The following is a list of suggested tools needed for installation:
Installation Considerations
This section focuses on some considerations for installing your Yamaha
YXZ rear speaker kit. This manual will illustrate the installation process
with a 2017 Yamaha YXZ1000R SS with a RFYXZ-RSW16 wiring kit.
If you feel unsure about installing this system yourself, have it installed by
a qualified technician.
When drilling holes, make sure what is on the
other side. Be sure that any electrical, fuel lines
or any other important components are free
and clear from the area.
Before installation, disconnect the battery
negative (-) terminal to prevent damage to the
unit, fire and/or possible injury.
Before beginning any installation, follow these
simple rules:
• Be sure to carefully read and understand the instructions before
attempting to install this wiring kit.
• Consult your UTV’s service manual for model specific information.
Models may differ from year to year depending on factory options and
aftermarket accessories added.
• This wiring kit is specifically designed to work with Rockford Fosgate’s
PM and RM series of mini wake cans.
• With the addition of an amplifier or source unit, be sure that your
current charging system is in proper working order.

Remove the (2) bolts from the inside of the vehicle on both the passenger
and driver’s side.
Remove the (2) spring nuts from the panels once the bolts are out of the
way using a pick tool or small flat blade screwdriver.
Installation
Applicable Models:
2016 & Up YXZ1000R/YXZ1000R SS
These front speaker enclosures are designed to work with Rockford
Fosgate’s RFYXZ-K8 amplifier kit and RFYXZ-PMXDK dash kit.
NOTE: Some additional interior pieces were removed to make photography
easier for documenting the installation process. The installation process is
the same for both the passenger and driver’s side of the vehicle.
Step 1 - Remove Hood
Using a 4mm allen wrench, loosen the screws holding the hood in place
and remove the hood from the vehicle.
Step 2 - Remove Inner Fender Wells
Remove the inner fender wells using a 10mm socket. There are (7) bolts
on passenger side and (4) on driver’s side securing them to the vehicle.

Installation
Step 3 - Prepare Speaker Enclosures and Mounting Area
Temporarily install the speaker pod into the foot well area to mark the holes
that will need to be drilled
Using the (2) bolts removed from the inside of the vehicle, secure the pod
in place from the wheel well side.
Using a marker, mark the location of the (2) holes on the top of the speaker
pod for drilling.
Remove the pod and drill (2) holes in the firewall using a 5/16” and 1/2”
drill bit.
Next prep the speaker pods by drilling the holes in pods. The pods come
with the mounting hole locations already marked. Use 1/8” bit to clean out
the holes to prevent damaging the screws or enclosures.
Step 4 - Mount Speaker Enclosures
Remount the pod into the foot well location.

Installation
Feed the speaker wire harness through the 1/2” hole.
Apply the supplied foam sealing tape to the inside of the speaker enclosure
to make sure you have a weather tight seal.
NOTE: Be sure leave adequate wire length to attach the speaker.
Attach the speaker wire harness connectors to the speaker terminals.
Install using the supplied bolt through the top of the enclosure. The bolt
will go through the drilled 5/16” hole. Secure with the supplied nut.
Finish securing the speaker pod in place with the (2) bolts used earlier.
Take the speaker wire harness and run from the RFYXZ-K8 or RFYXZ-
PMXDK harness under the hood to the holes drilled in the foot well.

Load the speaker into the enclosure and secure using the hardware
supplied with the speaker.
NOTE: After the speaker is secured repeat the installation process for the
opposite speaker pod on the other side.
Once both speaker pods are installed and the harnesses are ran, locate the
front speaker output connections in the RFYXZ-DK radio harness or the
RFYXZ-K8 harness and remove the watertight plugs.
Connect the speaker harnesses to the output plugs paying attention to the
left and right speaker labels.
Once the connections are made, test the system to verify functionality.
After testing, secure the wire harnesses with plastic wire ties and reassemble
the vehicle.

Any Factory Refurbished Product – 90 Days (receipt required)
What is Covered
This warranty applies only to Rockford Fosgate products sold to consumers by authorized Rockford Fosgate dealers in the United States of America. Prod-
ucts purchased by consumers from an Authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealer in another country are covered only by that country’s Distributor and not by
Rockford Corporation.
Who is Covered
This warranty covers only the original purchaser of Rockford product purchased from an authorized Rockford Fosgate dealer in the United States. In order
to receive service, the purchaser must provide Rockford with a copy of the receipt stating the customer name, dealer name, product purchased and date of
purchase.
Products found to be defective during the warranty period will be repaired or replaced (with a product deemed to be equivalent) at Rockford’s discretion.
What is Not Covered
1. Damage caused by accident, abuse, improper installation, operations, theft, water (on non-Element Ready products).
2. Any cost or expense related to the removal or reinstallation of product.
3. Service performed by anyone other than Rockford or an authorized Rockford Fosgate service center.
4. Any product which has had the serial number defaced, altered, or removed.
5. Subsequent damage to other components.
6. Any product purchased outside the U.S.
7. Any product not purchased from an authorized Rockford Fosgate dealer. Refer to rockfordfosgate.com dealer locator for more detail.
Limit on Implied Warranties
Any implied warranties including warranties of fitness for use and merchantability are limited in duration to the period of the express warranty set forth above.
Some states do not allow limitations on the length of an implied warranty, so this limitation may not apply. No person is authorized to assume for Rockford
Fosgate any other liability in connection with the sale of the product.
How to Obtain Service
Please call 1-800-669-9899 for Rockford Customer Service. You must obtain an RA# (Return Authorization number) to return any product to Rockford
Fosgate. You are responsible for shipment of product to Rockford.
