HARPSICHORD OPERATION
VARIABLE CONTROLS

Changes the over-all volume
of the instrument.
Changes the over-all brightness
of the instrument.
Changes the level
of only the ensemble voices.
The reverb knob changes the amount
of
reverberation and the buttons change the size of the
simulated room.
SELECTING SOUNDS
1. To select avoice for the UPPER MANUAL, press the desired
button in the harpsichord section and/or the ensemble section. One
from each can be selected.
24 To select avoice for the LOWER MANUAL, press the desired
button in the hail)sichord section. The ENSEMBLE voices can
be
added by the use of the ensemble coupler.-
COUPLING ENSEMBLE VOICES TO THE LOWER MANUAL
1. Hold the coupler button and the ensemble, lights will flash, then
press the desired button.
2. The coupler button is then avoice button and can
be toggled on and
off as any other voice.

ENSEMBLE OCTAVE SHIFT
The ensemble voices can be sllifted up an octave. This will change the 8'
voices to 4' voices.
THE
UPPER MANUAL:
1. Hold the TRANSPOSER button and press the OBOE button.
2. To reverse this action, Hold the TRANSPOSER button and again
press the
OBOE button.
THE LOWER MANUAL:
1. Hold the TRANSPOSER button and press the COUPLER button.
2. To reverse this action, Hold the TRANSPOSER button and again
press the COUPLER button.

REPLACING CELESTA, STRING, AND PIANO VOICE WIT"H
ONE OF THE SIXTY ONE RESIDENT VOICES:
There are sixty-one selected voices that can be accessed
from the keyboards. (see voice chart.)
FOR THE UPPER MANUAL:
1. Hold the MIDI button and press one of the three voice buttons that
is to
be replaced, (Celesta, String, or Piano), then any key on the
keyboard that represents the desired voice from the resident voices.
FI of the upper keyboard or the lower keyboard is program #1 of
the voice list and F61 is the last voice on the list.
2.
To return to the voice represented by the button, Hold the MIDI
button and press the changed button. When holding down the MIDI
button, the changed button's light will flash to indicate that abutton
has
been changed.
FOR THE LOWER MANUAL:
Hold the MIDI button and press the
COUPLER (the light will
flash), then press the desired voice from the voices.
FI of the upper
or lower keyboards is program #1 of the voice list and F61 is the
last voice

TRANSPOSITION:
1. Press and hold the transposer button (tile lights of tIle marked stops
will flash). Then select the desired step, eitller flat or sharp by tIle
buttons in the marked area.
2. Also, transposition can be accomplislled by selecting the desired
key on either keyboard. Press and hold the transposer button and
then select the desired key on either manual.
3. When the transposer button is pressed and lleld the light will flash
showing the selection.
4. To return to the key
of C, press the transposer button. It will act as
areversible button toggling between tIle transposed key and the
keyofC.
5. Return to the key of Cwhen selecting the transposition by using
the keyboards. This is accomplished by holding the transposer
button and pressing the Ckey on the keyboard. All the lights will
flash in the transposer section indicating that the key
of Cis
selected for both states
of the transposer button.
TEMPERAMENTS:
There are five temperaments: Vallotti, Just, Mean, Werckmeister, and
Kirnberger.
1. To set the temperament, press the temperament button and hold.
The lights will flash in the temperament section. Select the desired
temperament and press the button.
2. Holding the temperament button and pressing the desired key you
wish to play on the keyboard will normalize that temperament t6
that key. This means the harpsichord will correct the tuning
of the
temperament so the tuning is correct for the key for which the music
is written.
