INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the Riptunes Bluetooth® Cas-
sette Boombox. Read these instructions before using your Boom-
box to get the most enjoyment from your new unit.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE READ THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE OPERATING AND
RESERVE IT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. IT WILL BE HELPFUL TO YOU
IF YOU ENCOUNTER ANY OPERATING PROBLEM.
1. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to
the unit’s main speakers, do not disassemble the unit. There
are no user-serviceable parts inside. Contact technical sup-
port for further assistance.
2. WARNING: To prevent fire or electric shock hazard, do not ex-
pose the unit to rain or moisture (including drips or splashes).
Objects filled with liquids, such as vases and water bottles,
should not be placed on or near the unit.
3. WARNING: The unit uses a Laser System. To prevent direct ex-
posure to the laser beam, do not open the unit. Visible and in-
visible laser radiation is present when the unit is open. Avoid
direct exposure. Do not stare into the beam.
4. WARNING: Do not expose the Boombox or batteries to exces-
sive heat, such as direct sunlight, fire, or other heat sources.
5. WARNING: Use only the attachments/accessories provided by
the manufacturer, except for a standard 3.5 mm auxiliary ca-
ble.
6. Do not place objects on top of the unit.
7. Do not place the system on an unstable table, stand, tripod,
bracket or cart. The unit may fall, resulting in possible damage
or injury.
8. Unplug the power from the outlet during lightning storms or
when the unit is not in use.
9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or ground-
ing-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider
than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a
third grounding prong. The wide blade and/or the third prong

are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit
into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the
obsolete outlet.
10. Protect the POWER cord from being walked on or pinched
particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point
where they exit from the apparatus.
11. Dispose of this unit properly, respecting your local laws for
electronics and battery disposal.

Riptunes™ warrants this product against defects in
material and workmanship to the original purchaser as
specified below provided product is registered online
within fourteen (14) days of purchase.
PARTS –if the product is determined to
have a manufacturing defect, within a
period of one (1) year from the date of the
original purchase, Riptunes™ will repair or
replace the product parts at no charge (for
parts) to you in the U.S.A. and Canada.
LABOR –if the product is determined to
have a manufacturing defect, within a
period of ninety (90) Days from the date of
the original purchase, Riptunes™ will repair
or replace the product at no charge to you
in the U.S.A. and Canada, After ninety (90)
days it will be the responsibility of the
consumer.
Shipping costs to and from our warranty service center
is the sole responsibility of the consumer.
To obtain warranty service by an authorized Riptunes™
service center, please email us at: support@rip-
tunes.com to obtain a Repair and Maintenance
Authorization (RMA) number and to locate the service
center nearest you. Once authorized, you must mail
the product, to the authorized Riptunes™ service
center in its original product packaging materials or
equivalent, to prevent damage while in transit.
Further, should Riptunes™ determine that the product
is outside of the Warranty term, Riptunes™ will return
the product to sender at sender’s expense without
being repaired or replaced, unless authorized by the
consumer to service the out of warranty product at
consumer’s expense. All handling or restocking charges
for returns and/or replacements shall be non-
refundable.
Riptunes™ specifically excludes from this warranty any
non-electric/mechanical attachments, accessories and
disposable parts including but not limited to outside
case, connecting cables, batteries and AC adaptors.
Riptunes™ reserves the right to repair or replace
defective products with the same, equivalent or newer
models.
We reserve the right to either repair or replace
product at our discretion. Replacement may be either
new or refurbished and while every endeavor will be
made to ensure it is the same model, if same model is
not available it will replaced with a model of equal or
higher specification.
Normal “Wear and Tear” is not covered by this
warranty. Further, Riptunes™ hereby reserves the right
to determine “Wear and Tear” on any and all products.
Tampering or opening the product casting or shell, will
void this warranty in its entirety.
Also this warranty does not apply if the product has
been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, or
misapplication; has been altered or modified without
the written permission of Riptunes™; has been
serviced by a non-authorized repair center of
Riptunes™; has not been properly maintained or
operated according to the operation manual; has
been used for commercial, non-household purposes;
cosmetically damaged; was not imported by
Riptunes™; was not manufactured according to
specification of the United States market; improper
installation or neglect; damaged due to improper
packaging in shipment; damaged due to natural
disasters; if the serial number for the product has
been removed or defaced; or for cosmetic damages.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
POWERING THE UNIT
Installing the batteries
1. Open the battery door on the rear of the unit
2. Insert 4 size “D” batteries (not included) following the diagram
on the inside of the battery panel
3. Click the battery panel back into place
NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the AC power outlet be-
fore using the battery.
Connecting the AC Power Cord
1. Connect the enclosed AC Power Cord into the AC Socket (21)
on the rear of the unit
NOTE: Remove batteries before connecting the power cord to an
AC power outlet.
PLAYING MUSIC/AUDIO
Your Cassette/Recorder Boombox plays music and audio from the
internal tape cassette, AM/FM receiver and/or shortwave receiv-
er. It can also manage playback from external sources such as an
SD/MMC memory cards, a USB stick or connected device and/or a
Bluetooth connected device.
Playing Music and Audio from the AM/FM/SW1/SW2 Receiver
To play the radio:
1. Move the Mode Switch (12) to Radio
2. Move the Band switch (3) to AM, FM, SW1 (3.0-13.0 MHz) or
SW2 (13.0-23.0 MHz)
3. The Radio automatically begins playing
4. Adjust the Tuning Control (14) to select the desired radio sta-
tion or shortwave frequency
5. Adjust the Volume Control (2) to the desired listening level
6. Adjust the antenna for best reception

