1. Former Sub-Assembly
F1 Servo Tray F2
A. Assemble F1, Servo Tray, and F2 with adhesive.
B. Proceed immediately to step 2.

2. Fuselage Former Installation

RH Fuselage Side
A. Pre-bend fuselage sides at F2 position.
B. Insert F1/Servo Tray/F2 assembly with adhesive.
C. Dry fit F3 and do not glue until LH fuselage side is installed in step 4-B.

3. Monoblock Sub-Assembly
A. Monoblock is shown with rounded
front and beveled bottom. This
should be done after the fuselage
is assembled.
B. Assemble a left and right sub
assembly with filler blocks. Allow
the adhesive to dry so that the
outside can be sanded flush to
mate to the fuselage sides.
C. Filler blocks are designed at .50”
thick, but that can be adjusted to
suit your battery preferences.
D. Then assemble left and right sub
assemblies into one block. View

4. Monoblock and LH Fuselage Side Installation
A. Apply glue to
monoblock
sub-assembly
and add to RH
fuselage side
assembly.
B. Glue and
install the LH
fuselage side,
and glue F3 to
both sides.

5. Install Lower Fuselage Panel
C. New design on bottom panel is
tabbed to fuselage to help
maintain alignment during
assembly. Not shown here.
B. Bevel all
mating surfaces
to insure a water
tight strong glue
joint.
A. Groove the inside centerline of bottom panel to allow easy folding. Then add
glue to centerline joint to strengthen. Now add fuselage bottom panel.

6. Fuselage Top Panel and Wing Rubber Band Dowels
You may omit
gluing the wing
dowels at this time
until after any color
trimming is
complete.
C. Install wing
rubber band
dowels.
This completes the
basic fuselage.
A. Add fuselage
top panel.
B. Shape nose
and hull of the
monoblock.

7. Horizontal Stabilizer/Elevator Assembly
A. Add brace to elevator. I used a pine stick
that was scrap from ripping wood on the
table saw. Just under 1/8” sq. X 6” long
B. Use your favorite method to hinge
elevator to the horizontal stabilizer.
C. Place a strip of 2” packing tape folded
over the leading edge, being careful not to
have any tape where the stab will glue to
the fuselage.
D. Packing tape adds spanwise strength.

8. Vertical Stabilizer/Rudder Assembly
Hinge rudder to
vertical stabilizer
and attach optional
water rudder and
compression
washer with a 2-56
machine screw and
nut.

9. Stabilizer to Fuselage Installation
A. Please note that the latest
parts have tabbed
components to aid alignment.
B. After adding horizontal and
vertical stabilizer assemblies,
check for square and true to
centerline of fuselage.

10. Wing Tip Float Sub-Assembly (2 required)
A. Glue 3/16” dia. x 4-1/4” long
dowel into center strut
lamination.
B. Add outer strut laminations.
C. Add outer float laminations.
D. Streamline leading and trailing
vertical edges of the strut.
E. Sand airfoil mating surface
square, smooth, and free of glue.
F. Set aside assemblies for last
step to add to the wing.
Note: Outer float laminations shown
shaped to final contour. Do final
shaping after glue is finished
curing. This will prevent
unnecessary dents and dings in
the foam.

11. Motor Pylon Sub-Assembly
A. Add dowels and cross brace to pylon center lamination.
Note temporary tab. This is cut off after dowel glue is dry.
B. Add the firewall cheek blocks. Shown in finished contour.
Contour when motor pylon is complete (after step 12).
C. Clean off any excess glue when dry.

12. Motor Pylon Assembly
D. Curve and bevel pylon outer panels to fit. Then glue
into place.
E. 3 degrees up thrust is already built
into the pylon design. Sand the motor
mount face to provide 3 degrees right
thrust, and attach the 1/16” plywood
motor mount.
F. Finish sand the pylon assembly,
and the Motor Pylon is now
complete.

A. Roll airfoil into each panel.
B. Bevel wing root for
dihedral.
C. Apply glue to center joint
and use blue painters tape
to hold until dry.
D. Dihedral under each tip is
1-7/8” for 42” span
1-5/8” for 34” span
1-3/16” for 26” span
13. Wing Panel Assembly

E. Steam dowels to
match angles in
the wing
assembly.
F. Using a small rat
tail file, File edges
to receive leading
and trailing edge
dowels.
G. Glue and tape
dowels in place
while adhesive
sets.

15. Motor Pylon Installation
A. Approximate holes in wing
assembly for dowel rods in
motor pylon assembly.
B. Glue motor pylon in place.
C. Use a clamp to hold them
together. The wing tends to
flatten out. Clamping will force
it to the airfoil contour.
D. Foam and wood scraps
between clamp and parts will
prevent denting the foam.
E. Add three centerline ribs. This
distributes thrust loads over the
entire chord of the wing.

16. Wing Tip Float Installation
14-1/4” for the 42”
11-3/8” for the 34”
8-7/8” for the 26”
A. Add wing tip float
assemblies to wing/motor
pylon assembly the
corresponding dimensions
from centerlines.
B. Make clamp jigs from scrap
wood to get good solid
joint.

17. Motor Installation
A. Attach motor to firewall
B. Add hole in motor pylon
outer panel and wing for
motor wire routing. Motor
wires may need
extending.
C. Not shown are the three
laminated ribs at
centerline of wing. These
prevent the motor pylon
from fracturing the wing
panels mid chord.

18. Servo, Pushrod, and Control Horn Installation
A. Cut holes for servos
and servo wire
routing.
B. Make up pushrods.
I used 1/8” dowel
rod, 1/32” music
wire, and heat
shrink tubing.
C. Control horns are
cut off pieces of zip
tie.
D. Hot glue servos. CA
pushrods, and PU
adhesive the control
horns in place, in
that order.

19. RX, and ESC Installation
A. RX is hot glued to
rear of F1.
B. ESC wire routes
through hole in F1.
C. ESC is hot glued
to the front of F1.
D. Visible is the
Deans Ultra
connector used for
the battery
disconnect. I
highly recommend
you install
something similar.
