PRODUCT SPECIFIC SAFETY WARNINGS
> Unplug all tools to be connected with the Dust Collection
Grounding Kit before beginning installation.
> If multiple machines are connected to your dust collection
system, it is recommended that you run a wire from each
machine to the ductwork junction and then connect it to
the wire leading to the dust collector.
> Each piece of power equipment, including the dust
collector, must be properly grounded via a three-prong
plug for this system to be effective.
> Each piece of wire ending at a machine must be secured
to bare metal on the frame of the machine. There must be
metal-to-metal contact for the system to function.
> When drilling holes for grounding screws in the metal
frames of machines, carefully position the holes and take
care not to drill into any internal parts of the machines.
Failure to exercise care could result in damage
to the machines.
> Recommended for use only with permanently
installed ductwork.
> If, after reading these instructions, you are unsure that you
can install the grounding system properly, please contact a
licensed electrician.

Assembly
1. Using the included 3/32" Drill Bit (3), drill one hole into the
ductwork near the connection with the power tool and another
hole near the connection with the dust collector. Fig. 1.
2. If you’re connecting more than one power tool to the dust
collector, drill a hole in the ductwork near the connection with
each tool and another just before the connection to the junction
fitting. Fig. 1.
3. Run the Copper Wire (1) inside the ductwork from the power
tool to the dust collector (or from the tool to the junction
fitting). At each hole you drilled, feed the wire out of the
ductwork. You will probably need to disconnect your ductwork
from the tool and the dust collector to do this. You also will
need to cut the Copper Wire into sections if you’re connecting
more than one tool.
4. At the ends of the wire where it will connect to the tool or the
dust collector, insert the end into one of the Ring Terminals (4)
and use pliers to crimp the sleeve for a secure connection.
5. At each machine connected to the dust collection system,
drill and tap a hole into the tool’s metal frame to accept an
M5 x 0.8 Grounding Screw (2). Use an abrasive to remove
paint from the machine frame around the screw hole, and then
attach the Ring Terminal (4) to the frame of the machine with
a Grounding Screw.
6. If you are joining wires from multiple machines at a junction
fitting, feed the Copper Wires from inside the ductwork out
through the holes you drilled earlier near the junction and
twist the wires together with one of the Twist-On Wire
Connectors (5) to form a secure connection.
7. Seal all holes you drilled in the ductwork with silicone sealer.
8. To further combat the buildup of static electricity, it is
recommended that you coil Copper Wire around the outside
of the ductwork between machines, joining the sections with
a Twist-On Wire Connector at any junction, and securing the
ends of the wire to the metal frames of the machines with
Ring Terminals and Grounding Screws.
Each piece of power equipment,
including the dust collector, must be properly grounded
via a three-prong plug for this system to be effective.
Each piece of wire ending at a machine must be secured
to bare metal on the frame of the machine. There must be
metal-to-metal contact for the system to function.
When drilling holes for grounding screws in the metal frames
of machines, carefully position the holes and take care not
to drill into any internal parts of the machines. Failure to
exercise care could result in damage to the machines.
