This manual is for informative purposes.
The purpose of this manual is to provide information about
the characteristics of the products sold by ROTECNA, and to
facilitate their installation. Under no circumstances may this
information override the applicable regulations on installa-
tions in any country; therefore the installer responsible for
the assembly of ROTECNA products must do so in accor-
dance with the corresponding regulations.

1. The Feeding Ball mechanism can be fully dismantled for cleaning.
2. Do not clean the system with corrosive products.
3. Avoid the use of water when there is feed inside.
4. After cleaning the mechanism it must completely dried before being filled.
5. Once a year, check the condition of the points susceptible to possible wear.

The Feeding Ball is a slow flow feeder, especially designed for fe-
eding nursing sows, although it can also be used in the weaning-
breeding period. It allows the animal to be fed in a restricted man-
ner or at will.
The pig farmer decides what amount of feed will fall each time the
sow activates the mechanism’s ball, controlling the amount falling
using an adjustment system.
Sows adapt very easily to the mechanism, given that the move-
ment that they need to make to activate it is similar to the move-
ment they make when rooting. Another important characteristic
of the system is that the animal has fresh feed 24 hours a day and
can eat small portions of feed whenever it likes, which prevents
feed being wasted and increases the consumption of sows at night
during warm periods.
With the correct use of the Feeding Ball, we can obtain the fo-
llowing advantages: maximising the consumption of sows during
lactation, less loss of weight and physical form of the sow, greater
weight of the piglets at weaning, less feed waste and less depen-
dency on labour and working hours. Its use in the weaning-bree-
ding period results in good follicular development, which will result
in more and better oocytes, therefore obtaining larger and more
homogeneous litters.
