sofort Lebensmittel räuchern
möchten, schalten Sie den VarioSmo-
ker am Netzteil aus. Sie können jetzt
mit dem VarioSmoker räuchern.
5 Intelligente Garpfade
Führen Sie die folgenden zusätzlichen
Schritte durch, wenn Ihr Gerät ein iCombi
Pro ist und Sie die intelligenten Garpfade,
die dem VarioSmoker zugeordnet sind,
nutzen möchten.
1. Entfernen Sie am Netzteil die Schutz-
abdeckung des Anschlusses für das
USB-Kabel.
2. Verbinden Sie den USB-Stecker mit
dem Netzteil und dem USB-Anschluss
des Geräts.

>> Das Gerät erkennt den VarioSmoker.
Auf dem Startbildschirm wird das Räu-
chern als zusätzliches Garverfahren an-
gezeigt: Wenn sie diese Taste
drücken, werden alle intelligenten Gar-
pfade angezeigt, die dem Garverfahren
zugeordnet sind.

GEFAHR
Entstehung von gefährlichen Gasen
beim Räuchern von Lebensmitteln
Wenn Sie den VarioSmoker in einem
Combi-Dämpfer betreiben, der unter
einem ausgeschalteten Abluftsystem
steht, besteht Erstickungsgefahr durch
das Einatmen gefährlicher Gase.
nVerwenden Sie den VarioSmoker nur
in einem Combi-Dämpfer, der unter
einem eingeschalteten Abluftsystem
betrieben wird.
6.1 Räuchermaterial
nVerwenden Sie nur handelsübliche
Holzspäne oder Holzpellets.
nVerwenden Sie keine staubenden Ma-
terialien wie Sägemehl oder Holzmehl.
nTränken Sie Räuchermaterial nicht mit
Alkohol.
nWenn Sie Räuchermaterial wässern,
verlängert sich das Vorheizen des Va-
rioSmokers. Die Räucherzeit wird da-
durch nicht verlängert.
6.2 Lebensmittel räuchern
1. Öffnen Sie den Deckel und füllen Sie
Räuchermaterial in den VarioSmoker.
2. Schließen Sie den Deckel. VOR-
SICHT!Brandgefahr! Wenn sich der
Deckel des VarioSmokers nicht schlie-
ßen lässt, kann sich das Räuchermate-
rial entzünden und das Gerät in Brand
setzen.
3. Öffnen Sie die Garraumtür.
4. Schieben Sie einen Gastro-Norm-Be-
hälter in die oberste oder unterste Ein-
schubebene und stellen Sie den Va-
rioSmoker darauf. Wenn Sie das Gerät
mit der maximalen Beladungsmenge
beschicken möchten, stellen Sie den
VarioSmoker auf die unterste Einschu-
bebene.
5. Wenn Sie die unterste Einschubebene
verwenden, schieben Sie einen weite-
ren Gastro-Norm-Behälter über den
VarioSmoker, damit er nicht von her-
abtropfendem Fett verschmutzt wird.
6. Verbinden Sie den VarioSmoker mit
dem Netzteil.
7. Schließen Sie die Garraumtür.
Manuelle Betriebsart
1. Schalten Sie den VarioSmoker mit dem
Netzschalter ein.
>> Der VarioSmoker heizt auf und der
Räucherprozess beginnt.

Intelligente Betriebsart
1. Schalten Sie den VarioSmoker mit dem
Netzschalter ein.

