Step Installation
1. Drill 3/8" diameter holes for the Vintage Ladder Step (1)
in the 3/4" thick ladder rails as specified in the instructions
that came with your Classic/Vintage Rolling Library Ladder
hardware. Use a backer board to avoid tear-out or drill
from the outside face of the ladder rails so any tear-out
will be concealed by the Vintage Ladder Step (1).
2. Place the Vintage Ladder Step (1) against the inside face
of the left ladder rail, aligning the holes. In each hole, insert
a 1/4"-20 Cap Nut (3) through the Vintage Ladder Step (1)
and into the aligned hole in the left ladder rail. Thread a
1/4"-20 x 3/4" Connector Bolt (2) into the Cap Nut (3)
and tighten. Fig. 1.
3. Position the right ladder rail so its inside face is against
the other end of the Vintage Ladder Step (1) and align
the holes. Attach the Vintage Ladder Step (1) to the right
ladder rail using the remaining 1/4"-20 Cap Nuts (3) and
1/4"-20 x 3/4" Connector Bolts (2), installing them the
same way as you did on the left ladder rail. Fig. 1.
