2. General Description
Intended Use
The RxAir 4500 is designed to circulate room air through the patent pending multistage HEPA
filter to remove microbial airborne particulates. Contaminated air is therefore continuously
purified by passing through the RxAir filter. 5 air changes per hour are easily achieved in a 35
ft x 100 ft x 16 ft (16ft ceiling height) room resulting in a continuous cleansing or “washing” of
the room air. This is analogous to hand washing's effect on skin contamination and helps to
control airborne particulates.
The effectiveness of the device is dependent upon room parameters such as room size,
central heat and air, doors, windows, etc. RxAir consultants are available for detailed analysis
of room parameters. As a general rule it is necessary to keep windows and doors closed for
maximum effectiveness of the RxAir unit.
The RxAir is easily utilized in any room where air cleansing is desired, such as offices,
classrooms, health care rooms, waiting rooms, and day care facilities. The technical support
staff at RxAir is available for consultation and support.

Do Not place the unit:
Next to a source of flame;
In an area where oil is likely to splash;
In an area that is exposed to direct sunlight;
In an area where water is likely to splash;
Near loose materials such as fabrics;
Outdoors;
Always place the unit in upright position.
CAUTION:
All duct-mounted installations must be filled wired in accordance with local
and national electrical codes.
Qualified engineering professionals must carry out ducting design and
installation.
The power source must be 208 or 230 VAC (see instructions on page 4)
Take special care to keep children away from the unit.

power outlet please call a qualified electrical contractor.
The unit may then be turned on by pressing the POWER switch at which time the ON indicator
should indicate that the unit is running.

will be affected.
RxAir Customer Service for a technical representative if assistance in determining the
number of room air changes per hour is required.
