READ THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE OPERATING AND RESERVE IT FOR FUTURE
REFERENCE. REFER TO IT WHEN ENCOUNTERING ANY OPERATING PROBLEM.

speakers, do not disassemble the player. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
Contact technical support for further assistance.

and water bottles, should not be placed on or near the player. Do not touch the
unit with wet hands.

• Use only the attachments/accessories provided by the manufacturer, except for a

blades with one wider than the other. If the provided plug does not fit into your

tions.

GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION (BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED)
The boombox takes 6 C batteries. It also plugs into an outlet with the AC cable
provided, so batteries are not necessary.
Unplug the boombox from the wall before installing batteries!
To install batteries into the boombox:
1. Open the battery cover on the bottom of the boombox.
2. Insert the batteries, matching the “+” and “–” signs with the batteries.
3. Replace the battery cover.
If the boombox unit is not used for an extended period of time, remove the bat-
teries before storing it.
SETTING THE TIME
1. Make sure the unit is off (in STANDBY mode). Press STANDBY to
turn the boom box off if necessary.
2. Press and hold the PROGRAM Button. The time will flash.
3. Use the previous ( ) and next ( ) buttons to set the hour.
4. Press PROGRAM to continue.
5. Use the previous ( ) and next ( ) buttons to set the minute.
6. Press PROGRAM to complete the time setup.
POWERING ON THE BOOMBOX
If the boombox is off, press the STANDBY button to turn it on.
Press the SOURCE button multiple times to access the different modes on
the boombox. Press the SOURCE button until the desired mode is selected.
The source button cycles through the different modes in the following order:
AM / FM / CD / USB / CD / BT / AUX
The display on the front of the boombox should indicate the current mode.
We’ll discuss in the next sections how to use each mode.

AM/FM RADIO MODE
1. If the boombox is off, press the STANDBY button to turn it on.
2. Press the SOURCE button until AM or FM mode appears on the display.
3. Press /TUN- or /TUN+ repeatedly to tune the desired station
manually, or press and hold these buttons to automatically seek for the
next higher or lower station.
4. Adjust the volume as needed with the VOL - and VOL + buttons.
When tuning FM broadcasts, pull out the telescopic antenna and adjust
the position to get better reception. Press FM ST/Mono to switch between
Stereo and Mono playback.
The telescopic antenna is not required for AM, as AM uses an internal
antenna. If you’re listening to AM Radio and the signal is weak, adjust the
direction and position of the boombox itself to try and get better reception.
STORING RADIO STATION PRESETS
Using the PRESET button in FM or AM radio mode, up to 20 station presets
can be saved and recalled later. To store a radio station in memory:
1. Tune to the station you wish to store.
2. Press the PROGRAM button. The preset number will be displayed.
3. Press /TUN- or /TUN+ to select the preset number you want to
save this station under.
4. Press the PROGRAM button again to save the station.
CD PLAYBACK
1. Lift open the CD door. If a CD is already loaded in the tray, remove it.
2. Insert a CD with the label facing up.
3. Close the CD door.
4. Press the SOURCE button until the display switches to CD mode.
5. Press to begin playing, or to pause. Adjust the volume as need-
ed with the VOL - and VOL + buttons.
6. Press or to select the next or previous song/track on the CD.
You can also press Folder+/10+ to skip ahead by 10 tracks.
7. To stop playing, press STOP. To pause, press

USB / SD CARD PLAYBACK
This boombox supports USB/SD drive sizes of up to 32GB (FAT 32 Format).
1. Insert an SD or USB device into the SD or USB slot.
2. Press the SOURCE button until the display switches to SD or USB
mode, whichever is desired. The boombox will take a moment read
the files and display a file count.
3. Press to begin playing, or to pause.
4. Press or to select the next or previous song/track.
5. To stop playing , press STOP.
During playback, press and hold or seek forward or backward on the
track that is playing.
BLUETOOTH CONNECTION AND PLAYBACK
This boombox allows you to connect mobile devices, such as your phone, to
play back through the boombox speakers.
1. Press SOURCE until the display shows “BT”
2. The unit may now attempt to connect to a previously paired device.
If not, perform a BlueTooth scan from your phone or other BlueTooth
sound source and pair with the boombox, which is “CDB490-BT”.
3. After pairing is successful, the “BT” indicator will stop flashing.
You can now start playing music on your other device through the
boombox.
Depending on the device used, you may be able to use to play
and pause, or / to select the next or previous song/track.
To disconnect the BlueTooth device or search for a new BlueTooth device, press
and hold the PAIR button.
AUX IN (AUXILLARY INPUT)
You can connect audio devices such as a phone, mp3 player or other device
with a 3.5mm output to the boombox’s AUX input. Connect the device, then
press the SOURCE button until the display switches to AUX mode. You can
now play back music from your connected device. Adjust the volume on the
device and boombox as needed.

