ROOF RO200 CARBON HELMET PROPERLY

La course, un monde où règnent la performance et la protection, constituants
fondamentaux de l’ADN de la société ROOF depuis sa création en 1993.
Performance et protection, deux piliers d’une ligne directrice ayant guidé le
développement de ce projet dans notre bureau d’études du sud de la France.
Un développement de plusieurs années permettant aujourd’hui de vous équiper,
vous, heureux propriétaire, d’un casque aux caractéristiques techniques
exceptionnelles.

The race, a world where performance and protection are the main words,
fundamental constituents of the brand’s DNA since its creation in 1993.
Performance and protection, two guidelines that guided the developement
of this project in our R&D department of the south of France. This several years
development allows you to be, now, the proud owner of an high range helmet
with exceptionnal caracteristics.

RO200 CARBON et son écran sont conformes au règlement E22 en vigueur lors de
leur fabrication. La marque E22, le numéro d’homologation et le numéro de série
gurent sur l’étiquette blanche cousue sur la jugulaire. Pour garantir une protection
optimale, le casque doit être parfaitement adapté à la tête et fermement attaché
sous le menton, an de minimiser le risque de blessures graves.
Votre casque est conçu de manière à absorber un choc unique : la coque extérieure
répartit la force de l’impact sur toute la surface du casque (voir A). Le rembourrage
amortissant du ROOF RO200 CARBON à l’intérieur de la coque est composé de
plusieurs amortisseurs de densités multiples. Cette couche de rembourrage s’altère
énormément pendant et après un choc, mais les dégâts qu’elle subit sont peu
visibles car elle est prise en sandwich entre la coque et le rembourrage de confort
(voir B). Pour ces raisons, tout casque ayant subi un impact, même invisible à l’œil
nu, doit être remplacé.

RO200 CARBON and its visor are in line with the European standard in force at the
time of their manufacture. The European mark, the registration number and the
serial number are on the white label which is sewn on the chinstrap. For maximum
protection, the helmet must be perfectly adapted to the head and tied under the
chin rmly, to minimise the risk of serious injury.
Your helmet is designed to absorb a single shock: the outer shell distributes the
force of the impact across the full surface of the helmet (see A). The padding of the
ROOF RO200 CARBON helmet inside of the shell is composed of damping materials
of progressive density. This padding layer alters dramatically during and after
the shock (see B), but the damage that it suffers is few visible as it is sandwiched
between the shell and the comfort padding. For these reasons, all helmets that
have known any major impact (even if the effects are invisible to the naked eye)
must be replaced.

Avant de prendre la route, vériez toujours que votre casque est bien adapté et
en parfait état de marche. Prenez des leçons de conduite et évitez de prendre
la route si vous êtes fatigué ou sous l’inuence de l’alcool ou de stupéants.
Ne modiez pas votre casque et n’attachez rien dessus. Ne peignez pas votre
casque car cela risque de l’endommager. Vériez que votre écran est propre
et exempt de rayures. Ne prenez jamais la route avec un casque suspendu au
crochet. N’exposez pas votre casque à des températures extrêmes. N’achetez
jamais de casque d’occasion car vous ne saurez pas s’il a déjà absorbé un
choc. Ne laissez personne d’autre utiliser votre casque, car il risquerait ensuite
de ne plus être adapté à votre tête.
Before taking the road, always ensure that your helmet ts properly and that
it works perfectly. Take driving lessons and avoid to take the road if you are
tired or under inuence of alcohol or drugs. Do not make modications on your
helmet or attach anything on it. Do not paint your helmet because it could
be damaged. Check that your visor is clean and free of scratches. Never
take the road with helmet hanging on a hook. Do not expose your helmet to
high temperatures. Never buy a used helmet because you don’t know if it has
already absorbed a shock or not. Never let another person use your helmet
because it’s t to your morphology.
Nettoyez uniquement votre casque à l’eau tiède et au savon doux. N’utilisez
jamais d’essence, diluant, benzine ou tout autre solvant, car ces produits
risqueraient d’endommager les pièces du casque et d’annuler ses propriétés
de protection contre les chocs. Lorsque votre casque est démonté, vous ne devez
effectuer aucune opération sur le calotin amortisseur, ni lavage, ni solvant.
RO200 CARBON bénécie d’un habillage de confort intérieur entièrement
démontable. Les parties constituées de tissus et mousse peuvent être lavées.
Utiliser un savon doux, rincer abondamment, ne pas laisser sécher près d’une
source de chaleur (radiateur par exemple).
Only clean your helmet using warm water and mild soap. Never use petrol, thin-
ner, benzine or other solvents, as these products risk damaging the parts of the
helmet and abolishing its impact protection properties. When your skullcap
is removed, do not do anything with the EPS liner; do not wash it or apply
any solvents. RO200 CARBON helmet has an inner lining which can be fully
removed. The elements composed of fabric and foam can be washed. Use
a mild soap, rinse it abundantly, and do not let it dry near a heat source (e.g.
a radiator).

