Funktionsweise des H 209
Der H 209 dient im Nebenraum als Subzentrale der Hauptraumanlage. ln bis zu acht mit dem H 209 ausgerüsteten
Nebenräumen können so Komponenten der Hauptanlage gesteuert und gehört werden, ohne im Hauptraum den
Betrieb der Anlage zu beein{lussen.
Der H 209 empfängt die Signale einer gewünschten Hauptraumquelle (CD, Tuner,...) über das Multiroom-Bus Kabel.
Lautstärke, Balance, Höhen sowie Tiefen lassen sich pro Nebenraum separat regeln. Am H 209 kann dann jede Artvon
Verstärker, Endverstärker oder Aktivbox mit normiertem Steuereingang angeschlossen werden, also auch lhre
bisherige Anlage.
Mit den lR Fernbedienungen H 208 oder H 2101207 wird der H 209 gesteuert. lm Betrieb zusammen mit dem Transceiver
H 207 erhält man über das Display des H 2'1 0 sogar Rückmeldungen über den Zustand der Hauptraumanlage sowie
des H 209.
Zusätzlich kann am H 209 im Nebenraum selbst eine Komponente angeschlossen und gehört werden.
Montage des H 209 an die REVOX Aktiv-Lautsprecher
POWER CUBE, AGORA MK II / SLIM LINE
(siehe Fig. 1 auf ausklappbarer Seite)
- Die Lautsprecherbox "auf den Kopf stellen" und 4 Schrauben der Sockelleiste lösen, Sockel entfernen.
- Den H 209 mittels 4 Holzschrauben 4 x 50 an Unterseite der Lautsprecherbox anschrauben.
- Beide mitgelieferten Holzleisten mit je 2 Holzschrauben 5 x 60 anschrauben (in die vormarklerten Bohrungen
schrauben)
Verkabelung H 209 mit montierter Lautsprecherbox

- Das beigepackte Spezialkabel an der Buchse POWERED SPEAKER [8] am H 209 einstecken und mit der
Buchse REMOTE CONTROL einer der oben erwähnten Aktiv-Lautsprecherboxen verbinden.
- Den Schalter POWER-ON/OFF MODE an der Lautsprecherbox in Position "lR" bringen.
- Bei bereits installierter Multiroom-Verkabelung wird das BUS-Kabel am H 209 mit der Buchse AUDIO/DATA
BUS [10] verbunden. Damit ist die gesamte Verbindung vom/zum Hauptraum erstellt und betriebsbereit.
Hinweis: Beim Betrieb mit am Fuss des Lautsprechers montiertem H 209 ist auf f reie Sichtverbindung zwischen dem
lR-Handsenderunddem Empfangsfenster[3] auf derFrontdesH209zu achten. lstdiesz.B.wegeneines
hochflorigen Teppiches nicht möglich, so kann beim H 209 an der Buchse H 207 l5l ein frei plazierbarer lR-
Transceiver H 207 angeschlossen werden.
Für die bidirektionale Steuerung mit dem H 210 ist der H 207 erforderlich I
Einstellung der Kippschalter [6] am H 209
Wichtig! Jeder angeschlossene Nebenraum muss mit Hilfe der Kippschalter 1 ..3 auf eine unterschiedliche Adresse
eingestellt werden (eindeutige Zuordnung des Datenverkehrs).
Schalter 4 in Stellung "ON" (=un1sn) dient zum Sperren der Kommunikation mit dem Hauptraum. Dabei kann die im
Hauptraum laufende Quelle mitgehört, aber keine Hauptraumquelle angewählt werden (= Aufschalten auf den
Multiroom-Bus). Die am AUX INPUT [1 1] angeschlossene, lokale Quelle kann jedoch weiterhin angewählt werden.

Die lR-Subzentrale erlaubt eine umfassende Steuerung mit dem lR-Handsender REVOX H 208 oder mit dem
Tischterminal H 210. Der Handsender H 8 eignet sich nur sehr bedingt zur Bedienung des Subcontrollers, da die direkte
Anwahl von Quellen sowie das Aufschalten auf den Multiroom-Bus damit nicht möglich ist.

