Always consult your doctor concerning raised
temperatures and any other worrying
symptoms. It may be a good idea to establish
and record your usual temperature regularly
when not ill.
Whilst individuals may vary, normal
temperature is considered to be 37°C.
However, body temperature can vary from
36°C, up to the normal level.
A mild rise in temperature would be to about
37.4°C and you should consult your doctor if
your temperature remains at this for more than
24 hours or if your temperature rises to 38°C
and above.
Directions
Before measuring temperature, the thermometer
should be stabilised at the operating ambient
temperature for at least 30 minutes. The LCD will
display Er 1 when the ambient temperature is out
of range and cannot display temperatures.
Press the SCAN button to turn on the
thermometer. When the LCD displays 0.0°C or
---°C the thermometer is ready to use.
Setting the mode: After turning on the
thermometer press the MODE button to change
the measurement mode. (Face icon) body
temperature mode (cup icon) surface and liquid

temperature mode.
Taking temperature: The probe shall be aimed
at the forehead or other surface, from a distance
of 1-3cm, press the SCAN button and then
release it. When the measurement is complete,
the thermometer will report the measured
temperature, at the same time you can move the
thermometer away. The display will show the
measured temperature.
When in body temperature mode if the illuminated
display is orange, it indicates that you may have a low
fever. And if the display is red, it indicates that you
may have a high fever.
The display will show L if temperature is lower than
the measurement range and Hi if above the
temperature range.
If measuring temperature again, repeat as above. The
time between each reading should not be less than 1
minute.
Unit switch: Press the °C/°F button to switch between
Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Memory search: Press the MEM to display the last
temperatures taken. The thermometer will store the
last 32 temperatures taken.
Voice option: Press the VOICE MODE to turn the
talking feature on and off.
The thermometer will shut off automatically after 1
minute of inactivity. Alternatively if the MODE button is
held for about 4 seconds the thermometer will turn off.
Important: The area temperature differs from the
internal body temperature. Please ensure body mode
is selected for an internal temperature reading and
surface mode is selected for an external area reading.