JUGULAIRE / CHINSTRAP
RO200 CARBON est équipé du système de fermeture de la jugulaire le
plus sûr : le système 2D. Pour votre sécurité, une tension correcte de la jugulaire
est indispensable et évitera les risques de déchaussement du casque lors d’un
accident. Un réglage incorrect ou une mauvaise utilisation de la boucle 2D
pourrait entraîner la perte du casque avec des conséquences graves pour
votre santé. La jugulaire doit être bien serrée tout en restant confortable.

THE CHINSTRAP MUST BE CLOSED WHEN YOU ARE ON THE ROAD!
RO200 CARBON is equipped of the most reliable closing device
of the chinstrap : the 2D system. Correct tension of the chinstrap is essential
for your security: it will prevent loosening risks in case of accident. Incorrect
adjustment or wrong use of the 2D buckle can result in loss of the helmet,
with major consequences to your health. The chinstrap should be tense yet
comfortable.

Mise en place et réglage de la tension (voir A) :
Répéter l’opération plusieurs fois le casque étant posé an de vous familiariser
avec les gestes. Une fois le casque sur la tête, passer la sangle au travers des
deux anneaux de l’intérieur vers l’extérieur (1). Ensuite, glisser la sangle en
dehors de l’anneau extérieur et au travers de l’anneau intérieur (2). Tirer alors
la sangle à l’horizontal vers la droite jusqu’à ce que la tension soit correcte et
sufsante au maintien parfait du casque sur la tête. Fixer alors la sangle libre sur
l’auto-agrippant cousu sur le brin tendu (3).

Attaching 2D & adjusting the chinstrap tension (see A page 6) :
Repeat the operation several times in order to familiarize yourself with the
attaching actions. Once the helmet is on your head, pass the strap trought the
two rings from the inside to the outside (1). Then, slide back the strap outside
the external ring and inside the internal ring (2). Then, pull the strap horizontally
to the right until it’s tight enough to hold the helmet securely on your head.
Then, attach the free strap end to the Velcro tape sewed on the stretched
strap(3).
Libérer la jugulaire (voir B) :
Pour détendre et détacher la jugulaire : décrocher la sangle de l’auto
agrippant puis saisir fermement la languette rouge et basculer les anneaux
à l’horizontale vers la gauche, tirer alors sur le brin tendu à droite pour faire
coulisser la sangle dans les anneaux.

Removing the chinstrap (see B) :
To release and remove the chinstrap : unhook the strap from the Velcro tape,
grasp the red tab and swing the rings horizontally to the left side. Then, pull on
the stretched end to the right to slide the strap trought the rings.
Ce système ne requiert aucun entretien.
This system does not require any maintenance.

RO200 CARBON possède un système de ventilation de la tête à effet Venturi.
Le ux d’air frais entre par les prises d’air frontale et supérieures et l’air humide
et chaud s’échappe par dépression à travers l’extracteur arrière.
RO200 CARBON is equipped with a Venturi effect system for the ventilation of
the head. The fresh airow enters trought the front and top air-vents, then the
hot humid air ow will be released trought the rear extractor by vacuum effect.
ASTUCE : Pour toutes ces prises d’air, l’ouverture s’effectue par un
mouvement d’avant vers l’arrière, et inversement pour la fermeture.
TRICK : For all these air-vents, the opening is made by a movement
from front to back, and vice versa for the closing.

RO200 CARBON possède un dispositif breveté permettant d’orienter
le ux d’air vers l’écran ou vers le visage en fonction des besoins et des
conditions extérieures. Lorsque le bouton (4) est actionné vers la gauche,
le ux d’air capté par la prise d’air (5) sera directement orienté pour une
ventilation du visage. Lorsque le bouton (4) est actionné vers la droite, le
ux d’air capté par la prise d’air (5) sera orienté uniquement vers la surface
interne de l’écran pour assurer le désembuage actif.
RO200 CARBON has equipped of patented device allowing to direct the
airow to the visor or to the face according to the needs and the climate.
When the button (4) is pushed to the left, the airow coming from the air-vent
(5) will be direclty oriented for the ventilation of the face. When the button (4)
is pushed to the right, the airow coming from the air-vent (5) will be oriented
only on the inner surface of the visor for its demisting.