Die Einschaltlautstärke entspricht der vor dem letzten Ausschalten gewählten Lautstärke.
Die Bedienungsfunktionen sind im Detail in den Anleitungen für die Fernbedienungen beschrieben.
Besonderheiten
Bei inaktivem Hauptraum wird der aktivierte Nebenraum-Betrieb am H 5 signalisiert durch Leuchten des Bar-Graph
Segmentes (Volume-Anzeige) rechts aussen. ln dieser Betriebsart ist jedoch die Vorstufe des H 5 eingeschaltet, d.h.
das Drücken der Taste POWER am H 5 selbst bewirkt ein Ausschalten der ganzen Anlage inkl. Nebenräume.

Einen markenfremden Aktiv-Lautsprecher, der über ein DC-Steuersignal ein- und ausschaltbar ist, können Sie auch
mit den REVOX lR-Fernbedienungen ein- und ausschalten.

Operating principle of the H 209
The H 209 is used in the ancillary room as a subcenter of the main room system. ln up to eight ancillary rooms equipped
with the H 209 the components of the main system can be controlled and listened to without inf luencing the operation
in the main room.
The H 209 receives the signal of the desired main room source (CD, tuner, ...) via the multiroom bus cable. The volume,
balance, treble and bass can be adjusted separately in the ancillary room. Any type of amplifier, power amplifier or
active box with standard control input, i.e. also your existing equipment, can be connected to the H 209.
The H 209 is controlled with the lR remote controls H 208 or H2101207.1n conjunction with the H 207 transceiver, also
feedbacks concerning the status of the main room systems and the H 209 are obtained on the display of the H 21 0.
ln addition, a component can be connected to the H 209 in the ancillary room and listened to.
lnstalling the H 209 on the REVOX active speakers
POWER CUBE, AGORA MK II / SLIM LINE
(see Fig. 1 on fold-out page)
- Turn the speaker box upside down and unfasten the 4 screws of the strip on the base, remove the base.
- Screw the H 209 with 4 wood screws 4 x 50 to the underside of the speaker box.
- Screw on both supplied wooden strips with 2 screws 5 x 60 each (screw them into the marked bores).

- Connect the bypacked special cable to the POWERED SPEAKER [8] socket on the H 209 and to the REMOTE
CONTROL socket of one of the aforementioned speaker boxes.
- Set the POWER ON/OFF switch on the speaker box to the position "1R".
- lf the multiroom cabling is already installed, the BUS cable should be connected to the AUDIO/DATA BUS [10]
socket. The entire connection from/to the main room is now established and operational.
Note: When operating with an H 209 installed on the base of the speaker, make sure that there is a line of sight
between the hand-held lR transmitter and the receiving window [3] on the front of the H 209. lf this is not
possible because of a deep pile carpet, a freely locatable H 207 lR transceiver can be connected to the
H 207 socket [5] on the H 209.
For bidirectional communication with the H 21 0 the H 207 is required !
Setting the toggle switches [6] on the H 209
lmportant! Each connected ancillary room must be set to a different address with the toggle switches 1..3. (unique
allocation of the data traffic)
Switch 4 in the "ON" position (= down) is used for inhibiting the communication with the main room. ln this case any
source operating in the main room can be listened to, but it is no longer possible to select a main room source (=
connection to the multiroom bus). However, the local source connected to the AUX INPUT [1 1] can still be selected.

terminal is possible. The hand-held transmitter H 8 is only partially suited for operating the subcontroller because direct
selection of sources and connection to the multiroom bus is not feasible with this unit.