Auf dem Startbildschirm wird das Räu-
chern als zusätzliches Garverfahren an-
gezeigt:
2. Drücken Sie die Taste, um alle intelli-
genten Garpfade anzuzeigen:
3. Starten Sie den gewünschten Garpfad.
>> Der VarioSmoker wird automatisch
während des Garpfades angesteuert.
Wenn Sie während des Betriebs das
USB-Kabel vom Netzteil ziehen, wird
im Display eine Meldung angezeigt
und es erklingt ein Warnton. Der intel-
ligente Garpfad läuft weiter, der Räu-
cherprozess des VarioSmoker wird je-
doch unterbrochen. Verbinden Sie den
USB-Stick wieder mit dem Netzteil.
Der Räucherprozess wird automatisch
fortgesetzt.
Räucherprozess beendet
1. Schalten Sie den VarioSmoker am
Netzschalter aus.
2. Ziehen Sie das Versorgungskabel vom
Netzteil ab.
3. Öffnen Sie die Garraumtür.
4. WARNUNG!Verbrennungsgefahr!
Wenn Sie mit dem VarioSmoker Gar-
gut geräuchert haben, ist der VarioS-
moker sehr heiß. Fassen Sie den hei-
ßen VarioSmoker nur mit Schutz-
handschuhen an. Nehmen Sie den Va-
rioSmoker aus dem Gerät und stellen
Sie ihn auf eine feuerfeste Unterlage.
5. Lassen Sie den VarioSmoker abkühlen.
6. WARNUNG!Wenn Sie heiße Asche in
Behältern entsorgen die nicht feuer-
fest sind, besteht Brandgefahr. Lassen
Sie die heiße Asche abkühlen. Entsor-
gen Sie Asche nur in feuerfesten Be-
hältern. Öffnen Sie den Deckel und
entsorgen Sie die Asche.
TIPP
nUm einen bitteren Geschmack der
geräucherten Lebensmittel zu ver-
meiden, wählen Sie eine Garraum-
temperatur von maximal 150°C.
nWenn das Gargut nach Ablauf der
Zeit nicht das gewünschte Garergeb-
nis erreicht hat, entsorgen Sie die
Asche, füllen Sie neues Räuchermate-
rial nach und setzen Sie das Räuchern
des Gargutes fort.
nSie können die Räucherzeit verlän-
gern, indem Sie das Gargut im Rauch
bei geschlossener Garraumtür halten.

Abgelagerte Fett- oder
Lebensmittelreste im Garraum
Wenn Sie den VarioSmoker nicht
ausreichend reinigen, besteht
Brandgefahr durch abgelagerte Fett-
oder Lebensmittelreste.
nReinigen Sie den VarioSmoker nach
jedem Gebrauch.
7.1 Pflegeprodukte
Geeignete Pflegeprodukte
nReinigen Sie den VarioSmoker mit ei-
nem handelsüblichen, fettlösenden
Reinigungsmittel und einen weichen
Reinigungsschwamm.
nSprühen Sie stark verschmutzte Stellen
mit einem wasserlöslichen Entfet-
tungsmittel ein und lassen Sie diese
einwirken.
Ungeeignete Pflegeprodukte
Reinigen Sie das Zubehör nicht mit den
folgenden, ungeeigneten Pflegeprodukten:
nScheuernde Reinigungsmittel
nSalzsäure, Lauge, schwefelhaltigen
Stoffen oder andere sauerstoffver-
brauchende Stoffe
nUnverdünnter Alkohol, Methanol oder
Lösungsmitteln wie Aceton, Benzol,
Toluol oder Xylol
nBackofenreiniger oder Grillreiniger
nStahlwolle
nHochdruckreiniger
nScharfe oder spitze Werkzeuge
nReinigen Sie den VarioSmoker nicht im
Garraum.
nReinigen Sie den VarioSmoker nicht
mit der automatischen Reinigung des
Gerätes.
Ungeeignete Reinigungsmittel können zu
Beschädigungen des VarioSmokers führen.
7.2 VarioSmoker reinigen
VORSICHT
Der VarioSmoker wird während des
Betriebs heiß
Wenn Sie den heißen VarioSmoker
reinigen, besteht Verbrennungsgefahr.
nLassen Sie den VarioSmoker
abkühlen, bevor Sie
Reinigungsarbeiten durchführen.
nKühlen Sie den VarioSmoker nicht
mit der Handbrause ab.
aSie haben die Asche in einem feuerfes-
ten Behälter entsorgt.
1. Schalten Sie den VarioSmoker mit dem
Netzschalter aus.
2. Trennen Sie den VarioSmoker vom
Netzteil.
3. Entfernen Sie das Einlegeblech mit Hil-
fe der Entnahmelasche.
4. Sprühen Sie den VarioSmoker mit han-
delsüblichen, fettlösenden Reinigungs-
mitteln ein und entfernen Sie alle Fett-
und Lebensmittelreste mit einem
Schwamm.
5. Entfernen Sie alle Reinigungsmittel
und lassen Sie den VarioSmoker voll-
ständig trocknen.

