Power Cord for the United Kingdom
When using the instrument in the United Kingdom, make sure the power
cord meets the following safety instructions.
NOTE: This lead/appliance must only be wired by competent persons.
WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED IMPORTANT:
The wires in this lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Green/ Yellow:
Earth
Blue:
Neutral
Brown:
Live (Phase)
As the colours of the wires in main leads may not correspond with the coloured marking
identified in your plug/appliance, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured Green & Yellow must be connected to the Earth terminal
marked with either the letter E, the earth symbol or coloured Green/Green &
Yellow.
The wire which is coloured Blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter N or coloured Blue or Black.
The wire which is coloured Brown must be connected to the terminal marked with the
letter L or P or coloured Brown or Red.
If in doubt, consult the instructions provided with the equipment or contact the supplier.
This cable/appliance should be protected by a suitably rated and approved HBC mains
fuse: refer to the rating information on the equipment and/or user instructions for details.
As a guide, a cable of 0.75mm2should be protected by a 3A or 5A fuse. Larger
conductors would normally require 13A types, depending on the connection method
used.
Any exposed wiring from a cable, plug or connection that is engaged in a live socket is
extremely hazardous. If a cable or plug is deemed hazardous, turn off the mains power
and remove the cable, any fuses and fuse assemblies. All hazardous wiring must be
immediately destroyed and replaced in accordance to the above standard.

START UP
Connect the AC power cord
Checking the
AC Voltage
Before the power is turned on, confirm that the input power
supply meets the following conditions:
100-240VAC ±10%, 50Hz/60Hz .Check to be sure the
operating voltage in your area is compatible. RSSM-20H10
can automatically detect and display the power line
frequency (if the wrong power line frequency is displayed,
you can set it manually)
Connecting
the AC power
cord
The fuse is a 2.0A slow-blow fuse. Confirm that
the fuse is of the correct type and rating before
connecting the power cord.
1. Before plugging in the power cord, make
sure the main power switch on the rear
panel is on its off (O) position.
2. Connect the female end of the supplied
power cord to the AC receptacle on the rear
panel.
Caution The power cord supplied with RSSM-20H10 contains a
separate ground for use with grounded outlets. When proper
connections are made, instrument chassis is connected to
power line ground through the ground wire in the power cord.
Failure to use grounding may cause personal injury or death
due to electric shock.

Turning the Power on
Turn on the
main power
switch
Turn on the main power switch on rear panel. The
RSSM-20H10 is in standby mode after the main
power switch is turned on, and the standby power
switch on the front panel is lit in red
Turn on the
standby
power switch
Long press the standby power switch for at least 2 seconds,
and the standby power switch turns yellow .
Power-up
sequence On power-up, the RSSM-20H10 performs self-tests on its
EPROM and RAM. If a failure is detected, the instrument
momentarily displays an error message, and the ERR
annunciator turns on
If the instrument passes self-tests, the line frequency will be
displayed (If the wrong frequency is displayed, it can be set
manually as covered below). After the power-up sequence,
the instrument goes to its normal display state with the Output
off (Output indicator light off). With the output off, the OFF
message is displayed, and dashes replace the reading.
Turning the Power off
Turn off the
standby
power switch
Long press the standby power switch for at least 2 seconds,
and the standby power switch turns red .
Turn off the
main power
switch
Turn off the main power switch on the rear panel.
