IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Warning: When the straightener is used in a bathroom,
unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a
hazard even when the straightener is switched off.
When using electrical appliances, especially when children
are present, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING
For additional protection, the installation of a residual
current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating
current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical
circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER
DANGER – As with most electrical appliances, electrical
parts are electrically live even when the switch is off.
To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
• Always unplug the appliance immediately after using.
• Do not place or store an appliance where it can fall or be
pulled into a bath or sink.
• Do not use while bathing.
• Do not place or drop into water or other liquid.
• If an appliance falls into water, “unplug it” immediately. Do not
reach into the water.

3

ELECTROCUTION, AND FIRE, OR INJURY TO PERSONS.

BASIC HAIR CARE INSTRUCTIONS
For optimal results, shampoo and condition your hair prior to
styling. Dry hair thoroughly before using styler and make sure
your hair is tangle free.
The Straightini™ is not suitable for use on synthetic wigs or hair
extensions.
AUTOMATIC VOLTAGE ADJUSTMENT
The Straightini™ features automatic voltage adjustment for
international use. Plug the unit into any domestic power outlet
and it will adjust to the voltage being supplied.
Note: - Some countries will require the use of a plug adaptor that
is not included with your straightener.
HOW TO USE YOUR REMINGTON® STRAIGHTINI™
Carefully place the styler on a flat, hard, heat resistant surface,
ensuring that the sides of the plates do not come in contact
with the surface. Plug in to any household (120/240V AC)
outlet. Switch on and the power on indicator light will glow red,
indicating that power is being supplied to the styler. The power on
indicator light will remain steady for as long as power is supplied
to the styler.
The styler will be ready to use in 1-2 minutes. Take extra care
when using the styler as it can get very hot.
• To make styling easier, section your hair with clips (according
to the thickness of hair), top, middle and underneath, front,
sides and back.
• Straighten the underneath layers of hair first and then work
your way to the top of the head.
• Take a small section of hair and pull taut. If you have particularly
curly or frizzy hair you may need to comb the section of hair for
optimum results. Holding the styler with the other hand, start at
the roots and clamp the hair firmly between the plates.

6
• Glide the styler down through the entire length of the section of
hair from roots to ends without stopping.
• Be sure to hold the styler only by the handle and the cool touch
fingertip grips.
• Repeat until the desired amount of straightening has been
achieved.
MAINTENANCE
This styler is designed for household use and is virtually
maintenance free.
If cleaning becomes necessary, disconnect the unit from the
power outlet, allow it to cool, then wipe the exterior surface and
the ceramic coated plates with a soft damp cloth.
Do not immerse the unit in any liquid. Do not use an abrasive
cleaning fluid or material to clean the ceramic coated plates.
STORAGE
When not in use, always unplug the styler from the power outlet.
Allow the styler to cool and store out of the reach of children in a
safe dry place. Never wrap the power cord around the styler as
this will cause the cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle
the cord carefully for long life and avoid jerking, twisting or
straining especially at the plug connections. If the cord becomes
twisted in use, periodically straighten it. Store your styler with
the plates locked, to ensure that the ceramic coated plates are
protected and prevented from being easily scratched.
WARNING: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs,
showers, basins or other vessels containing water.
This product conforms to radio frequency interference requirements.
Any product purchased and used commercially carries a limited
90 Day Warranty.