1 Introduction
Dear customer,
Your new VarioSmoker will lend your food
a natural smoked flavor, giving you total
control over the results without the need
for a separate appliance.
Please read this user’s manual through
carefully before powering up your appli-
ance for the first time. This manual con-
tains important information on how to op-
erate the appliance safely. Keep this man-
ual in a place where it will be accessible to
users at all times.

1.3 Target audience
This document is written for people work-
ing in professional kitchens and food-ser-
vice operations. Make sure that personnel
undergo regular safety training, and that
they are trained in proper use of this appli-
ance.
Children, people with impaired physical,
sensory, or mental capacity, and people
lacking experience and knowledge may
only use the appliance under the following
circumstances:

1.4 Intended use
This VarioSmoker was designed for smok-
ing foods in RATIONAL combi-steamers.
This unit is only intended for commercial
use, such as in restaurant kitchens or cater-
ing operations for schools, hospitals, or
delis.
Any other use runs counter to its intended
purpose, and could be dangerous. RATIO-
NAL AG assumes no liability for conse-
quences of improper use.
The VarioSmoker can be used in the fol-

2 General safety information
This unit is constructed securely, and does
not pose a danger when used normally and
in accordance with specifications. These
instructions for use describe proper proce-
dures for using this unit.
Safety instructions before use
nDo not use the VarioSmoker if it is
damaged. Damaged VarioSmokers are
not safe and can cause injuries or fire.
nDo not use the power supply unit if it
is damaged. Damaged power supply
units are not safe and can cause elec-
tric shocks.
nDo not place the VarioSmoker's power
supply unit atop the cooking system or
inside the cooking cabinet.
nOnly connect the VarioSmoker to
mains voltages that meet the }Techni-
cal data.
nOnly plug the mains cable plug into a
socket with protective earthing.

nMake sure that nobody can trip over
the mains cable.
Safety instructions during use
To avoid property damage, injury or death:
nOnly use the VarioSmoker inside the
cooking cabinet of a combi-steamer.
nNever place the power supply cable
plug inside the cooking cabinet.
nOnly use the VarioSmoker in a combi-
steamer operated below an active ex-
traction system.
nDo not use the VarioSmoker if only
one air circulation system such as the
UltraVent or the UltraVent Plus is
available.
nMake sure that the power supply unit
is connected securely with the holder.

To prevent fire risk:
nOnly use commercial wood chips and
wood pellets for smoking. More infor-
mation is available here: }Smoking
material
nDo not soak the smoking material in
alcohol.
nDo not open the cooking cabinet door
while smoking food.
nDo not start the cool down function
while smoking food. Higher ventilation
settings can cause sparks to fly, poten-
tially burning the food too quickly.
To avoid scalding and burn injuries:
nWear personal protection equipment
when you are removing the Var-
ioSmoker, food or objects from the
hot cooking cabinet. The VarioSmoker
can reach temperatures of over 60°C.
Safety instructions after use
nOpen the cooking cabinet door care-
fully after use. Hot steam may escape.
nCarefully open the lid of the hot Var-
ioSmoker. Hot steam may escape.
nDo not store any flammable sub-
stances near the hot VarioSmoker.
nClean the VarioSmoker after every use.
nClean the cooking cabinet door gasket
with lukewarm water, a mild cleaning
agent and a soft cloth after you have
smoked food. This will remove un-
pleasant smells.
nWhen the VarioSmoker will not be
used for longer periods, disconnect its
power supply unit from mains power.
2.1 Personal protective equipment
nOnly use the unit when wearing cloth-
ing that will protect you against work-
related accidents, especially due to
heat, splashing hot liquids, or corrosive
substances.
nWear gloves that will provide reliable
protection when handling hot or
sharp-edged objects.
nWhen cleaning the unit, wear tight-fit-
ting safety glasses and chemical pro-
tective gloves that will allow you to
handle cleaning products safely.

