RDL ST-SX4 Guide

STICK-ON®SERIES
Model ST-SX4
4 Input Audio Switcher
ANYWHERE YOU NEED...
•To Select One of Four Audio Sources
•Audio Selection from Remote Location
•Remote Switching from Single Control Pair
•All Solid-State Audio Switching
•Slave Capability for Stereo Switching
You Need The ST-SX4!
APPLICATION: The ST-SX4 is a remote-controllable unbalanced audio source selector in the group of
STICK-ON series products by Radio Design Labs. These products are designed for quick, convenient
installation and reliable operation in a variety of audio applications.
The ST-SX4 accepts up to Four unbalanced audio sources. Any of these sources may be selected to feed
the output, or all sources may be switched off. The output from the ST-SX4 is unbalanced. Control of the
module is accomplished through a single input terminal. Connection of a specified resistance between the
control input and ground causes the desired input to be switched on. If no control input is connected, the
ST-SX4 defaults to input #4. If the control input is shorted to ground, all inputs are switched off.
Use of a single-pair for control allows a minimum of wire to be installed. Installers may use a variety of
remote switches; rotary, pushbutton, toggle, etc. The three resistors needed are provided with the
module. The ST-SX4 may conveniently be used with the RDL VCA modules to provide both remote
switching and remote volume control. In this case, it is necessary to provide only a single-pair-shielded to
control both modules (1 conductor to control the ST-SX4, 1 conductor to control the RDL VCA modules,
shield to provide control ground path). Two ST-SX4 modules may be used together for stereo switching.
In a wide variety of unbalanced audio switching applications, ST-SX4 affords minimum size, maximum
flexibility, low-noise audio clarity and cost-effectiveness for which Radio Design Labs products are known!
Wherever an unbalanced source selector is needed, the ST-SX4 is the ideal choice. Use the ST-SX4
combined with other RDL RACK-UP®, STICK-ON, TX™, or FLAT-PAK™ series products as part of a
complete audio/video system.
