Technical information.
Chain block manufactured and supplied in conformity with:
•Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
•NEN-EN-ISO 12100-1/2: Safety of machinery – Basic concepts, general principles for design.
•NEN-EN 818-7: Short link chain for lifting purposes.
•NPR 1967: Equipment with calibrated round steel link chain - Use, checking and maintenance.
Checks to be carried out before use.
•This product may only be operated by trained/qualified staff. Staff must be trained in accordance with the national standards.
•Make sure that the user manual has been read in full and thoroughly understood.
•Before each use, this product must be checked for damage, corrosion and faults.
•Never use this product to lift loads heavier than the safe working load. The safe working load is shown on the type plate (see the
"Explanation of type designations" section).
•Never use more than one chain block to lift or move a load.
•Do not use a product with a twisted, broken or damaged chain.
•Never use this product when one of the hooks is bent, deformed or broken or when the hook latch is missing. Information about
the limits is given in Table 1 in the“Hook wear" section(page 4).
•Always make sure that the load to be lifted with this product is vertically under the chain block.
•Make sure that the chain block is not subjected to a shock load.
•Make sure that the structure to which this product is to be fastened is suitable for lifting purposes.
•Check that the structure can bear the weight to be lifted.
•Do not use this product to lift persons or to lift loads above persons.
•Do not use this product in extreme temperatures: contact your REMA dealer in the case of any doubts.
•This product must, depending on its use, be inspected and, if necessary, tested by a competent person at least once a year to
verify that it is in good condition. Defective or worn parts may only be replaced with original parts.

Load chainwear.
Although the load chain is of high quality, it is impossible to prevent wear. Wear or corrosion of the chain is dependent on the use
of the product. This can reduce the hardness. The load chain must be replaced immediately wear reaches the limits listed in the
following table.

The chain block must not be used when it fails any of the above checks.
Safe working practice.
The product can be used safely once all the“Checks to be carried
out before use” section and the following points have been
checked.
1. Check that the end of the load chain (without the hook) has
been mounted correctly.
2. Check that the top and bottom hooks, side housings and
load chain are secure.
3. Check the chain block for visual damage.
4. Check that all nuts and bolts are fitted and tight.
5. Check the load chain for damage, deformation and rust.
6. Check that the hand chain moves smoothly and that the
clicking of the ratchet can be heard when pulling on the
chain.

Hook wear.
Overloading and/or the incorrect use of the chain block can
widen the hook opening. When the hook opening is 3% larger (or
smaller for measurement point C)than the dimension measured
before rst use then the deformation or wear of the hook is too
great and the hook must be replaced immediately.

Do not forget to note the measurements on the REFERENCE CARD
-> this is part of the QUICK START SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS supplied with

After use.
After each use, follow the instructions listed below to lengthen the service life and guarantee the safety of the product:
1 Clean the product.
2 Carry out a visual check for damage and/or deformation.
3 Store the product in a dry, dust-free area, preferably hanging.
4 Check that the certificate will be valid the next time the product is used.
Use.
Once the load hook has been attached to
the load, the user lifts the load by pulling
on the hand chain (shown by in the
drawing).