4 Assembling the VarioSmoker
Only attach the power supply unit holder
to a functional part that is clean, dry, and
free of grease.
Please note that full adhesive strength is
only achieved after 3 days.
1. Remove the VarioSmoker from the
packaging and remove all protective
plastic film and packaging materials.
2. Clean the side of the cooking system
using the cleaning cloth provided, or
with a soft cloth and commercially
available degreasing cleanser (A).
3. Remove the protective strip from the
adhesive on the top part of the
bracket, and then affix the bracket near
the top of the cooking system (B).

4. Insert the bottom part of the bracket
into the top part of the bracket (C).
5. Place the power supply unit into the
holder and secure it using the screws
provided (D).
6. Remove the protective cover to the
power supply cable connection on the
power supply unit.
7. Insert the power cable plug into the
socket on the power supply unit.
8. Place the power supply unit into the
holder.
9. Plug the mains cable plug into a mains
power socket. CAUTION!Risk of fall-
ing! Place the mains cable in such a
way that nobody can trip over it.
>> If the mains switch lights up, the Var-
ioSmoker is switched on. If you are not
planning on smoking food immedi-
ately, use the switch on the power
supply unit to switch off the Var-
ioSmoker. You can smoke with the
VarioSmoker.
5 Intelligent cooking paths
Go through these additional steps if your
appliance is an iCombi Pro and you want
to use the intelligent cooking paths as-
signed to the VarioSmoker.
1. On the power supply unit, remove the
protective cover on the USB port.
2. Connect the USB plug to the power
supply unit and to the USB port on the
unit.
>> The unit will detect the VarioSmoker.
Smoking will be added to the home
screen as an additional cooking
method: Pressing this button will
display all of the intelligent cooking
paths assigned to that cooking
method.
6 Operation
DANGER
Harmful gases can develop when
smoking food
Using a VarioSmoker in a combi-
steamer with the exhaust system
switched off could result in users
breathing in harmful gases and
potentially suffocating.
nOnly use the VarioSmoker in a
combi-steamer with the exhaust
system switched on.
6.1 Smoking material
nOnly use commercially available wood
chips or pellets.
nDo not use dusty material such as
sawdust.
nDo not douse smoking material in al-
cohol.
nAdding water to the smoking material
will mean the VarioSmoker takes
longer to preheat. It will not prolong
smoking time.
6.2 Smoking food
1. Open the cover and fill the Var-
ioSmoker with smoking material.
2. Close the cover. CAUTION!Fire haz-
ard! If the cover on the VarioSmoker
does not close properly, the smoking
material could ignite, setting the
cooking system on fire.
3. Open the cooking cabinet door.
4. Slide a Gastronorm container (hotel
pan) into the top or bottom level of the
cooking cabinet and place the Var-
ioSmoker on it. If you are planning on

