1SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1.1 GENERAL
Every user must become acquainted with the machine’s safety and operating instructions and obey
them.
In addition to the manual, one must act according to the regulations and laws of the country and local
work safety authorities.
Use of the machine for tasks other than which it was designed for is at user’s own responsibility. The
supplier or manufacturer is not responsible for any liabilities or damages caused by such usage.
1.2 SAFETY AT WORK
Learn to know the machine, its capacity and restrictions.
Learn the operation and functions of the machine thoroughly before use.
The work safety of the machine has to be inspected before every use. If flaws or deficiencies are
found, repairs have to be made immediately.
The use of a machine that is out of order is forbidden.
Before starting up the machine one must ensure it will not cause harm to other people or property.
If you notice movement on the working area within the safety distance (30m) – stop the machine.

2
Exceeding the given performance values is forbidden.
All the safety- and warning signs on the machine must be legible and intact.
Always shut down the engine when exiting the cabin of the vehicle and empty possible pressure
accumulators according to the vehicle manufacturers’ instructions. This way you avoid
unintentional movement of the equipment.
Do not go under the machine. Support the machine well during repairs.
When maintaining the machine ensure its immobility.
When you stop working, ensure the equipment does not move while you are away.
Leave the machine on a level surface and ensure its immobility while you are away.
Tasks regarding the hydraulic equipment may only be done by educated and experienced
hydraulics-mounters.
Do not open the hoses while they are under pressure.
Inspect the machine for possible oil leakages. Renew worn hoses before they break. Pay special
attention that the pressure classes on the hoses and connectors correspond to the pressures on use.
Check that safety systems, e.g. pressure limitation vents are intact and in place. The safety systems
must be in order.
Renew or repair faulty parts immediately. Weld tears that have appeared immediately.
Use original spare parts, or adequate hoses or connectors according to the manufacturer’s
recommendations.
One must have a written permission from the manufacturer for any alteration on the machine.

3
Clean the area under repair. Do not use solvents for cleaning.
Make sure that the used oil is clean.
If any oil gets in to the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water after which one must go see a
medical doctor.
Avoid skin contact with oil –protect yourself with clean overalls.
Do not let oil get into the environment.
2INTRODUCTION AND USAGE
2.1 GENERAL
Risutec TK-120B is meant to be attached to an excavator. To use the machine a ½ inch pressure line
and 5/8 inch tank line are needed. Voltage 24 V unless agreed otherwise. The equipment can only be
installed by a professional mechanic. The machine can plant pot seedlings max. 55-60 mm in
diameter and max 40 cm in total lenght.
2.2 USAGE
Risutec TK-120B is meant for planting forest seedlings. It is especially suitable for pine and spruce.
Risutec TK-120B makes subsoiling with mounding plate, irrigates with water or water gel and
spreads the herbicide and fertilizer if they have been put in the machine.
There are three buttons in the excavator cabin. One button is for planting and possibly other two for
opening/closing the plate if an optional turning mounding plate is attached. If TASK or ASTA
programs are in use, there is a fourth button for them.
The machine is provided with a 120 pcs seedling cassette.

4
Mounding with plate:
The plate is set peak first to the ground and pulled along the surface about 10 cm deep. The mineral
ground must be revealed. The pulled ground is turned over the untouched ground leaving mineral
ground on top. The machine is moved lightly on top of the formed mound and the seedling is
planted. There is a yellow light on the side of the machine for indicating that the planting circle is
done. When the light switches on, the equipment must be quickly lifted off away from the seedling.
Warnings:
The machine is designed for pulling motion.
The machine can’t be used for lateral motions because they can cause the suspension to twist.
While planting the machine must be kept straight to achieve the best results.
Starting planting:
Secure that the tube is up. Put Automate (AUTO) on. Green light indicates that the function is
active.
Then go to the Control page and choose optionals: Fertilizer, Water pump and/or Herbicide on.
Notice that the water pump has a continuous irrigation as an option. That is meant for watering
seedlings, washing windows etc. with a possible separate hose.
When you want to plant press the planting button. Machine does all adjusted processes itself. Lift
the unit up immediately when the yellow light outside the machine is on. It tells that the
seedling is compressed and tube hatchet will close soon. Normal seedling circle lasts 3-4 seconds.
Blue light will be shown when the next seedling is in tube. The time the light is on can be adjusted
to make it easier to monitor.
Attention! If there is a problem with the process, just simply take the auto off. The process
will stop. If there are problems, stop the engine before going out the cabin!
Attention! The rounds of the motor of the excavator affect the planting head. When installing
the machine all the adjusting of the planting head are done according to rpm of the excavator.
They can’t be changed.

counts down from 10 000 seedlings. Can be checked out on the maintenance page by pressing
button #2.
3 Contact service!= Contact importer’s/manufacturer’s maintenance. Can be checked out on the
maintenance page by pressing button #3.

7
4 Update the program!= The automation of the planting machine’s program will only be switched
on after the manufacturer has been connected to the machine and checked the program. Contact the
manufacturer after 100 hours of use!
