Please follow theseinstructions carefullyto ensure that
your gate extension is properly installed. Improper
installation could result in the gate becoming dislodged
from the doorway, or unstable.Always make surethe
extension is securely attached to the gate before using. The
safety of your child is yourresponsibility.
It ispreferabletoinstallthe extensiononthe hinge side of
the gate. If youhave an applicationthat requiresadditional
extensions,please contactthe retailerwhichyou
purchased yourgatefrom. We offer,thefollowingsizesof
extensionsfor your gate:4 inch, 6inch, 12 inchand 24
inch. They are availableat most retailersthat carry our
Regalo Productsline of metalgates.
Note:If using this gate at the top of stairs,the 4 Wall Cups
MUST be used . If not use,the gate couldbe dislodged from
the opening.

Assembling and Installing Your Gate
**Note: IMPORTANTyou willnotice aslight Gap betweenthe gate doorlatch and
theframe tube .THIS ISNOTA DEFECT . Yourgate is apressure mounted gateand
thisgap will disappearonce you tightenyour gatein the doorway.
Begin by locating the 4 Threaded Spindle Rods. Before you begin, turn the Adjustment Wheels
clockwise until they are almost against the flat end of the Threaded Spindle Rods. WARNING: The
Adjustment Wheel shouldNOT touchthe flatend of the ThreadSpindle Rod. Ifit does it mightget
stuck.
Youare going to insert the 4Threaded Spindle Rodsintothe holes inthe 4ends of thegate frame as
shown in Diagram B1. **IMPORTANT: THE ENDS OFTHE GATEFRAME ARE NOT
THREADED. THE THREADED SPINDLE RODSSHOULD SLIDE INTO THE END OFTHE
FRAME TUBES WITHOUT ANYRESISTENCE. Push the ThreadedSpindle Rods allthe wayinto
theframe tube until the Adjustment Wheel hits theend ofthe frame tubeas shownin Diagram B2.

Positioning andAttaching theWall Cups toyourdoor opening.
Your gate is a pressure mounted gate.Therefore it is not necessary to use the screw attached Wall Cups to
your door opening if you choose not to. However, IFYOUAREUSINGTHE GATEATTHE TOPOF
STAIRS YOU MUST USE THEWALLCUPS.
Regardless of whether you are using your gate at the top of stairs ornot, usingthe Wall Cups will affix your
gate more firmly in the doorway. So you may choose to usethem in all applications. If you choose not to use
the Wall Cups youmay skip to Step 4now.
Before attaching yourWall Cups to your doorway opening you must make sure you have the screw holes
marked correctly. It is important to install the gate with a spacing of not more than 3” from the floor and
to make sure the gap between the side wall and the gate is not more than 3” on each side of the gate. Todo this,
simply position your gate in the doorway sothat it is level and centered as shown in Diagram C-1. Then,
place the Wall Cups over the flat end of the Threaded Spindle Rods which should already be fully inserted into
the endsof the gate frame tubes as shownin Diagram C-2. Pull the Threaded Rods out until the Flat endwith
the Wall Cupis against the wall . Pull all fourThreaded Spindle Rods out inthis manner. Then take a pencil
and make alight mark onthe wall around the parameter of theWall Cups. Once you have marked the correct
spots on your walls you can movethe gate aside. Next,you will need tomark the Screw Holes. To this simply
take aWall Cup andcenter it on each pencil circle you markedon your wall. Use apencil to mark the small
Screw Hole in thecenter of the Wall Cup. You arenow ready to fasten your WallCups to the Wall using the
self tapping screws included in the hardware packet.

Step 4.
You arenowreadyto installyourgate inthe doorway. Beginbypositioningyourgate
leveland centeredin thedoorwayopening. Pullthe 4ThreadedSpindleRodsout of the
endsof theframeTubesuntilthe FlatPlasticEnd touchesthewall. **If youare using
theWallCups thenthe flatplasticendsof theThreadedSpindleRodsshould gointo the
Wall Cupsthatarefastenedto yourwall. Next,while holdingtheflatplasticends ofthe
ThreadedSpindleRods againstthewall, turntheAdjustmentWheelscounter-clockwise
untiltheAdjustmentWheelsareup againsttheendsof theframetubes asshown in
DiagramD. DONOT TIGHTEN.Go toStep 5forFinalAdjustment.HELPFULHINT:
Itmay be necessarytoholdtheThreadedSpindleRod whileturningtheAdjustment
Wheel toensuretheThreadedSpindle Rod doesnotturn.

Step 5.
You arenow ready to do theFinalAdjustmentto fasten yourgate firmlyinthe
doorway. Start by turning the BOTTOM AdjustmentWheelsFIRST. Continue to
turn thelowerAdjustment Wheelscounter-clockwiseuntiltheAdjustmentWheels are
firmlyagainsttheendsof the frametubes.. IMPORTANT: Thereshouldbe equal
spaceon eachside ofthe gate. Toeasilydeterminethis look atthelength ofthreaded
rodis thatis showingoneach side.If thegateis centered,therewill bean equal
lengthof threadedrod showing.Ifmore threadedrodis showingon oneside you can
adjustthisusing theAdjustmentWheels.Simplyturnthe sidethat has too much
Threaded Rod showingclockwise,andthenturntheothersidecounter-clockwise. As
yousothisyouwillseethesidesequaling out as shown in Diagram E.

Next, tighten the top2 Adjustment Wheels by turning them counter-clockwise.
Again, make sure both sides are equal asyou tighten. As you tighten theAdjustment
wheels you will notice thegap between the plastic gate doorlatch and the frame tube
is narrowing. As the gap continues to narrow continue turning the upperAdjustment
Wheels until the frame tube engages in the slot inthe plasticgate door handle. Leave
a 1/16” gap between the frame tube and the plastic gatedoor latch as shown in
Diagram F. IMPORTANT: The frame tube MUST NOT touch the Plastic gate door
latch. If it does touch youhave turned the AdjustmentWheels a few too many turns.
To correct this simply turn the upperAdjustment wheels clockwise a fewturns until
you have a 1/16 inch gap. Your gate isnow ready to use.

Lock and then push the Handle down. Release the
Safety Lock so it is now locking the Handle in position.

REMOVING YOUR GATEFROMTHE WALL
CAREAND MAINTENANCE
Toremove you gatefromthe wallbeginbyturningtheAdjustmentWheelsclockwise untiltheflat
plasticendsoftheThreaded SpindleRods comeout fromthe WallCups. Thiswillfreeyour gatefrom
the wall.
Periodically check the gate for sign of damage, wear orfor missing components.
Do not use ifany part is missing, worn or damaged components.
Check the gate regularly to make sure all the hardware and mountings are tightened.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or bleach.
Clean it by sponging with warm water and mild detergent.

Instructions for Gate Extension
1. Assemble the gate per the gate instructions.
2. Choose the side of the gate to be extended and remove the top and bottomAdjustment Wheel Spindles.
3. Assemble the gate and extension as illustrated.
4. Reposition the gate and fit in accordance with the gate fittinginstructions.
