In addition to operating the digital box, the Rogers remote
is capable of controlling basic commands on your TV, VCR
and other components. To enable these features, the Rogers
remote must be programmed for your particular home
entertainment components.
There are two ways to program the Rogers remote to
control your equipment; searching for the correct code or
entering the code directly. If you have Internet access, your
component codes are available online. Follow the
instructions on the next page of this guide once you have
the codes.
The alternative is to search for the codes using the steps
below.
SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
To search for a code for your TV:
1. Turn on your TV.
2. On the remote control, press TV once; it will
blink once. Press and hold SETUP until the TV
button blinks twice, then release SETUP.
3. Enter 9- 9- 1. The TV button will blink twice.
4. Aim the remote control toward the TV and
press PWR once.
5. Press CH+ repeatedly until the TV turns off.
NOTE: In search mode, the remote control will
send device codes from its library to the
selected device, starting with the most
popular code first.
You may have to press CH+ dozens of
times until the correct code is found.
6. After your TV has turned off, press SETUP
once to lock in the code. The TV button will
blink twice.
Searching codes for other devices
Since the Rogers remote control is a universal remote, you
can program it for other components by repeating the steps
above and substituting the TV button with the respective
device button (DVD, AUD, etc.).

Solution: Replace the batteries with two (2) new AA
alkaline batteries.
Problem: Device button blinks when you press a
button, but home entertainment

Solution: Make sure you are aiming the remote at
your home entertainment component and
that you are within 5m (15’) of the

commands are not performing properly.
Solution: Try all listed codes for your brand of
component. Make sure all devices can be
operated with an infrared remote control.
Problem: My TV/VCR Combo unit does not respond
properly to remote commands.
Solution: Use the VCR device codes for your brand
of combo unit. Some combo units may
require both a TV code and a VCR code for
full operation.
Problem: CH+, CH- and LAST do not work for your
TV made by RCA.
Solution: Due to the design of older RCA TVs (1983-
1987), only the original remote control will
work.

not find a working code for my TV.
Solution: Try the “Search Method” again after
clearing the device button as follows: Press
and hold SETUP until the TV button blinks
twice. Next, enter 9- 9- 2. Then press and
release the TV button twice.
Problem: Remote control does not turn on Sony or
