1. Hazard note
Faulty setting may lead to irreparable damage o the valves
connected.
Please note, that releasing the push button „Enable“ in act
shuts o the output, but does not reset the preset set point.
Thereby, with activating the push button „Enable“ again, the
maximal set point can be switched to the valve connected !
The permissible deviation o the set current rom the set point
is max. + 5%.
The eedback measuring accuracy is + 5%.

2. Per ormance characteristics
T e unit is equipped wit two independent c annels, eac provided wit a 6- and a 3-pole
output socket. T e performance c aracteristics described below apply to eac c annel.
a. Supply voltage
T e valve tester Valve Control VC 2a is supplied wit 115 / 230 VAC.
b. Output voltages
For energizing of valves t roug t e 6-pole output socket, t e VC 2a provides t e voltages
- +24VDC for maximal 4 A and
- +/- 15 VDC for maximal 2 A.
Additional simple valves can be operated by adaptor „A“ wit +24 VDC / 4 A.
At t e 3-pole output socket a voltage of +24 VDC for maximal 1,5 A is provided.
c. Voltage and current set points
T e following set point ranges are available on t e 6-pole output socket of VC 2a:
1. 0 .- 5 V
2. 0 - 10 V
3. +/- 5V
4. +/- 10 V
5. +/- 10 mA an 500 O m
6. +/- 20 mA an 300 O m
7. +/- 40 mA an 200 O m
8. +/- 400 mA an 25 O m
9. +/- 1200 mA an 5,4 O m
10. 0 - 10 mA an 500 O m
11. 0 - 20 mA an 500 O m
12. 4 - 20 mA an 500 O m
13. 0 - 40 mA an 300 O m
14. 0 - 400 mA an 25 O m
15. 0 - 800 mA an 20 O m
16. 0 -1600 mA an 5,4 O m
17. 0 - 2400 mA an 5,4 O m
18. 0 - 4000 mA an 4 O m

3. Operating elements and displays
Eac c annel possesses a four-line display for operator guidance and for setting t e
parameters of t e 6-pole output socket.
Above eac output socket is an „Enable“ pus button located, for activation of t e
corresponding output. T e output will be activated 1 s after pus ing t e button „Enable“.
T is will be indicated by a red LED on t e left side, respectively beneat t e associated
pus button. T e set point for t e analog output is adjusted by t e potentiometer „Value“.
T e last by „Enable“ activated set point is stored and ready for use at t e next power on
of t e VC 2a .
T e potentiometer takes effect over t e complete mec anical rotation angle according to
t e selected range:
0 - 10 V: min (left limit stop) 0V and max (rig t limit stop) 10V
+/- 20 mA min (left limit stop) -20mA and max (rig t limit stop) +20mA
4 - 20 mA: min (left limit stop) 4mA and max (rig t limit stop) +20mA
T at means, t e middle position of t e potentiometer corresponds to t e middle value of
t e selected range.

T e pus button „Step“ selects t e parameter to c ange. T e selected parameter is
marked wit „>“. T e value of t e parameter is c anged by t e pus button „Set“.

4. Brie instruction
1. Make sure, t at t e unit ist powered o . (Main switc at t e back side)
2. Connect t e main plug to power (Supply voltage 230 or 115 VAC)
3. Power up t e unit on at t e back side.
4. Connect t e required extensions to t e appropriate output sockets
5. T e parameter “Valve“ s ould be selected by power on
6. If not, activate t e parameter “Valve“ by pressing t e pus button “Step“.
7. Select t e circuit logic according t e table (see 7. „Supported valves“) wit t e pus
button “Set“
8. Select parameter “Range“ wit t e pus button “Step“
9. Select t e value for t e range wit “Set“
10.Select “Feedback“ wit “Step“
11.Select display of eit er absolute or per cent values
12.Select “Feedback“ range wit “Step“
13.Set t e feedback parameter using t e „Set“ key as appropriate for t e selected
valve.
14.Select “Value“ wit t e key “Step“
15.Switc over between absolute and per cent values wit “Set“ for displaying t e
setpoint
16.C eck / adjust t e set point at t e potentiometer
17.Activate t e pus button “Enable“ to power up t e valve. T e red LED will lig t up
immediately, but t e output is increased at an internal ramp of 1 s up to t e set
point.
18.C ange t e set point at t e potentiometer to move t e valve
19.To switc off t e valve, you pus t e button “Enable” again. T e red LED turns off
and t e output is ramped down to zero wit in 2 s. After t at t e relays for t e output
will be disconnected.
W ile t e output is activated, no c anges at t e general settings can be done.
T e 24 V switc ing output (3-pole output socket) is independent of t e above settings. It is
switc ed on or off exclusively by means of t e associated “Enable” key.