Playing Music from the Cassette Tape Player
1. Open the Cassette Tape dock (4) by pressing the Cassette Tape
STOP/EJECT button (9)
2. Insert the cassette tape
3. Push the Casette Tape dock closed until it clicks
4. Move the Mode Switch (12) to the Tape position
5. Press the Cassette Tape PLAY button (6) to begin playback
6. Use the Volume Control (2) to adjust to the desired listening
level
7. Press the Cassette Tape PAUSE button (10) to pause playback
or the Cassette Tape STOP/EJECT button (9) to stop playback
Skipping Songs When Using the Cassette Tape Player
To skip to the next or previous song:
1. Press the Cassette Tape STOP/EJECT button (9)
2. Press the Cassette Tape FFWD button (8) or the Cassette Tape
REW button (7)
3. Once you’ve reached the desired play location, press the Cas-
sette Tape STOP/EJECT button (9) again
4. Press the Cassette Tape PLAY button (6)
Pairing and Playing through a Bluetooth Device
As mentioned before, you can also connect and play music from
Bluetooth devices or by either connecting a USB cable/device or
inserting an SD/MMC memory card.
1. Enable Bluetooth on the device you are connecting for play-
back (Refer to your device manufacturer’s instructions)
2. Move the Mode Switch (12) to the Bluetooth Music position (for
BT/USB/SD)
3. Press the Bluetooth Music button until the BT Indicator Light
blinks to indicate it is in pairing mode
4. On your Bluetooth device, perform a Bluetooth device discov-
ery to add the RACR400 as a new connected device
5. When the Bluetooth device is discovered, it will display
“RACR400” in its Bluetooth menu. If your device asks for a

password, enter 0000. You may also need to set the RACR400
as an authorized or trusted device
6. Once the Receiver/Cassette Recorder has successfully paired
with your device, the BT Indicator Light will turn solid red
7. Press the Digital Music PAUSE/PLAY button (17) to start play-
back
8. Press the Digital Music NEXT button (18) to skip forward or the
Digital Music PREV button (16) to skip to the previous song
9. Press the Digital Music PAUSE/PLAY button (17) to top playback
Playing Music through an SD/MMC Card
1. Move the Mode Switch (12) to the Bluetooth Music position (for
BT/USB/SD)
2. Insert your SD/MMC Card into the SD/MMC Card Slot (19)
3. Press the Digital Music PAUSE/PLAY button (17) to start play-
back
4. Press the Digital Music NEXT button (18) to skip forward or the
Digital Music PREV button (16) to skip to the previous song
5. Press the Digital Music PAUSE/PLAY button (17) to stop play-
back
Playing Music through a USB Stick/Connected Device
1. Move the Mode Switch (12) to the Bluetooth Music position (for
BT/USB/SD)
2. Plug one end of a USB cable (or stick ) into the USB Input Jack
(20)
3. Plug the other end into your external storage device
4. Press the Digital Music PAUSE/PLAY button (17) to start play-
back
5. Press the Digital Music NEXT button (18) to skip forward or the
Digital Music PREV button (16) to skip to the previous song
6. Press the Digital Music PAUSE/PLAY button (17) to stop play-
back
Note: Please do not remove the SD/MMC Card or USB connection
during playback. This can damage your files.

