U3 Weather Resistant Remote Control
Cleaning
Occasional cleaning may be required, depending on use. To clean your U3, lightly
dampen a lint-free cloth with plain water or a mild detergent and wipe the display,
keypad and outer surfaces. Do not use harsh chemicals as damage to the unit
may occur.
NOTE: The rubber cover on the backside of the U3 may be removed for cleaning.
The U3 is designed to withstand temporary exposure to water only. Prolonged
exposure may result in the U3 remote malfunctioning. DO NOT ALLOW THE U3
TO REMAIN FLOATING IN WATER.
Weather Resistant Note
It’s Under Control®
The U3 comes with two docking stations, one for charging the battery and one
for a convenient place to store the remote.
CHARGING DOCK
The charging dock is not weather resistant and is for indoor use only. The
charging dock has a micro USB port for connection to the AC power supply cable
and has four channel options for convenient cord routing.
NOTE: The U3 comes with a white power supply and micro USB cable. The
cable is detachable from the power supply in case a longer or different cable is
preferred.
CRADLE
The weather resistant cradle can be used for a convenient place to store the U3
in the area where the remote is being used.
NOTE: The cradle does not recharge the battery.
U3 Weather Resistant Remote Control
The rubber cover over the back of the U3 is made with an anti-microbacterial
additive to prevent mold and is removable for cleaning. Carefully remove it by
gently pulling from the edge of the rubber. To reattach, t the rubber on the
back of the remote and press the ridge around the edge of the rubber into the
groove around the outside of the unit.
The back of the U3 has a waterproof pressure vent near the top. Keep this vent
clear and do not poke anything into the vent or damage may occur, voiding the
warranty.
NOTE: The serial number for the unit is found on the back beneath the cover.
The mounting holster attaches to the bottom of the charging dock or cradle to
hold the U3 secure for when it is afxed to a wall. There are three (3) tabs on
the mounting holster. To attach, carefully slide each docking tab of the holster
into the coordinating slot on the back of the docking station, starting on one
side, then the middle tab, and then the other side.
Programming the U3
The U3 requires a ZB-Pro Programming Tool (sold separately - item 10-210216-
13) to program or update the rmware.
The U3 display and buttons are programmed using the RTI Integration Designer®
programming software. (Integration Designer software available to authorized
RTI dealers only).

for this and all RTI products. Authorized RTI dealers can download the latest
rmware and Integration Designer from the dealer section of www.rticorp.com.
UPDATING INTEGRATION DESIGNER PROGRAMMING
When downloading the program le, Integration Designer will check if there is a

will show a message that it is upgrading the rmware on the ZB-Pro before
proceeding to download the program le.
