1. Descriptive Information
1.1 Purpose of the device (Indications for Use)
Novæmulti-care system utilizes advanced technology in LED (light-Emitting Diode) to improve skin
condition.
It is a safe and effective Device using exchangeable modules for the treatment of skin rejuvenation, acne
reduction, wound healing and pain management.
Novæmulti-care comes in a handy, rechargeable battery-operated device and proposes 6
interchangeable LED modules each corresponding to a specific treatment protocol.
The device should be used at about 3 cm from the area to be treated.
We recommend using everyday for a period of 28 days for effective results.
Please review the user manual for detailed information regarding each module treatment.

1.2 Detailed description of the device
The product is composed of a handy battery operated device and of interchangeable LED modules; it is
originally provided with one red module. The battery can be loaded through a USB cable or through an
AC/DC adaptor. See picture below

1.3 When the device should not be used (i.e., contraindications):
Seizures, Blackouts, and Eyestrain A small percentage of people may be susceptible to blackouts or
seizures (even if they have never had one before) when exposed to flashing lights or light patterns. If you
have experienced seizures or blackouts or have a family history of such occurrences, you should consult
a physician before using your novæmulti-care. Discontinue use of novæ multi-care and consult a
physician if you experience headaches, blackouts, seizures, convulsion, eye or muscle twitching, loss of
awareness, involuntary movement, or disorientation. To reduce risk of headaches, blackouts, seizures,
and eyestrain, avoid prolonged use, hold novæ multi-care some distance from your eyes, use novæ
multi-care in a room, and take frequent breaks.
Potentially Explosive Atmospheres Turn off novæ multi-care (press and hold theon/off button) when in
any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere. Do not charge novæ multi-care, and obey all signs and
instructions. Sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire, resulting in serious injury or even
death. Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are often, but not always, marked clearly. Potential
areas may include: fueling areas (such as gas stations); below deck on boats; fuel or chemical transfer or
storage facilities; vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane); areas where the
air contains chemicals or particles (such as grain, dust, or metal powders); and any other area where you
would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine.
1.4 Risks and benefits
Novæ Multi-Care, when used as described in this manual, has been shown to reduce the appearance of
Wrinkles and fine lines on the face.
Risks: See contra-indications above. Novæ Multi-Care does not generate UV rays, not detectable heat,
nor infra-red rays, ultra-sounds or other electromagnetic emissions. As a consequence, the risks of
burns or electric hazard are not expected during use.

When charging the battery, however, strictly follow the instructions below:
Do not connect or disconnect the novæ multi-care USB Power Adapter with wet hands.
The novæ multi-care USB Power Adapter may become warm during normal use. Always allow adequate
ventilation around the novæ multi-care USB Power Adapter and use care when handling. Unplug the
novæ multi-care USB Power Adapter if any of the following conditions exist:
The power cord or plug has become frayed or damaged.
The adapter is exposed to rain, liquid, or excessive moisture.
The adapter case has become damaged.
You suspect the adapter needs service or repair.
You want to clean the adapter

1.5 Expectations of the device
Skin Rejuvenation and Repair treatment: novæ's red module uses effective wavelengths of light to
trigger repair mechanisms, stimulates fibroblasts cells and cell growth, and speeds up the healing
process. It is indicated for the improvement of sensitive (aging) skin, and the prevention or reduction of
the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
1.6 The procedure associated with the use of the device
The device battery is partly charged when you receive it. You will need to charge the battery when the
indicator red light on the base of the device flashes.
Once fully charged, the device is ready to use for about 40 treatments of 180 seconds each (new battery).
How to insert and remove a LED module
ŸSlide open the Device's sliding cover to reveal the module's compartment
ŸRemove the transparent protection sleeve of the module.
ŸTake the module on its ears and gently introduce connectors first, the module will automatically slide
inside the device's compartment.
The product is ready to use.
To remove the module, take it on its ears and gently pull upward.
How to start: press the button on top of the device. Pulsating red light will start to be emitted from the
module's LEDs
How to stop: The red module will stop emitting automatically after 3 minutes. Should you want to
interrupt treatment before, press the button on top of the device.

