General instructions
The delivery includes the selected filter cartridge. The cartridge is already pre-installed in the filter housing. All installation work should be
carried out and checked by experts. riva is not liable for faulty installation.
Make sure that the water in and outlet are installed correctly. The arrow on the body and cartridge indicates the direction of flow which
must be observed.
In the event of improper installation, no liability is assumed for any damage arising. Protect from frost. The filter cartridge should be chan-
ged after 6 months (DIN 1988). However, an earlier change may be necessary if the water flow is noticeably/ visibly reduced. A previously
necessary change is not a defect in the cartridge used, but an indication of an increased occurrence of fine particles in the unfiltered water.
For use in conjunction with a hot water boiler or instantaneous water heater, please contact your system specialist. When installed under the
sink, the filter must be professionally connected directly to the angle valve of the cold water pipe. In exceptional cases, condensation water
may form in the filter housing of very cold water in the supply line for physical reasons. An installation always requires the installation of a
certified check valve / inlet stop or a water stop system, e.g. Aquastop.
IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE YOU BEGIN
• You need a riva VARIO filter housing, a riva filter cartridge and a riva
hose connection set with adapters.
• Before starting the assembly, close the water supply line at the
corresponding water pipe.
• Remove the filter housing from the packaging. The filter cartridge is
already inserted in the housing.
• Required tool: fork wrench 24 (fork width 24 mm) or a pipe wrench.
• Close the cold water connection and loosen the
connection to the fitting with the Gabess spanner
or the pipe wrench.
• Mount the flexible hoses from the riva hose set to the
riva VARIO filter housing with the connection adapters
(suitable for your system).
• Tighten all connections very tightly with the pipe
wrench or the open-end wrench.

Please note!
• The housing must be connected in such
a way that the (cold) water input into the
filter housing is always in the direction of
the arrow. (arrow on VARIO housing)
• If the assembly is completed and the
housing with the hoses between the
cold water connection and the ar-
mature hose is tightened, the VARIO
housing can be placed freely depending
on the available space. Now the direc-
tion of the arrow no longer plays a role
as it is already connected in the correct
water flow/input direction.
• Finally, run cold water through the kitchen
faucet and check that the tightness of all
connections.

• Now place the riva VARIO filter system with
the flexible hoses between the angle valve/cold
water connection and the fitting connection.

Maintenance
The filter system is basically low-maintenance. However, the
maximum service life of the filter cartridges must be observed.
Clean and lime-free fittings are the prerequisite for hygienically
perfect drinking water. We recommend a cartridge change
after 6 months (DIN 1988) as well as an expert leak test of the
housing after a change has been carried out.
Guarantee
The housing is covered by a 24-month warranty. Wear parts
such as seals and filter cartridges
as well as damage due to improper use are excluded.

Do not forget to change the cartridge - please use the sticker!
Use our removable riva sticker to make the next cartridge change
unforgettable!
Simply turn the month for replacement upwards and apply the sticker
on a smooth surface (inside of the cabinet, shelf, tile).
