Fig 2: Board layout of the A 2073B alert/evac module
10. The A 2073B has a voice over option which is enabled by DIP switch 2. When this DIP switch is set to “ON” the
recorded message will play twice after 4 cycles of the evac tone. Note: this voice over will only operate when the A
2073B is in evac mode. To record a message, connect the supplied microphone to the 2 way euro block as shown in
figure 2. To start recording, set DIP switch 4 to “ON”. When finished recording, set the DIP switch back to “OFF”.
11. Output level trimpots are available for the chime, alert/evac tones and voice over.
12. The A 2073B is equipped with a “switch over” option. This switches the Alert tone to the Evacuation tone automati-
cally. Switch 1 turns ON the “switch over” option as well as adjusting the time that the Alert tone will sound for
before switching to the Evacuation tone. See table 1 for selection details.
13. The alert and evac triggers can be set to be momentary or alternate action by DIP switch 1. In momentary operation
the alert or evac tones will operate only while the trigger is activated. In alternate operation the tones will operate con-
tinuously after they have been triggered.
