1 Overview
1.1 Introduction
DEC 1000 decoder is the special hardware equipment developed by
Shenzhen Reach Software Technology Co., Ltd for multimedia signal
decoding and output, as well as use together with Reach’s various series
of Multimedia Recording & Streaming Server. Adopting TI new DSP chip
of high performance and special hardware platform, REACH decoder
supports synchronized decode and display maximum 2 stream 720P
video and 1 stream VGAsignal, as well as the remote controller operation.
It is more flexible and convenient, compared with the PC receiving way.
The launch of REACH decoder adds the a new way of media receiving for
the multimedia recording & streaming system, further improving Reach's
total recording & streaming solution, thus satisfies the user's need of
playing back media files in different environments. It can be widely used in
various applications, such as conference room, conference hall,
demonstration hall and leader’s office, etc..

2 Installation and Configuration
2.1 Product View
The above figure shows all ports and connection methods of the
decoder. Ports are selectively to be connected based on requirements
while installation (but Power, LAN, LIN OUT and HDMI/VGA/YPbPr must
be connected).
2.2 Decoder Configuration Instruction
2.2.1 Button function introduction of the remote controller
The decoder can do all the operations of receiving live streaming, play
on demand and parameter setting, with remote controller, as shown in the
following figure.

2.2.2 Network parameter setting
2.2.2.1 How to set the network address parameter
The leave-factory default IP address of the decoder is random, and you
can get it from the rolling information on the front LCD panel of the
equipment. To facilitate the explanation, assume that the decoder IP
address is 192.168.1.100, and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
To change the network address parameter of the decoder, enter the
decoder menu interface, and select the “System setting” function menu by
the remote controller's [Left] and [Right] navigation buttons, then press
[OK], as shown in the following figure.

After saving the changed network address parameter, IP address will be
effective, and no need to restart the decoder. You can check whether the
address parameter is changed successfully in the front LCD panel of
decoder.

2.2.2.2 Test whether the decoder starts normally.
Change your computer IP address to be in the same network segment
and have the same subnet mask as the decoder, such as 192.168.1.110
255.255.255.0.
Open the command line window: Click Start→Run→Command to open
the command line window, and enter <ping 192.168.1.100> in the
command line window.
2.2.2.3 Live Streaming
It is mainly used to receive the real time live streaming of the multimedia
recording & streaming server. The live streaming interface is as shown in
the following figure:

There are two ways of receiving the real time live streaming: unicast
and multicast, which can be recognized automatically by the input IP and
port/channel, as shown in the following figure:

IP Address:To display IP address of server for receiving unicast and

multicast.
Channel: To display channel for receiving unicast.
Port: To display port for receiving multicast
+: Add new server.
-: Delete server.OK: Enter the media receiver interface after selecting
server.

The live streaming picture is as shown in the following figure
By pressing [INFO] button on the remote controller, you can view the
current media frame rate, bite rate, audio sample rate, audio bandwidth
and video resolution while receiving media. The corresponding figure is as
below:

Furthermore, display order can be changed by pressing [SHIFT]
button on the remote controller.
2.2.3 VOD
It is used to play on demand the files that have been recorded by the
multimedia recording & streaming server, the VOD interface is as shown
in the following figure:

-: Delete VOD server.
OK: After Selecting the VOD server, press it to enter the VOD interface.
The following interface is as below
To show different files by pressing the number buttons [1]~~[4], and turn
the file pages by pressing the [Up] and [Down] PG buttons on the remote
controller. Choose any file and press [OK] to play. You can press the
buttons [Fast Forward], [Backward], [Pause] and [Play] to control the
playing progress.
If you need to cycling play on the demand file, press button [8] to switch
to the cycling play mode.
If you need to exit playing on demand file, press [EXIT] button, then you
will be back to the VOD file list.

2.2.4 System Setting
It is used to set the network parameter, Output mode, language, date
and time of the decoder.
Select “System Setting” in the main menu interface and press [OK] to
enter into the setting interface. In the system setting, we can view the
current system’s version information, and set the network parameter,
Output mode, language, date and time, etc. The system setting is shown
in the following figure:

Network Parameter: Set the IP address, subnet and gateway of the
decoder. The settings will be effective, and no need to restart the decoder.
Output Mode: Support four output modes of 720P, 1080i, XGA and
SXGA.
Language: Support Chinese version and English version.
Date and Time: Set the date and time of the decoder.
OK: Save the revised parameter setting and exit the interface.
Close: Cancel the current changing and return to the last interface.
2.2.5 Introduction of the Web interface
The decoder is embedded with WEB server. All the operations are
completed through the browser (Internet Explorer), which is very easy and
convenient. The functions in the Web interface mainly include the
operations of system information, system configuration, servers list,

restart and exit.
2.2.5.1 Web logon
After 192.168.1.100 is entered in the browser address field, the logon
page in the following figure will appear.

changed)
Password: admin (factory default, can be changed after login)
Click [Login] button to enter the decoder management configuration
page.
2.2.5.2 System Information
It mainly displays the system information, such as equipment serial No,
equipment type, core version, system version , web version, FPGA
version and IP address, as shown in the following figure:
2.2.5.3 Configurate
System configuration mainly includes language, password modification,
network setting, mode setting and system upgrade, etc., as shown in the
following figure:
