Anchors
Hand Anchor
Recommended use
Hand Anchors (see Figure 4a) can be used
on any available Rifton tables or trays.
They give the client an anchor to control
excessive movement of the arms and
encourage stabilization of the shoulder
girdle. The client may hold on with both
hands for stabilization training or with just
one hand. One size is available for both
children and adults.
Grab bar
Recommended use
The grab bar (see Figure 4b) can provide
a firm handhold to stabilize one or both
hands on a table or tray. Stability to the
hand and arm may be beneficial for head
and trunk control while sitting, and allows
increased functional use of the other arm.
One size is available for both children
and adults.
Elbow Anchor
Recommended use
The elbow Anchor (see Figure 4c) stabilizes
one arm on a table or tray. A pair can be
used to stabilize both arms. It provides
increased stability to the forearm and
may be beneficial for head and trunk
control while sitting and allows increased
functional use of the other arm.
One size of right and left elbow Anchors
are available for both children and adults.
Individuals with a wrist-to-elbow distance
greater than 8 inches will benefit from the
elbow Anchor the most.

Wrist Anchor
Recommended use
The wrist Anchor (see Figure 5a) is
intended to be used to stabilize one arm
on a table or tray. A pair can be used to
stabilize both arms. Providing increased
stability to the forearm, the wrist Anchor
may be beneficial for head and trunk
control while sitting and allows increased
functional use of the other arm. One size is
available for both children and adults.
Horizontal Anchor
Recommended use
The horizontal Anchor (see Figure 5b)
can provide a firm handhold to stabilize
one arm on a table or tray. The horizontal
Anchor may be beneficial for head and
trunk control while sitting and allows
increased functional use of the other arm.
One size is available for both children and
adults.
Arm Anchor
Recommended use
The arm Anchor (see Figure 5c) can be
used to stabilize one arm on a table or tray.
A pair can stabilize both arms. Providing
increased stability to the forearm, the
arm Anchor may be beneficial for head
and trunk control while sitting and allows
increased functional use of the other arm.
Place arm on anchor pad and secure it with
arm strap (A) and wrist strap (B). Arm and
wrist straps adjust and secure with hook
and loop fasteners.

Operation
Anchors work best on a clean, smooth
table or tray. The surface must be very
smooth and completely clean to get a
strong seal. If suction cup does not hold
well, wipe with a damp cloth or apply a
thin layer of petroleum jelly around the rim
of the rubber pad to enhance the vacuum.
To tighten the hand Anchor and the wrist
Anchor, press down on the suction cup and
turn handhold clockwise until secure. Turn
handhold counterclockwise to remove (see
Figure 6a).
The other Anchors are tightened by
pressing down on the suction cup and
moving the lever down (see Figure 6b).
Lift the lever to remove.