OTHER FUNCTIONS
PROGRAMMING A PLAYLIST
The boombox can be programmed to remember up to 20 tracks, as follows:
1. While stopped in CD, SD, or USB mode, press the PROGRAM button.
2. Use or to select the desired track.
3. Press PROGRAM again.
4. Repeat the process to store up to 20 tracks.
To exit PROGRAM mode and return to normal mode, press STOP twice.
OTHER PLAYBACK FUNCTIONS
• During CD or MP3 playback, press Folder+/10+ to skip ahead by 10 tracks.
• During USB/SD playback, press and hold Folder+/10+ to skip to the next
folder on the media.
• Press the RANDOM button to play tracks from CD, SD or USB in random
order. This does not working when listening to a playlist of programmed
tracks, however.
• Press REPEAT once to loop the current song repeatedly. Press REPEAT
a second time to repeat ALL tracks on the CD or USB/SD directory. Press
the REPEAT button a third time to disable repeating. When repeat is dis-
abled, playing will stop after all tracks have been played.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE BOOMBOX
• UNPLUG THE UNIT BEFORE CLEANING. Use a so, damp cloth to clean the
outside. Do not wipe any internal parts or get them wet. Soapy water should
be suicient. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents.
DISC HANDLING
• Do not expose discs to heat, direct
sunlight, or high humidity environ-
ments. In warmer weather, do not
leave discs inside a parked vehicle.
• Do not touch the disc surface
while handling the disc.
Instead, hold the edges.
• Fingerprints, dust, dirt, and
scratches can distort the sound
quality on your disc, or cause play-
back to skip. Beware of scratch-
es on the disc inhibiting the laser
beam system from reading and
playing the disc correctly. Clean
discs before use.
• Do not use paper, tape, or adhesive
labelsondiscs.Only use permanent
makers on the top side of the disc.

TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM SOLUTION
No power to unit • Connect the power cord or install batteries.
No sound from the
speakers
• Make sure volume is up, and the unit has
power.
• Make sure headphones are not connected.
• Make sure that the correct mode is selected for
the music source you are using. Use the mode
button and/or function selector
• If using AUX mode, make sure that
Disc does not play prop-
erly
• Ensure that the disc is an Audio or MP3 CD.
• Ensure the CD door is closed.
• Ensure the disc is not scratched or dirty (dusty,
soil, fingerprints, etc.) Try cleaning the disc.
• Clean discs with a soft cloth, wiping
from the center outwards. DO NOT
wipe in a circular fashion
• Do not use solvents such as ben-
zene, household cleaning products
(except those designed for CD/DVD
use), or anti-static spray for vinyl re-
cords, as this can damage your de-
vice and discs.
• Ensure the label always faces up
when putting discs into the player.
• Store discs in their cases when not
in use.
• Stacking discs or standing them on
end can cause them to warp.

Riptunes™ warrants this product against defects in
material and workmanship to the original purchaser as
specified below provided product is registered online
within fourteen (14) days of purchase.
PARTS – if the product is determined to
have a manufacturing defect, within a
period of one (1) year from the date of the
original purchase, Riptunes™ will repair or
replace the product parts at no charge (for
parts) to you in the U.S.A. and Canada.
LABOR – if the product is determined to
have a manufacturing defect, within a
period of ninety (90) Days from the date of
the original purchase, Riptunes™ will repair
or replace the product at no charge to you
in the U.S.A. and Canada, After ninety (90)
days it will be the responsibility of the
consumer.
Shipping costs to and from our warranty service center
is the sole responsibility of the consumer.
To obtain warranty service by an authorized Riptunes™
service center, please email us at: support@rip-
tunes.com to obtain a Repair and Maintenance
Authorization (RMA) number and to locate the service
center nearest you. Once authorized, you must mail
the product, to the authorized Riptunes™ service
center in its original product packaging materials or
equivalent, to prevent damage while in transit.
Further, should Riptunes™ determine that the product
is outside of the Warranty term, Riptunes™ will return
the product to sender at sender’s expense without
being repaired or replaced, unless authorized by the
consumer to service the out of warranty product at
consumer’s expense. All handling or restocking charges
for returns and/or replacements shall be non-
refundable.
Riptunes™ specifically excludes from this warranty any
non-electric/mechanical attachments, accessories and
disposable parts including but not limited to outside
case, connecting cables, batteries and AC adaptors.
Riptunes™ reserves the right to repair or replace
defective products with the same, equivalent or newer
models.
We reserve the right to either repair or replace
product at our discretion. Replacement may be either
new or refurbished and while every endeavor will be
made to ensure it is the same model, if same model is
not available it will replaced with a model of equal or
higher specification.
Normal “Wear and Tear” is not covered by this
warranty. Further, Riptunes™ hereby reserves the right
to determine “Wear and Tear” on any and all products.
Tampering or opening the product casting or shell, will
void this warranty in its entirety.