loading the cooking system to maxi-
mum capacity, place the VarioSmoker
on the bottom tray level.
5. If using the bottom tray level, slide an-
other Gastronorm container over the
VarioSmoker to protect it from drip-
ping grease.
6. Connect the VarioSmoker to the
power supply unit.
7. Close the cooking cabinet door.
Manual operating mode
1. Switch the VarioSmoker on using the
power switch.
>> The VarioSmoker will preheat, and
then the smoking process will begin.
Intelligent operating mode
1. Switch the VarioSmoker on using the
power switch.
>The cooking system will detect the
VarioSmoker. Smoking will be added
to the home screen as an additional
cooking method:

intelligent cooking paths:
3. Start the path of your choice.
>> The VarioSmoker will be activated au-
tomatically during the cooking path. If
you disconnect the USB cable from the
power supply unit while the system is
in operation, a warning signal will
sound, and a message will be shown
on the display. The intelligent cooking
path will continue to run, but the Var-
ioSmoker’s smoking process will be
interrupted. Re-connect the USB stick
to the power supply unit. The smoking
process will resume automatically.
Smoking process completed
1. Switch the VarioSmoker off on the
power switch.
2. Disconnect the power cable from the
power supply unit.
3. Open the cooking cabinet door.
4. WARNING!Danger of burns! After
you have smoked food using the Var-
ioSmoker, the VarioSmoker will be
very hot. Wear protective gloves
when touching the hot VarioSmoker.
Remove the VarioSmoker from the
cooking system and place it on a non-
flammable surface.
5. Allow the VarioSmoker to cool down.
6. WARNING!Using non-fireproof con-
tainers to dispose of hot ashes could
result in a fire. Allow hot ashes to
cool. Only discard ashes into fireproof
containers. Open the cover and dis-
pose of the ashes.

TIP
nChoose a cooking cabinet tempera-
ture no higher than 150°C in order to
avoid giving the smoked food a bitter
taste.
nOnce the timer has gone off, if the
food is not yet done to your liking,
dispose of the ashes, fill the Var-
ioSmoker with new smoking mate-
rial, and continue smoking the food.
nYou can extend smoking time by
keeping the food inside the smoke-
filled cooking cabinet with the door
closed.
7 Care
WARNING
Accumulated grease or food residue in
the cooking cabinet
Failure to clean the VarioSmoker
sufficiently could result in food residue
or accumulated grease creating a fire
hazard.
nClean the VarioSmoker after each
use.
7.1 Care products
Suitable care products
nClean the VarioSmoker using a com-
mercially available degreasing cleanser
and a soft cleaning sponge.
nSpray any heavily soiled areas with a
water-soluble degreaser and let it soak
in.
Unsuitable care products
Do not use any of the following products
to clean the hood -
nScouring agents
nHydrochloric acid, lye, sulphurous sub-
stances, or other oxygen-consuming
agents
nUndiluted alcohol, methanol, or solu-
tions such as acetone, benzene,
toluene, or xylene
nOven cleaner or grill cleaner
nSteel wool
nHigh-pressure cleaning jets
nSharp or pointed tools
nDo not clean the VarioSmoker inside
the cooking cabinet.
nDo not use the unit’s automatic clean-
ing functions to clean the Var-
ioSmoker.
Unsuitable cleaning agents could damage
the VarioSmoker.
7.2 Cleaning the VarioSmoker
CAUTION
The VarioSmoker heats up during use
Cleaning the VarioSmoker when it is
still hot could cause burns.
nAllow the VarioSmoker to cool down
before cleaning it.
nDo not use the hand shower to cool
the VarioSmoker.
aStart by discarding ashes into a fire-
proof container.
1. Switch the VarioSmoker off using the
power switch.
2. Disconnect the VarioSmoker from the
power supply unit.
3. Remove the metal sheet insert using
the release tab.

4. Spray the VarioSmoker with commer-
cially available degreasing cleaner, and
then use a sponge to remove all grease
and food residue.
5. Remove all traces of the cleaning
agent, and allow the VarioSmoker to
dry completely.
8 Disposal
Old units contain recyclable materials. Dis-
pose of old units in an environmentally
safe way, through appropriate collection
systems.
