INTRODUCTION
ThankyouforpurchasingtheAlpha®EcoguardTypeW6DustCollectionCover. The
EcoguardTypeW6mustbeusedwithavacuum,orotherDustCollectionSystem.
To ensure correct use, read this Instruction Manual andthe Instruction Manual for
the power tool and follow the operating instructions. Keep this manual in a place
where operators can access it easily whenever necessary!
ABOUTTHE SYMBOLS
According to the hazard level, all safety notes in this manual are classied into
“DANGER”, “WARNING”, and “CAUTION”.
DANGER! Death or serious personal injury is imminent when handling
this Dust Collection Cover incorrectly.
WARNING! Thereisapossibilityofdeathorseriouspersonalinjurywhen
handling this Dust Collection Cover incorrectly.
CAUTION! There is a possibility of personal injury or property damage
when handling this Dust Collection Cover incorrectly.
Note: In some situations, failing to observe WARNING notes could result in
death or serious personal injury. Be sure to read and observe the safety
notes to ensure safety and correct use of the Dust Collection Cover.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USING THE DUSTCOLLECTION COVER
1. TheDust Collection Cover is for use with a4.5” (115mm), 5” (125mm) and
6” (150mm) high-speed angle grinders.
2. The Dust Collection Cover is designed for cutting concrete, natural stone,
engineered stone, sintered slabs, porcelain paver tiles and other masonry
products. Do not use when cutting metal or other materials.
3. TheDustCollectionCoverissolelydesignedforusewithadiamondcutting
blade. Do not use with any other type of blade such as a conventional
abrasive wheel or carbide tip saw blade.
4. AlwayschecktheDustCollectionCoverfordamage,cracksordeformation
beforestartingwork.DonotusetheDustCollectionCoverifit isdamaged,
cracked or bent as this could cause to injury.
5. Alwaysweareyeprotection.Dustmask,nonskidsafetyshoes,hardhat,or
hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions.
6. Keep the Dust Collection Cover away from gasoline, thinner, petroleum
and parafn.
7. Thesuppliedconnectormaynotconnectsecurelytoeveryhigh-speedangle
grinder. In this case, do not use the Dust Collection Cover.

INSTALLATION OF THE DUST COLLECTION COVER
WARNING!
1. Be sure to turn off the high-speed angle grinder and remove the plug from
the electrical outlet before attaching and installing the Dust Collection Cover.
2. Make sure the Dust Collection Cover is securely attached; otherwise it may
come loose which could cause injury.
3. If you installed the Dust Collection Cover to a high-speed angle grinder but
the connector is loose and can not be securely attached, do not use the Dust
Collection Cover. Using it in this state could cause injury.
INSTALLING TO MAKITA®, MILWAUKEE® OR BOSCH®HIGH-SPEED
ANGLE GRINDERS
1. Dismantle the original safety guard and diamond cutting blade from the
high-speed angle grinder.
2. Loosen the connector setting screws in the Dust Collection Cover and leave
loose.
3. Attach the connector to the blade guard mount of the high-speed angle
grinder. Adjust the angle of the Dust Collection Cover when attaching.
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, tighten the two
setting screws securely.
CAUTION!
ThisDustCollectionCoverissolelydesignedforapplicationswithdiamondblades.
Do not use with any other type of blade such as a conventional abrasive cut-off
blade or carbide tip saw blade.

If you install the Dust Collection Cover to a high-speed angle grinder
but the connector is loose and cannot be securely attached, it may
be necessary to change the connector designed for other makes.
1. Remove the three phillips screws in the connector attached to
the Dust Collection Cover. (Fig. 3)
2. Attach the supplied connector by following the instruction in (1)
above in reverse. (For Hitachi® & Fein® Grinders use Part No.
500070 / for Metabo®, Bosch® & Fein® use Part No. 500027 / for
Flex® use Part No. 500071 / for Dewalt® use Part No. 500072)
3. Subsequent procedures are the same as for attaching the adapter
to a high-speed angle grinder in case changing the connector
is not needed.

MOUNTING THE DIAMOND BLADE
►Method 1
1. Insert the inner ange to the spindle with the spacer as needed.
(Fig. 4)
2. Insert the diamond blade into the slot and place on the inner
ange, then tighten the locknut using the supplied pin wrench
(Fig. 5)

►Method 2
If the diamond blade cannot insert from the blade slot.
1. Remove the Height Adjustment Knob (Fig. 6) and loosen the
Knob Bolt (Fig. 7)
2. Open the Dust Collection Cover and the setting plate. (Fig. 8)
3. Insert the inner ange with the spacer as needed and place the
diamond blade on the inner ange, then tighten the locknut using
the supplied pin wrench. (Fig. 9)
4. Slide the Dust Collection Cover to the closed position and re-
attach the Height Adjustment Knob.

ADJUSTING THE CUTTING GUIDE
1. The Cutting Guide on the Dust Collection Cover can be
manually adjusted after the diamond blade has been attached
onto the grinder for alignment of the blade and cut line.
2. Place the Dust Collection Cover on the table and touch the
diamond blade to the edge of the table (Fig. 10).
3. Loosen the screw and adjust the Cutting Guide by either
sliding left or right so it aligns to the edge of the table together
with the edge of the diamond blade and tighten the screw
(Fig.11).

ADJUSTING THE CUTTING DEPTH
1. Loosen the Height Adjustment Knob on the Dust Collection
Cover. (Fig. 12)
2. Slide the Dust Collection Cover to adjust the cutting depth.
(Fig. 13)
3. Match the edge indicated by
arrow of the guide base to
the scale to determine the
approximate cutting depth and
tighten the height adjustment
knob. (Fig. 14)
Note: Scale depth is indicated
by millimeter.

ATTACHING TO THE DUST COLLECTOR HOSE
Attach the Dust Collection Cover to the hose (Fig. 15)
*The hose opening of the Dust Collection Cover has an outside
diameter of 33mm.
If necessary, use the Rubber Hose Adapter and Stainless Hose
Band supplied with the Dust Collection Cover.