1.7 General warnings and precautions
Important Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock, or other injury or
damage.
Handling novæ multi-care : Do not drop, disassemble, open, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred,
microwave, incinerate, paint, or insert foreign objects into novæ multi-care.
Carrying and Handling novæ multi-care : Do not bend, drop, or crush novæ multi-care. If your novæ
multi-care's back case has a high-gloss finish, handle with care to maintain its appearance. If you are
concerned about scratching or abrasion, you can use one of the many cases sold separately.
Using Connectors and Ports : Never force a connector into a port. Check for obstructions on the port. If
the connector and port don't join with reasonable ease, they probably don't match. Make sure that the
connector matches the port and that you have positioned the connector correctly in relation to the port.
Avoiding Water and Wet Locations : Do not use novæ multi-care in rain, or near washbasins or other
wet locations. Take care not to spill any food or liquid on novæ multi-care. In case novæ multi-care gets
wet, unplug all cables, turn off novæ multi-care before cleaning, and allow it to dry thoroughly before
turning it on again.
Do not attempt to dry novæ multi-care with an external heat source, such as a microwave oven or hair
dryer. Anovæ multi-care that has been damaged as a result of exposure to liquids is not serviceable.
Repairing or Modifying novæ multi-care : Never attempt to repair or modify novæ multi-careyourself.
Disassembling novæ multi-care may cause damage that is not covered under the warranty. novæ multi-
care does not contain any user-serviceable parts.
Service should only be provided by a novæauthorized retailer. If novæ multi-care has been submerged in
water, punctured, or subjected to a severe fall, do not use it until you take it to a novæIauthorized retailer.
Battery Replacement : The rechargeable battery in novæ multi-care should be replaced only by Recife
Concept Ltd or a Recife Concept Ltd authorized retailer.
Charging novæ multi-care : To charge novæ multi-care, only use the novæ multi-care Dock Connector
toUSB Cable with a USB Power Adapter, or the USB port of a computer, or a third-party accessory
certified to use novæ multi-care.
Read all safety instructions for any products and accessories before using withnovæ multi-care. Recife
Concept Ltd is not responsible for the operation of third-party accessories or their compliance with safety
and regulatory standards.
When you use the novæ multi-care USB Power Adapter to charge the device, make sure that the power
adapter is fully assembled before you plug it into a power outlet. Then insert the novæ multi-care USB
Power Adapter firmly into the power outlet.
Do not connect or disconnect the novæ multi-care USB Power Adapter with wet hands.
The novæ multi-care USB Power Adapter may become warm during normal use. Always allow adequate

No specific care regimen is needed with Novæ Multi Care. Use of facial creams and make-up should
take place after the use of Novæ Multi Care.

2.5 Cleaning instructions
To clean novæ multi-care, unplug all cables and turn off novæ multi-care (press and hold the on/off
button). Then use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Don't use window
cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to clean novæ
multi-care.
2.6 Description of maintenance and who should do it
Repairing or Modifying novæ multi-careNever attempt to repair or modify novæ multi-care yourself.
Disassembling novæ multi-care may cause damage that is not covered under the warranty. novæ multi-
care does not contain any user-serviceable parts.
Service should only be provided by a Recife Concept Ltd authorized retailer. If novæ multi-care has been
submerged in water, punctured, or subjected to a severe fall, do not use it until you take it to a novæ

2.7 Storage instructions
Keeping novæ multi-care Within Acceptable Temperatures Operate novæ multi-care in a place where
the temperature is between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). Low-or high-temperature conditions might
temporarily shorten battery life or cause novæ multi-care to temporarily stop working properly. Avoid
dramatic changes in temperature or humidity when using novæ multi-care as condensation may form on
or within novæ multi-care.
Store novæ multi-care in a place where the temperature is between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don't
leave novæ multi-care in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.
2.8 Expected failure time and mode and its effect on the user
83% of users report firming of their skin after 4 weeks, and 67 % report a reduction of fine lines (Study of
12 women aged 46 to 66). Individual results may vary. Overexposure to novæ multi-care (i.e. more than
twice a day on the same zone) is not dangerous, but will not yield improved results. If the automated
treatment time seems too short, re-load the battery. If this is not effective, see authorized novæ retailer or

The device and its accessories are certified conform to standards CE and FCC part 15 verification.
The WEEE logo on this product or its documentation indicates that the product must not be disposed of
as household waste. To help prevent possible harm to human health and/or the environment, the product
must be disposed of in an approved and environmentally safe recycling process. For further information
on how to dispose of this product correctly, contact the product supplier, or the local authority responsible

3. Additional Information
3.1 Clinical study
A clinical study on Novæ Multi-Care red module was performed in March-April 2009, at Institut
Dermatologiqued' Aquitaine, 33500 Martillac France, under medical supervision.
Study 50765 was done under all current international legal and ethical regulations.
12 subjects were included. Age 45-65 (mean 59 ± 6)
Comparative trial for 28 days:

Best objective results were achieved with novæalone :

ŸDecrease in the total area of wrinkles : 10.2 %

The above results are in accordance with previously reported studies of the effects of red LED use for the
management of aging skin.

