Use a double-braided composite rope with the following
characteristics:
- Minimum Rated Capacity:
At least 18 kN (4,000 lbs.)
- Average Breaking Strength
At least 98 kN (22,000 lbs.)
Failure to observe this warning could result in severe injury
or death.
Check the condition of the entire rope before use. A worn or
damaged rope can break under tension and whip violently.
Do not allow a stationary rope on a rotating capstan. The
wear generated may cause the rope to break under tension
and whip violently.
Failure to observe these warnings could result in severe
injury or death.
Attach the pulling rope to the cable with appropriate types
of connectors. Select connectors with a minimum rated
capacity of at least 18 kN (4,000 lbs.) An under-rated
connector can break under tension.

(11 & 12) Important: Keep the Univer-
sal Adaptor parallel to the pulling sur-
face. Loosen the locknut on the con-
duit pipe and set the puller in place
with the Universal Adaptor setting
below the locknut. Wrap the chain of
the adaptor around the conduit pipe,
then thread the chain through the
hole in the adaptor and lock the chain
into the chain retaining slot.
(13) Hand tighten the conduit locknut.
(14) Make sure the double braided
pulling rope is in contact with the
rollers. You’re ready to pull, no need
to anchor the puller to the oor.

OPERATING TIPS
(5 & 6) Notice the “V” formed by the
rope and the frame. For easier pull-
ing, keep the rope in this “V” forma-
tion. When the rope becomes a “L”
formation, the pull is more difficult.
(1) Before starting to pull, always check
the forward/reverse switch to be sure
the capstan will turn in the proper
direction.
(2) Make sure the motor is on low speed.

(3) Wrap the double braided pulling rope
2 to 3 times around the capstan to
start.
(4) Use the foot pedal on and off switch
to operate the puller.
(7) 2 to 3 wraps of rope on the capstan
are adequate. Too many wraps may
cause knotting on the capstan. If this
occurs, release the foot pedal, ip the
reverse switch and run the puller in
reverse while the knot unwinds.
(8) When the pull is over loosen the
locknut release the chain from the
Universal Adaptor and remove the
puller. Important: The capstan may
be hot from the pull, handle with care.