COMENZANDO
INSTALACIÓN DE LAS BATERÍAS (LAS BATERÍAS NO SE INCLUYEN)
Para funcionar, la Boombox requiere de 6 baterías tipo “C”. También se puede
conectar en cualquier tomacorrientes con el cable de suministra de energía, de
modo que las baterías no son necesarias.
Antes de colocar las baterías, desconecte la Boombox del suministro de energía!
Para instalar las baterías en la Boombox:
1. Abra la tapa del compartimento
de baterías en la parte inferior
de la Boombox.
2. Inserte las baterías haciendo
coincidir la polaridad, señales
“+” y “–” con las baterías.
3. Vuelva a colocar la tapa del com-
partimento de baterías
Si la Boombox no se va a usar por un periodo largo de tiempo, retire las baterías
antes de almacenarla.
AJUSTANDO LA HORA
1. Asegúrese de que la unidad esté apagada, en modo de Espera
(Standby). Presione el botón STANDBY para apagar la Boombox en
caso de que esté encendida.
2. Presione y sostenga el botón PROGRAM. La hora comenzará a par-
padear.
3. Utilice los botones ( ) y ( ) para ajustar la hora.
4. Presione PROGRAM para continuar.
5. Utilice los botones ( ) y ( ) para ajustar los minutos.
6. Presione PROGRAM para completar el ajuste de la hora.
ENCENDIENDO LA BOOMBOX
Si la Boombox está apagada, presione el botón STANDBY para encenderla.
Presione el botón SOURCE varias veces para acceder a los diferentes modos
de funcionamiento de la Boombox. Presione el botón SOURCE hasta que se
muestre el modo deseado. El botón SOURCE recorre los diferentes modos:
AM / FM / CD / USB / CD / BT / AUX
La pantalla al frente de la Boombox deberá indicar el modo actual. En las
siguientes secciones se discute cómo usar cada modo.

MODO RADIO AM/FM
1. Si la Boombox está apagada, presione el botón STANDBY para
encenderla.
2. Presione el botón SOURCE hasta que el modo AM o FM aparezca en la
pantalla.
3. Presione los botones /TUN- o /TUN+ repetidamente para
sintonizar la estación deseada manualmente., o presione y sostenga
estos botones para realizar la búsqueda automática para buscar la la
estación previa o siguiente estación, respectivamente.
4. Ajuste el volumen conforme sea necesario con los botones VOL + y VOL -.
Cuando sintonice las estaciones de FM, saque la antena telescópica y ajuste
la posición para obtener una mejor recepción. Presione FM ST/Mono para
cambiar entre la reproducción estéreo y mono.
La antena telescópica no es necesaria para AM, ya que AM utiliza una antena
interna. Si está escuchando radio AM y la señal es débil, ajuste la dirección
y la posición de la propia Boombox para intentar conseguir una mejor
recepción.
ALMACENANDO ESTACIONES DE RADIO PRESELECCIONADAS
Usando el botón PRESET en el modo de radio FM o AM, se pueden guardar
hasta 20 preselecciones de estaciones y recuperarlas más tarde. Para alma-
cenar una estación de radio en la memoria:
1. Sintonice la estación que desea almacenar.
2. Presione el botón PROGRAM.
3. Presione los botones /TUN- o /TUN+ para seleccionar el núme-
ro de preselección en donde desea almacenar esta estación.
4. Presione nuevamente el botón PROGRAM button again to save the
station.
REPRODUCCIÓN DE CD
1. Levante la tapa del compartimento de CD. Si ya hay un CD en la
bandeja, retírelo.
2. Inserte un CD en la bandeja con la etiqueta hacia arriba.
3. Cierre la tapa del compartimento de CD.
4. Presione el botón SOURCE hasta que el modo CD aparezca en la
pantalla.