How does it work?
Novæ is using LED technology, which delivers precise wavelength of light to naturally stimulate
regeneration at cellular level.
Is it safe?
Novæ is safe. None of the module treatments contain harmful UVA or UVB.
Is it painful?
Absolutely not, there are no heat or invasion involved. The light works naturally with your body.
How long does it take?
Each treatment is specifically pre-programmed: it can last from 45 seconds up to a few minutes. The
treatment should be renewed everyday for a minimum period of one month
When will I see results?
Optimum results will be seem between 4 to 8 weeks
Is there anyone who should not use novæ-multi-care?
LED therapy is one of the most effective and safest treatment available for all skin types.
However, individuals with photosensitivity, heart pacers, history of cancer and pregnant women should
consult their doctor first.

3.2 Adverse events and ease of use
During the 4 clinical tests of novæ Multi-care, a total of 48 subjects have used the product for 4 weeks.
In three of the tests, no adverse event was reported or detected.
On a four point rating scale concerning the ease of use of novæ Multi-Care, 41 subjects (85 %) reported
the product as “Very easy to use”, and 7 subjects (15%) reported “easy to use”. No subject reported any
difficulty with the use of novæ Multi-Care.
3.3 Novæ multi-care (1) Year Limited Warranty
For consumers, who are covered by consumer protection laws or regulations in their country of
purchase or, if different, their country of residence, the benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition
to all rights and remedies conveyed by such consumer protection laws and regulations.
This warranty does not exclude, limit or suspend any rights of consumers arising out of nonconformity
with a sales contract.
Some countries, states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages or allow limitations on how long an implied warranty or condition may last, so
the limitations or exclusions described below may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by country,
state or province. This limited warranty is governed by and construed under the laws of the country in
which the product purchase took place.
Recife concept ltd, the warrantor under this limited warranty, is identified at the end of this document
according to the country or region in which the product purchase took place.
Recife Concept Ltd's warranty obligations for this product are limited to the terms set forth below:
Recife Concept Ltd, as defined in the table below, warrants this novæ multi-care-brandedproduct
against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the
date of retail purchase by the original end user purchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a product defect arises
and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, at its option and to the extent permitted by law,
Recife Concept Ltd will either (1) repair the product defect at no charge, using new parts or parts
equivalent to new in performance and reliability, (2) exchange the product with a product that is new or
equivalent to new in performance and reliability and is at least functionally equivalent to the original
product, or (3) refund the purchase price of the product. Recife Concept Ltd. may request that you
replace defective parts with new or refurbished user installable parts that Recife Concept Ltd provides
in fulfillment of its warranty obligation. A replacement product or part, including a user-installable part
that has been installed in accordance with instructions provided by Recife Concept Ltd, assumes the
remaining warranty of the original product or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair,
whichever provides longer coverage for you. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement
item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes Recife Concept Ltd's property. Parts
provided by Recife Concept Ltdin fulfillment of its warranty obligation must be used in products for
which warranty service is claimed. When a refund is given, the product for which the refund is provided
must be returned to Recife Concept Ltd and becomes Recife Concept Ltd's property.
EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS This Limited Warranty applies only to the product manufactured by

it. The Limited Warranty does not apply to any non-Recife Concept Ltdproduct, even if packaged or
sold with the Recife Concept Ltd product. Manufacturers, suppliers, or publishers, other than Recife
Concept Ltd, may provide their own warranties to the end user purchaser, but Recife Concept Ltd, in so
far as permitted by law, provides their products “as is”. Distributed by with or without the novæbrand
name is not covered under this Limited Warranty.
This warranty does not apply: (a) to consumable parts, such as batteries, or protective coatings
designed to diminish over time unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship;
(b) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents, and broken plastic on ports; (c) to
damage caused by use with non-Recife Concept Ltd products; (d) to damage caused by accident,
abuse, misuse, liquid spill or submersion, flood, fire, earthquake or other external causes; (e) to damage
caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by Recife Concept
Ltd; (f) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is
not a representative of Recife Concept Ltd or an Recife Concept Ltd authorized retailer ; (g) to a product
or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Recife
Concept Ltd ; (h) to defects caused by normal wear and tear orotherwise due to the normal aging of the
product or (i) if any Recife Concept Ltd serialnumber has been removed or defaced.
Recife Concept Ltd or an authorized retailer should perform service on this product.to the extent
permitted by law, this warranty and the remedies set forth above are exclusive and in lieu of all other
warranties,remedies and conditions, whether oral, written, statutory, expressor implied. As permitted
by applicable law, Recife concept ltd specifically disclaims any and all statutory or implied warranties,
including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose and
warranties against hidden or latent defects. If Recife concept ltd cannot lawfully disclaim statutory
orimplied warranties then to the extent permitted by law, all suchwarranties shall be limited in duration
to the duration of theexpress warranty and to the repair or replacement service asdetermined by recife
concept ltd in its sole discretion. No Recife concept ltd reseller, agent, or employee is authorized to
make any modification, extension, or addition to this warranty. If any term is held to be illegal or
unenforceable, the legality or enforceability of the remaining terms shall not be affected or impaired.
Except as provided in this warranty and to the maximum extentpermitted by law, Recife concept ltd is
not responsible for direct, special,incidental or consequential damages resulting from any breachof
warranty or condition, or under any other legal theory,