DÉMONTAGE ECRAN / VISOR REMOVING
Ouvrir légèrement l’écran an de pouvoir glisser ses doigts entre le bas de l’écran et
le dessus de la mentonnière (1). A l’aide du porte clé ROOF fourni avec le casque,
appuyer sur l’axe de rotation de l’écran situé au centre du moyeu aluminium. Tout
en préservant la pression sur l’axe de rotation (2a), appliquer une traction de l’écran
vers l’avant du casque (2b). Tout en continuant de tirer l’écran vers l’avant, relacher
la pression sur l’axe de rotation de l’écran. L’écran est alors démonté d’un côté,
effectuer la même opération de l’autre côté an de l’extraire complètement.
Open the visor slightly in order to
let the space for the ngers (1).
Using the ROOF keychain which
comes standard with the helmet,
press the rotation axis of the visor
located at the center of the
aluminium hub. While preserving
the pressure on the axis (2a), pull
the visor to the front of the helmet
(2b). While continuing to pull
the visor to the front, release the
pressure on the rotation axis. The
visor is then removed on one side,
proceed in the same way on the
other side to remove it completely.
Pour remonter l’écran, le glisser
d’un côté entre la coque et la
plaque latérale. Puis, pousser
l’écran en direction de l’axe de
rotation jusqu’à déclenchement
d’un son perceptible et signicatif
de la xation de l’écran sur l’axe.
Effectuer la même opération de
l’autre côté puis ouvrir et fermer
l’écran à plusieurs reprises an de
vérier le bon fonctionnement.
To x the visor on the helmet, slide it between
shell and carbon plate at one side. Then, push
the visor towards the rotation axis until to hear a
signicant sound of the xing of the visor on the
axis. Proceed on the same way at the other side
and then open and close the visor several times
to check the correct functioning.

Différentes épaisseurs de joues de confort sont disponibles chez votre
revendeur an d’adapter le casque à votre morphologie.
Adapt the helmet to your morphology by changing the cheekpads’ thickness.
See your reseller to nd different thicknesses of comfort cheekpads.
Démontage des joues : Glisser un
doigt sous la sangle rouge située sur le
dessous de la joue et tirer la joue vers
le bas (voir A). Les 2 pressions vont se
déclipser automatiquement.
Removal of the cheekpads: Slide a
nger under the red strap located on
the underside of the cheekpad and
pull it down (see A). The 2 snaps will be
automatically unclipped.

Remontage des joues : Glisser la plaque support plastique de la joue entre
coque et calotin. Appliquer une pression sur toute la joue pour l’insérer
complètement entre le calotin et la coque (voir B). Ensuite, clipser les 2
pressions pour maintenir la joue en position (voir C).
Assembly of the cheekpads: Slide the plastic part between the shell and the
EPS calotin. Press the entire cheek to insert it completely (see B). Finally, clip
the 2 plastic snaps to x the cheekpad (see C)

La position fermée de l’écran
est assurée par un dispositif de
verrouillage simple et rapide. Pour
fermer l’écran, appliquer une
pression sur le haut de celui-ci an
de le rabattre sur la mentonnière.
L’accroche de l’écran située
sur la gauche va alors s’écarter
automatiquement pour venir se
positionner dans le dispositif de
verrouillage xé sur la mentonnière.
Pour ouvrir l’écran, positionner le
pouce de la main gauche sous
l’accroche de l’écran puis écarter
celui-ci de la mentonnière tout en
effectuant un mouvement de bas
vers le haut.

The closing of the visor is ensured by a simple and fast locking system. To close and
lock the visor, apply a pressure on the top to fold it onto the chinbar. The visor’s
hook located on the left side will then automatically moved forward to come in its
locking position inside the locking system. To open the visor, place the tumb of the
left hand under the visor’s hook and move it away from the chinbar while moving
from down to up.
Selon la version de votre casque, celui-ci peut être livré de série avec une lentille
antibuée PINLOCK. Veuillez vous référer à la notice livrée avec la lentille.
Depending on the version of your helmet, it can be delivered as standard with
an anti fog PINLOCK lens. Please refer to the instructions delivered with the lens.

Démontage de la coiffe : Saisir l’arrière de la coiffe entre le pouce et l’index
puis tirer an de retirer la partie plastique glissée entre coque et calotin (voir
A). Ensuite, soulever légèrement l’avant de la coiffe puis tirer sur celle-ci au
niveau de l’implantation de chaque clip an de retirer aisément les 6 clips de
la xation frontale (voir B).
Removal of the skullcap: Grab rear of the skullcap between thumb and
forenger to remove by pulling the plastic part slided between EPS and shell
(see A). Then, lift the front of the skullcap carefully and pull on it at the area of
the clips. Six clips has to be removed from the front xation (see B).

