Step 1: Installation of the motors on the motor mounts
Please slightly loosen the screws with which the motor mount is attached to the boom, then pull
the whole mount off the boom. Thread the motor cables through the provided protection grommet
at the end of the motor mount and screw the motor on the mount. You can put shrink tube on the
motor cables for additional protection.
Step 2: Push the mounting bracket onto the boom
There are 4 POM plastic snatches and 4 POM plastic hinges/brackets included. Push a bracket
for the folding mechanism on each of the 4 booms. The bracket must be pushed beyond the hole
for the motor cables. Make sure that you get 2 short and 2 long mirror-inverted booms.
Step 3: Mounting the motors and threading the cables through the boom
Push the motor mounts with the installed motors back onto the boom and thread the motor cables
through the plug at the end of the boom into the tube. Pull the cables out at the other end of the
boom, make sure again that you get 2 mirror-inverted booms each.
Step 4: Threading the motor cables through the top hole of the boom
After you have threaded the cables through the boom, you have to thread the motor cables
through the top hole at the boom end facing the center frame. We recommend the use of angled
tweezers. First, gently pull the cables out of the boom end as far as possible. Then, separately
bend each cable, put it back into the tube with the tweezers and thread it upwards through the top
hole.

Step 5: Installation of the ESCs and the cable harness
As you can see in the picture, the ESCs are positioned
on the outside of the bridge walls. This position is very
important for the folding mechanism to work accurately.
If you don’t use a power distribution board, you need to
solder a cable harness. In doing this, make sure that
you don’t forget any necessary power supplies.
Depending on your use, you should include power
distribution for the following devices:
–PMU V2 in combination with DJI Naza
–Video transmitter
–AlexMos Board
Step 6 (optional): Mounting the RC installation kit
In case you ordered a RC installation kit, you
should mount it at this point of the assembly
process. With the installation kit, the wiring within
your Black Snapper will be a lot neater. The ESC
cables leading to the DJI Naza should be placed
under the RC installation kit. In the following step,
please use the included screws and nuts. First, fix
the screws through the frame from the bottom side
upwards and then (on the top side of the plate) put
a nut on the screw as a spacer. Now, the cables
can be placed neatly and you can thread them
through the wide hole in the RC installation kit
straight in front of the DJI Naza.
The installation kit rests on the nuts and is screwed
in place with additional nuts. The DJI Naza is
mounted directly on the installation kit with the
provided sticky pads.
The smaller one of both plates is needed if you
want to install multiple stories in the front part of
the frame, e.g. for the neat mounting of PMU and
GCU.

Step 7: Mounting of the booms.
Important: The order and orientation of the washers has to be kept as it was delivered.
On the outside of the frame there is a flat washer, between the frame and the POM plastic there
is a curved washer. The convex (smooth) side is facing the frame (carbon fiber), the concave
(sharp-edged) side of the washer is facing the POM. Now, the sharp edge can grip the POM
material, and the smooth side can rotate on the carbon fiber without damaging it. Accordingly, the
folding mechanism will always work correctly without cutting the material.
Step 8: Positioning of the ESCs and ESC cables
Please make sure that you place the ESCs and
their cables exactly like it is shown in the picture.
Attach the cables to the frame wall with a cable tie
(through the provided hole).
In this position, the folding mechanism can work
correctly without damaging the cables. The cables
are almost directly in the turning point of the
booms, so there is basically no wear. If you install
the ESCs in a different position, you risk cable
breaks!
Step 9: Assembly of the frame
You have just finished the wiring and the placement of all electronic components, so now it is time
to finally assemble the frame. Please pay attention to the order of the washers again, and thread
the frame on the screws. Make sure not to squeeze any cables! The use of a rubber mallet may
be required to put the plate onto the notches of the side walls. The frame fits together very tightly
to ensure its full buckling resistance, even after many flights. When screwing the frame together,
make sure that you don’t turn the screws (they should stay in place firmly) but only the nuts!

Hints for users of the Black Snapper Brushless Gimbal with AlexMos controller
If you want use your Black Snapper with the Black Snapper Brushless Gimbal GoPro 3, you need
an additional controller, for example the Brushless Gimbal Controller byAlexMos. You can find
the respective sources online, e.g. via Google. This control board requires a power source and, if
you want to control the gimbal manually, additional cables. These cables can be soldered to the
bottom side of the board to save space. Please execute this step only if you have the necessary
soldering skills and if you are absolutely sure about the connections.
There are two ways to control theAlexMos board. Either you traditionally connect the DJI Naza
with your receiver and then chose one of the remaining channels to connect directly to the
AlexMos board (the Naza is „skipped“) or you connect your receiver to the DJI Naza via PPM or
SBus and control the board with the gimbal function of the Naza.
Important: The gain values of the Naza gimbal function must be set to “0”. Otherwise, the
commands of the AlexMos board and the Naza will interfere with each other.

www.globe-flight.de
The gimbal itself must be set to maintain that the motors have to “work” as little as possible.
Thereby, you should keep the following in mind:
The center of gravity of the gimbal can be shifted by moving the motor for the roll function,
additionally you can change the wiring e.g. for the video output or the AlexMos board. The gimbal
can only work best if it can turn without any resistance!
We recommend the following settings for theAlexMos board:
page | 7
www.globe-flight.de
Of course, these settings must still be adjusted to your own gimbal, but it should already work
quite well with these settings. The values refer to the “SimpleBGC GUI v2.2”
Important: The mounting orientation of the sensor on the gimbal must be trained! This has to be
done in the section “Basic-Sensor”.
Referring to the Firmware 4.0, we recommend the following gain values as initial values for the
setting of the Naza V2.
The “Mounting” position of the GPS unit and the values for Receiver Type, F/S, iOC and the
gimbal in the screenshot are exemplary for our build. Please measure the position of your GPS
exactly and change the gain values only in small steps!

Hint for users of the landing skids:
The landing skids must be pointing OUTWARDS to ensure that the copter stands steadily even in
folded up state.