loss of profits oncontracts); loss of the use of money; loss of anticipated savings;loss of business; loss
of opportunity; loss of goodwill; loss ofreputation; loss of, damage to or corruption of data; or
anyindirect or consequential loss or damage howsoever causedincluding the replacement of
equipment and property, any costsof recovering, programming or reproducing any program ordata
stored near the Recife concept ltd product.

OBTAINING WARRANTY SERVICE

product before seeking warranty service. If the product is still not functioning properly after making use
of these resources, please contact the Recife Concept Ltdrepresentatives or, if applicable, Recife
Concept Ltdauthorized retailer located using the information provided in the documentation. When
contacting Recife Concept Ltd via telephone, other charges may apply depending on your location.
When calling, a Recife Concept Ltd representative or Recife Concept Ltdauthorized wireless service
provider will help determine whether your product requires service and, if it does, will inform you how
Recife Concept Ltd will provide it. You must assist in diagnosing issues with your product and follow
Recife Concept Ltd's warranty processes.
Recife Concept Ltd may restrict service to the country where Recife Concept Ltd or its authorized
distributors originally sold the product, and provide warranty service (i) at a Recife Concept Ltd
authorized retailer location, where service is performed at the location, or the Recife Concept Ltd
authorized retailer may send the product to a Recife Concept Ltd repair service location for service, (ii) by
sending you prepaid way bills (and if you no longer have the original packaging, Recife Concept Ltd may
send you packaging material) to enable you to ship the product to Recife Concept Ltd' s repair service
location for service, or (iii) by sending you new or refurbished customer-installable replacement product
or parts to enable you to service or exchange your own product Upon receipt of the replacement
product , the original product becomes the property of Recife Concept Ltd and you agree to follow
instructions, including, if required, arranging the return of original product or part to Recife Concept Ltd
in a timely manner. When providing Service requiring the return of the original product or part, Recife
Concept Ltd may require a credit card authorization as security for the retail price of the replacement
product or part and applicable shipping costs. If you follow instructions, Recife Concept Ltd will cancel
the credit card authorization, so you will not be charged for the product or part and shipping costs. If you
fail to return the replaced product or part as instructed, Recife Concept Ltd will charge the credit card for
the authorized amount.
Service options, parts availability and response times may vary according to the country in which service
is requested. Service options are subject to change at any time. You may be responsible for shipping and
handling charges if the product cannot be serviced in the country in which service is requested. If you
seek service in a country that is not the country of original purchase, you will comply with all applicable
export laws and regulations and be responsible for all custom duties, V.A.T. and other associated taxes
and charges. Where international service is available, Recife Concept Ltd may repair or exchange
defective products and parts with comparable products and parts that comply with local standards. In
accordance with applicable law, Recife Concept Ltd may require that you furnish proof of purchase
details and/or comply with registration requirements before receiving warranty service. Please refer to
the accompanying documentation for more details on this and other matters on obtaining warranty
service.
Recife Concept Ltd will maintain and use customer information in accordance with the Recife Concept
Ltd Customer Privacy Policy available at the webpage listed in the table below.
3.4 Travel or International use
The power adaptor sold with Novæ Multi-Care is designed for use in the UK. Other adaptors exist for
other countries: please contact your authorized retailer for further information.
Your Novæ Multi-Care device can always be re-loaded using the USB port of any computer, in any part of
the world. Charging time will generally be around five hours. When fully loaded, Novæ Multi-Care is able
to provide about 40 treatments of 180 seconds each (new battery).
