the National Electrical Code and local building codes.
• Always use same wattage and type of bulb that was included with the
fixture. Failure to do so will void the warranty.
NOTE: This fixture is intended to be installed either on a standard
lampholder mounting plate, or with conduit, connected to a properly
installed and properly grounded metal weatherproof junction box
(not provided). All coverplates, conduit connections, conduit, and
junction boxes (not provided) should be UL LISTED suitable for wet
locations.
MOUNTING TO WALL OR POST:
1. Using the pattern on the box, mark and drill holes for mounting.
NOTE: This fixture should be mounted in an upright position.
2. Install the two bottom mounting screws first, leaving enough room
between the mounting screws and the mounting surface to slide the fix-
ture into position.
3. Screw the top mounting screw into the predrilled hole and back the
screw out. This will leave the hole threaded and make installation of
the fixture easier.
4. Mount the light fixture (without the access cover) to the mounting sur-
face by setting the fixture on the bottom two screws – from Step 2 (in
the slots on the bottom of the fixture plate), and then screwing the top
screw back into the prethreaded hole. Tighten all screws.
5. Remove the access cover from the hardware bag. With a hammer and
screwdriver, remove the round knock-out from the
access cover (be careful not to damage the access
cover).
6. Install the first conduit connector (not provided) into
the knock-out area of the access cover (J). Tighten
with adjustable wrench. NOTE: The access cover
should not be attached to the unit at this point.
7. Connect second conduit connector at the junction box
(J).
8. Attach conduit between the two connectors.
9. Turn off the power at the main fuse/breaker box. Feed
supply wires into conduit, connecting one end inside junc-
tion box, and the other end to the fixture. Make wiring con-
nections inside the fixture arm as described in “Wiring
your fixture.”
MOUNTING TO STANDARD LAMPHOLDER MOUNTING PLATE:
1. Feed the supply wires from the house through the lamp-holder mount-
ing gasket, and through the back of the mounting plate itself (K).
2. Install the lampholder mounting plate to the junction box (refer to the
mounting plate instructions). House supply wires
should be sticking out of the front of the mounting
plate.
3. Screw the locknut (found in the hardware bag) onto
the threaded end of the mounting plate adapter.

Feed the supply wires from the house (coming through the lamphold-
er mounting plate hole) through the mounting plate adapter hole (L).
The threaded end of the mounting plate adapter should be
facing the lampholder mounting plate. NOTE: If the house lead wires
are not long enough, it may be necessary to attach 6” wire exten-
sions.
4. Screw the mounting plate adapter into the lampholder mounting plate.
NOTE: Use the locknut to adjust and tighten
the adapter to the mounting plate.
5. Apply silicone caulk around the mounting
plate adapter to ensure a watertight seal.
6. Mount the fixture to the mounting plate adapter using the 3 screws
and nuts provided (M). House supply wires should be in the
bottom area of the fixture arm at this point.
7. Make wiring connections inside the fixture arm as described in
“Wiring your fixture.”
Before continuing – turn off the power at the main fuse/breaker box.
If the supply wires coming from your house
are solid, you can use the Quick-connect™
wire system to attach your Regent light
fixture. NOTE: Quick connectors can only be
used with solid supply wires.
1. Simply insert the black supply wire from your
house into the quick connector with the black wire coming
from the fixture (N).
2. Attach your ground supply wire to the green ground wire coming
from your the fixture. Secure with wire nut (not provided).
3. Insert the white supply wire from your house into the quick connector
with the white wire coming from the fixture (N).
4. Push both wires firmly into holes to insure that they
are seated properly and securely.
Proceed to “Attaching access cover and lens.”
If the supply wires coming from your house are stranded:
1. Remove the quick connectors from the end of the light fixture wires by
turning them repeatedly from left to right while pulling. Repeat until
they are both removed. Discard these connectors. Do not attempt
to use with other electrical fixtures! These connectors are
designed to withstand the temperature and voltage requirements
of this Regent product only.
2. Attach your ground supply wire insidethe fixture arm using the
ground screw provided (J).
3. Connect black fixture wire to black supply wire (hot). Secure with wire
nut (not provided).
4. Connect white fixture wire to white supply wire (neutral). Secure with
wire nut (not provided).
5. Be careful to connect the wires correctly. Make sure no bare strands

of wire extend from the wire nut or other approved wire
connectors (not supplied).
1. If your fixture is to be mounted to a standard lamp-hold-
er mounting plate, remove the U-shaped knockout on
the back of the cover (O) using a hammer and screw-
driver.
2. Attach the access cover to the light fixture using screws
provided (P). NOTE: Make sure all wiring is inside of
the fixture arm before the access cover is secured.
3. Locate the lens lock screw on the housing and loosen it
almost completely out. Attach the reflector to the hous-
ing by carefully lining up the slots on the reflector to the
tabs on the housing. Using refelctor mounting screws
(3) securely attached reflector to housing in place. (Q)
1. Screw the bulb securely into socket.
2. Back the bulb out one or two turns, then screw bulb back to insure
proper position in socket.
1. Turn on the power at the main fuse/breaker box.
2. Turn power on to the fixture. Your fixture should come on for 1 – 4 min-
utes, then go off during daylight installation.
3. To test your fixture, cover the light sensor for 1 – 3 minutes. Your
fixture should come on. Uncover the sensor, and your fixture should
turn off in 1 – 4 minutes.

Is there power to the fixture?
• Has the circuit breaker tripped?
• Is the wall switch ON?
Is the bulb screwed in completely?
• Is the bulb good?
(Be careful not to overtighten)
Is the sensor functioning properly?
• Is light being reflected into the sensor, causing the
fixture to turn off?
Is the wiring to the unit loose?

Is the light sensor receiving enough light?
Perform this simple test. Shine a flashlight into the light sen-
sor. NOTE: There is approximately a 2 minute time delay
before the light will turn off. If the light turns off after approxi-
mately 2 minutes, then the light fixture is not getting enough
light. If this is the case, install a light sensor reflector and aim
it to capture the most amount of light in the area. (Contact our
customer service department for an optional light sensor
reflector assembly.)
