Geriatric Sensory Impairment Kit –How do I use the Geriatric Arthritis
Simulator?
Purpose
How do I use the Geriatric Arthritis Simulator?
1. Slide hand through the Velcro straps. Arthritic hand will be on top of user’s hand.
2. Slide fingers and thumb into the finger loops.

3. Position the four silver rivets DIRECTLY over the users knuckles.
4. Tighten Velcro straps on forearm. Make sure the straps are secure on the wrists.

5. Position the arthritic hand joints over the human hand joints.
6. Tighten all five joints by twisting the black screw clockwise. Twist until slightly uncomfortable for user.

NOTE: It is important to have the finger joint directly on or slightly above the knuckle.
It is recommended that the Arthritis Simulator be worn for at least 5 minutes to feel the effects.

•Do not use on persons with preexisting impairments to hands.
•Do not engage in strenuous activities while using hands.
•Immediately discontinue using this product if you feel any sharp pain, dizziness or tingling in your
fingers.
Cleaning Instructions:
Wipe the Arthritis Simulator gently with a damp cloth and suitable cleaning agent or disinfectant. Do not spray
directly or bring in contact with liquids.
