Digital Output
This selects the format of digital audio sent over the COAXIAL Digital Audio output. If set to Raw
Disc Format, it will output the audio format found on your disc - this will typically be surround sound
format if you're playing a Blu-ray Disc or DVD. If set to PCM, it will output stereo audio, no matter
what the original format on the disc is.
Thus, if you've connected this unit to a surround sound receiver using a digital connection (HDMI or
COAX), we recommend you set Digital Output to Raw Disc Format. If your receiver doesn't appear to
support the surround sound format you're playing, then try setting this to PCM.
HDMI
You can select PCM or Raw Disc Format.
Dynamic Range Control
This allows you to make the loud parts of a movie’s audio track quieter than they would be in the
theatre, without making the dialog of the actors any quieter. This would be useful, for instance, when
you want to watch a movie in the evening when others might be sleeping.

Auto: If your TV is a high-definition TV (HDTV), is connected to the HDMI port on your player
and you want your player to set the output resolution based on information exchanged
between the TV and your player over the HDMI cable.

480p: If your TV is an enhanced-definition TV (EDTV).
720p: If your TV is a high-definition TV (HDTV) capable of 720p only.
1080i: If your TV is a high-definition TV (HDTV) capable of 1080i only.

Note:
Many movies recorded on Blu-ray discs are recorded at 24 frames per second (fps). If your player
is connected to the TV via HDMI, and the TV has the capability to display 24 fps, setting this mode
to "On" tells your player to output content at 24 fp/sec.