Fonctionnement du H 209
Le H 209 sert dans le local annexe de sous-centrale de l'installation du local principal. ll est ainsi possible, dans jusqu'ä
huit locaux annexes 6quip6s du H 209, de commander et d'entendre des composants de l'installation principale sans
influencer le fonctionnement de celle-ci dans le local principal.
Le H 209 regoit les signaux de la source voulue dans le local principal (CD, Tuner,...) par le cäble Multiroom-Bus. Le
volume, la balance, les aigus et les graves peuvent ötre 169l6s s6par6ment pour chaque local annexe. ll est possible
de raccorder au H 209 n'importe quel type d'amplificateur, d'amplificateur de puissance ou d'enceinte active avec
entr6e de commande normalis6e, donc 6galement votre installation actuelle.
Le H 209 estcommand6 avec lest6l6commandes lR H 208,H2101207. En service avec letransceiver H207.on a mÖme
sur l'affichage du H 210 des messages en retour sur l'6tat de l'installation du local principal ainsi que du H 209.
En outre, on peut raccorder un composant au H 209 dans le local annexe et l'6couter.
Montage du H 209 sur les enceintes actives

- Poser l'enceinte ä I'envers, desserrer 4 vis du socle et retirer celui-ci
- Visser le H 209 au moyen de 4 vis ä bois 4 x 50 ä travers les trous sur la face infdrieure de l'enceinte.
- Visser les deux reglettes livrees avec chaque fois 2 vis ä bois 5 x 60 dans les trous pr6marqu6s.
Cäblage du H 209 avec enceinte acoustique mont6e
(voir fig. 1 sur la page rabattable)
- Enficher le cäble sp6cialjoint ä la prise POWERED SPEAKER [8] du H 209 et relier ä la prise REMOTE CONTROL
d'une des deux enceintes actives mentionn6es ci-dessus.
- Mettre le commutateur POWER-ON/OFF MODE de l'enceinte acoustique en position "lR".
- Lorsque le cäblage Multiroom est d6jä install6, le cäble BUS du H 209 est enfiche dans la prise AUDIO/DATA
BUS 1101. Cela 6tablit tout le cäblage vers le local principal et depuis celui-ci, ce cäblage est pröt ä fonction-
ner.
Remarque: En service avec H 209 au pied du haut-parleur, il faut veiller ä assurer la vue directe entre l'6metteur
manuel lR et la fenötre de r6ception [3] ä l'avant du H 209. Si cela n'est pas possible ä cause d'un tapis
ä poils longs, on peut raccorder ä la prise H 207 l5l du H 209 un lR transceiver H 207 qui peut ötre plac6
ä volont6.
Pour le service bidirectionnel avec le H 210, il faut un H 207!
R6glage des commutateurs ä bascule [6] sur le H 209
lmportant! Chaque local annexe raccord6 doit ötre 16916 ä une adresse differente au moyen des commutateurs ä
bascule 1..3 (affectation univoque du trafic de donn6es).
Mettre le commutateur 4 en position "ON" (= en bas) pour bloquer la communication avec le local principal. On peut
ainsi ecouter la source en service dans le local principal mais on ne peut s6lectionner de source dans celui-ci (=
enclenchement sur le Multiroom-Bus). La source locale raccord6e ä AUX INPUT [1 1] peut cependant toujours ötre
selectionn6e.

La sous-centrale lR permet une commande complöte avec l'6metteur lR manuel REVOX H 208 ou avec le terminal de
table H 210. L'6metteur manuel H 8 ne convient que de maniöre trös restreinte ä l'utilisation du sous-contröleur 6tant
donn6 que la selection directe de sources et I'enclenchement sur le Multiroom-Bus ne sont pas possibles.

Garantieleistungen. Die Garantie ist in diesem Fall nur im Verkaufsland gültig.
Die Garantie erlischt bei unsachgemässen Eingriffen oder nicht fachmännisch durchgeführten Reparaturen.

warranty covers labor and material during at least 12 months from the date of purchase. ln all other respects the warranty
is subject to the laws of the corresponding country.
ln all other countries either the legal provisions or the warranty granted by the REVOX dealer is applicable. ln this case
the warranty is only valid within the country of sale.
The warranty becomes null and void if the equipment has been tampered with or repaired by inexperienced persons.