Remontage de la coiffe : Clipser l’avant de la coiffe sur la xation frontale (
voir C) puis glisser la partie plastique arrière entre coque et calotin (voir D).
Assurez-vous que la coiffe est bien plaquée au fond du calotin, sans pli.
Assembly of the skullcap: Clip the front of the skullcap on the front clip (see C)
and then slide the plastic part between EPS and shell (see D). Make sure that
the skullcap is well placed at the bottom of the EPS, without fold.
Montage de la bavette coupe-vent : An de limiter les remontées d’air,
une bavette coupe-vent est livrée de série avec le casque. Glisser la partie
plastique de la bavette entre la coque et l’amortisseur de mentonnière sur
l’avant du casque (voir F). Pour le démontage, tirer sur la bavette an de
l’extraire.
Assembly of windguard: In order to avoid any turbulence, a windguard
comes standard with the helmet. Slide the plastic part of the windguard
between the shell and the EPS chinguard at the front of the helmet (see F).
For the removing, pull on the windguard to remove it.

Lorsque l’habillage de confort est démonté, aucune opération ne doit
être effectuée sur le calotin amortisseur, ni lavage, ni solvant, au risque de
remettre en cause ses qualités amortissantes.
When the inner lining is removed, no operation has to be performed on the
EPS (absorbing part), nor washing, nor applying solvent. The EPS could be
damaged.

Montage du cache-nez : An de limiter
la création de buée due à l’air expiré,
un cache-nez est livré de série avec le
casque. Ouvrir l’écran an d’accéder au
-dessus de l’amortisseur de mentonnière.
Ensuite, glisser le cache-nez entre
l’amortisseur de mentonnière et le
dispositif de boite à air en appliquant
une pression sur toute la largeur de la
pièce (voir A). Pour le démontage, tirer
sur le cache-nez an de l’extraire.
Assembly of noseguard: In order to
avoid the fog due to the breathing,
a noseguard comes standard with
the helmet. Open the visor and then
slide the noseguard between the EPS
chinguard and the airbox device at
the front of the helmet (see A). For the
removing, pull on the noseguard to
remove it.

légale pour défauts et vices cachés
dans les conditions prévues par la loi.
- Garantie contractuelle :
La société ROOF garantit le produit trois
ans à compter de sa date de vente
au client nal. Une copie de la facture
d’achat, tamponnée par le revendeur,
devra être jointe au casque en cas de
retour. Le produit vendu au client nal
est considéré comme étant de qualité
marchande, libre de tout vice de
fabrication ou de tout défaut.
Toutefois, il est entendu que le produit
devra faire l’objet d’un usage normal
et conforme à la présente notice
d’utilisation.
Le client nal doit notier par écrit à la
société ROOF tout défaut du produit
dans les cinq jours ouvrés suivant sa
survenance.
La garantie du produit est limitée au
remplacement gratuit ou à la fourniture
de la pièce ou des pièces reconnues
défectueuses.
La société ROOF attire l’attention du
distributeur et du client nal sur le fait
qu’elle décline toute responsabilité
dans les cas suivants :
- usure normale, impact, mauvaise
utilisation, détérioration ou accidents
provenant de négligences (défaut de
surveillance, d’entretien ou d’utilisation)
ou encore une transformation
quelconque du produit.
- réparation, altération ou utilisation qui
est hors des spécications posées par la
société ROOF.
- dommages causés à des personnes
ou à des biens du fait de l’emploi du
produit.
- utilisation du casque sur un territoire
non soumis à la norme européenne en
vigueur.
En tout état de cause, la responsabilité
de la société ROOF est exclue pour tous
dommages indirects et / ou immatériels,
tous frais, pertes, coûts (même si la
société ROOF a connaissance de leur
existence) causés par le produit. Nous
vous conseillons de conserver ce livret
avec votre facture d’achat qui vous
sera réclamée pour tout retour.
The end client benets from the legal
guarantee for hidden defects and faults
under the conditions that are prescribed
by the law.
- Contractual guarantee:
The ROOF company acknowledges a
three-year warranty with the product,
starting on the date when it is sold to the
end client. If the helmet is returned there
must be attached a copy of the invoice,
which must be stamped by the dealer.
The product sold to the end customer
is acknowledged as of merchantable
quality and free from manufacturing
and other defects.
However, it is acknowledged that
the product must be used normally,
in compliance with the terms and
conditions of this instruction manual.
The end client must notify the ROOF
company of any fault with the product
within ve working days after it has been
delivered.
The product warranty shall be limited to
replacement of it for free or the supply
of parts found to be defective.
The ROOF company draws the attention
of the distributor and the end client to
the fact that it accepts no responsibility
in the following cases:
- Normal wear and tear, impact, misuse,
deterioration or accidents caused
by negligence (lack of supervision,
maintenance or use) or any kind
of modication performed with the
product.
- Repairs, changes or use that are outside
the boundaries of the specications of