RECORDING FROM THE MIC/RADIO
Recording to Cassette Tape using the Built-in Condenser Microphone
1. Open the Casette Tape dock (4) by pressing the Cassette Tape
STOP/EJECT button (9)
2. Insert the cassette tape
3. Push the Casette Tape dock closed until it clicks
4. Move the Mode Switch (12) to the Tape position
5. Press the Cassette Tape RECORD button (6) to begin recording
6. Press the Cassette Tape PAUSE button (10) to pause recording
or the Cassette Tape STOP/EJECT button (9) to stop recording
Recording from the Built-in Radio
1. Open the Casette Tape dock (4) by pressing the Cassette Tape
STOP/EJECT button (9)
2. Insert the cassette tape
3. Push the Casette Tape dock closed until it clicks
4. Move the Mode Switch (12) to the desired AM/FM SW1/SW2 Ra-
dio position
5. Press the Cassette Tape RECORD button (6) to begin recording
6. Press the Cassette Tape PAUSE button (10) to pause recording
or the Cassette Tape STOP/EJECT button (9) to stop recording
Listening with Headphones
For private listening:
1. Insert the plug of a headphone (not included) into the Head-
phone Jack
2. Adjust the Volume Control (2) to the desired listening level
NOTE: When headphones are connected, the built-in speaker is
automatically disconnected.

MAINTENANCE
Cleaning of the Heads, Plinch Rollers and Capstans
To assure optimal performance from your Riptunes Boombox and
prevent accumulation of dust and tape oxide deposits, you’ll need
to periodically clean the heads, pinch rollers and capstans as fol-
lows:
1. Press the Cassette Tape STOP/EJECT BUTTON and remove the
cassette tape
2. Using a cotton swab moistened with alcohol (methylated spir-
its) or special head-cleaning fluid, carefully rub the face of the
heads and the surface of the capstans and the pinch rollers.
We suggest you turn the Receiver/Cassette Recorder o when not
in use to avoid unnecessary energy consumption.
WARNING
To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this appliance to
rain or moisture. Do not remove cover (or back) as there are no
user-serviceable parts inside. Please refer servicing to qualified
service personnel.

PROBLEM SOLUTION
Noise or sound distorted on AM/FM or
Shortwave broadcast.
• Retune the AM or FM station.
• Reposition the Boombox and/or
antenna to get the best recep-
tion.
No sound from AM or FM.
• Ensure Mode Switch is in the
RADIO position.
• Increase Volume.
• Unplug the 3.5mm cable.
Tape will not play.
• Ensure the Mode Switch is in the
Tape position.
• Unplug the 3.5mm cable.
Sound is distorted at high volume
setting.

Les frais d’expédition à destinationet à partir de notre centre
de servicede garantie sont à la charge du consommateur.
Pour obtenir le service de garantie par un centre de service
autorisé Riptunes™, veuillez nous écrire à :support@rip-
tunes.com pour obtenir une autorisation de réparation et
d’entretien (ARE)ainsi que pour localiser le centre de service
de garantie le plus près de vous. Une fois autorisé, vous devez
envoyer le produit au centre de service autorisé Riptunes™
dans ses matériaux d’emballage d’origine ou l’équivalent,
pour évitertout dommage pendant le transport.
De plus, si Riptunes™ devaitdéterminer que le produit est en
dehors des conditions de la garantie, Riptunes™ retournerale
produit à l’expéditeuraux frais de celui-ci sans être réparé ou
remplacé, sauf s’il est autorisé parle con sommateurà servir
le produit à garantie expiré aux frais du consommateur. Tous
les frais de manutention ou de réapprovisionnement pour les
retourse t/ou lesremplacements seront non remboursables.
Riptunes™ exclutexpressément de cette garantie toutespièces
jointes non électriques/mécaniques, accessoires et pièces
jetables, y compris, mais non limité à, l’extérieur du boîtier,
les câbles de connexion, batteries et adaptateurs secteur.
Riptunes™ se réserve le droit de réparer ou de remplacer les
produits défectueux avec des modèles identiques,équivalents
ou plusrécents.
Nous nous réservons le droit de réparer ou de remplacer le
produit à notre discrétion. Le remplacement peut être soit
neuf ou remis à neuf et alors que tous les efforts seront faits

que personnelles, a été esthétiquement endommagé, n’a
pas été importé par Riptunes™, n’a pas été fabriqué selon
les spécifications du marché des États-Unis, a été
endommagé suite à une mauvaise installation ou à une
négligence dela part des consommateurs, a été endommagé
suite à un mauvais emballagelors de l’expé dition au centre
de service de garantie, a été endommagé en raison de
catastrophes naturelles ou si le numéro desérie du produit
a étéretiré ou rendu illisible.
