The air is drawn into the unit through the inlets on either side of the machine. The
contaminated air passes through the cartridge lter. Larger particles are deected down
towards the collecting pan located below the lter. The clean air is then released
through the discharge grill.
*Note: It is critical that the discharge grill located on the switch side of the machine not
be blocked in any way. The unit's exhaust must have a minimum clearance of 4 inches
to insure maximum suction eciency. Never place exhaust side of machine up against a
wall or object.
OPERATION PRINCIPLE

The unit is equipped with a double-shielded permanently lubricated ball bearing motor,
assuring long life and quiet operation. No additional motor maintenance is required.
Proper maintenance is critical to extend the life and eciency of the ltration system.
The information presented below outlines basic maintenance procedures to ensure your
unit will provide a trouble free and clean work environment for years to come.
Polishing dust is accumulated onto the outside surface of the pre-lter located in the
lter compartment of the dust collector. Romano recommends changing the lter once
a year. The lter can be easily changed by following these simple steps:
1. Power unit o
2. Unplug unit from power supply
3. Open side access door by loosening the thumb-screw in a counter-clockwise
direction.
4. Remove lter from the unit and place new lter on the cartridge lter.
5. Follow procedure backwards to install lter, verifying that the lter gasket located on
the open end of the lter is inserted properly (insert gasket side rst).
The dust in the collecting pan should be removed and stored once a week. It is very
dicult to pre-determine a specic maintenance schedule, as the rate of dust loading
will vary for each person. To ensure maximum suction throughout life of unit, Romano
recommends the cartridge lter be changed once every twelve months.
*NOTE: When opening side access door to remove collecting pan or change pre-lter or
lter, unit must be powered o.
