1. Product Overview
This set of automobile after-sales diagnostic equipment is a professional instrument for
SAIC MAXUS auto sales and after-sales diagnostic, It can detect vehicle faults in real time
and is a necessary tool in the after-sale automobile repair process. The after-sales
diagnostic equipment is consisted of two parts: diagnostic software (SAIC GRADE-X) and
diagnostic hardware (VCI I / II)
2. Environment configuration
This software works in Windows 7 and Windows 10(recommended) operating system
environment. The computer configuration is as follows:

32-bit or 64-bit , 2.4GHz or higher(Intel i5 processor or above)
Memory
8GB or above , DDR3 or above
Hard disk
100G or above , HHD or SSD(recommended)

Direct X9 WDDM 1.0 or above

1024*768 or more (1366*768 or 1600*900 recommended)

For the first time when SAIC MAXUS Diagnostic Software (SAIC GRADE-X) was
installed , it was requested that both CVDS+VCI Driver and Adobe AIR Software be

installed , if you need install the two software , please content your PC to the
internet ,download the relevant software , and follow the steps below:
1. Open your browser and enter the URL: https://obd.maxuscloud.com/download/
2. Select the CVDS+VCI Driver and Adobe Air software to download.(see picture below)
3. Click on the downloaded files to install.

4. Software installation
Before installing the diagnostic software, you need to install the VCI Manager software to
check if the VCI is working properly, so we need to make sure that the both software have
been installed: 1. CVDS+VCI Driver software; 2. Adobe Air software.
4.1 official address
If you install the software on your computer for the first time, you need to install the
installation package on the official website.

4.2 Installing GRADE-X and CVDS+ VCI Driver+ Adobe Air Installation Package
4.3 Test the VCI Manager connection
(1) Make sure that the connection of VCI Manager, the vehicle and the computer correctly,
as shown in Figure:

Note: After the test shows normal, you must exit the VCI manager software, otherwise
it will affect the normal use of the diagnostic software!!!
5. Active SAIC GRADE-X
SAIC GRADE-X software registration procedures are as follows:

5. 1 Ensure that the computer and the Internet are properly connected (the network is
working properly):
When running SAIC GRADE-X software , the page will pop up the computer
hardware information (This page only appears when the user opens the installation for the first
time. It will not be displayed after the activation is successful), as shown below:
5.2 Send Computer Hardware Information
Please copy the numbers in the red box above and send back to the Maxus
administrator via email. The Maxus administrator will notify you when you are activated. Please
also provide your repair station name and code, contact telephone number, contact email
address, VCI serial number to Maxus administrator, the registration table as shown:

5.3 After the activation, please click the “Refresh online”button in the figure below or
restart the SAIC Grade-X software
Note: If you still can't enter the main page of the diagnostic software after receiving the
activation notification, please check the following three points:
1. Whether the computer serial number in the submitted activation registration table is
correct;
2. Whether the computer network can be used normally, i.e. whether it can browse the
web normally;
3. Whether the local time of the computer is set correctly. If the date and time are
abnormal, please adjust it back to the correct date and time.

5.4 After successful activation, enter the diagnostic software page, as shown below:
5.5 Expiration date (It must be used once every 30 days in state of INTERNET available)
Each time you open SAIC GRADE-X, you will directly enter the main page of the
diagnostic software; the user must use SAIC GRADE-X once in a computing-networked state
within 30 days; if the user does not use the SAIC GRADE-X within 30 days, the system will
force the user to connect only use diagnostic software.
Note: After the use changes the computer, the original software will not be able to enter.
Please provide Maxus administrators with new computer hardware information
displayed by the software.
6. VCI driver should be selected before using SAIC GRADE-X
1. Open SAIC GRADE-X software
2. Select the correct use driver (as shown below)

7. Software upgrade
Note: Software update prompts can only be received after the diagnostic software has been
active.
7.1 Checking Updates
When your computer is connected to the network, if your computer is not installed with the
latest version of the software, you will receive a software update message automatically, as
shown below:

Right click the icon to select software, find the attribute, choose to open the file path, find the
wyUpdate.exe folder, click Update

8.1【 】VCI set
1) Connect the correct VCI equipment
2) If the VCI icon is dark, please install the VCI Manager software, as shown below:

8.2 Select Vehicles and Select ECUS
1）Click on the corresponding picture, select the vehicle you want to detect, [Manually
select ECU] or [Automatically check the connected ECU], as shown below:
2）Select the system to be tested or select all the system tests, Click [Ok] enter the test
interface, as shown below:

9. Frequently Questions
1. How to change the software language?
A：Select the top menu of the software interface【 】,as shown below：

2. What should l do if the software fails to open and encounters the following errors?
A: 1.1Please turn off 360, anti-virus software, firewall and other security software in your
computer.
1.2 Check id the current version is the latest version. You can check whether the current
version is the latest one through the following website, If it is not the latest version, please
download the latest (https://obd.maxuscloud.com/download/).
1.3 Check if your current operating system time is not the same as your mobile phone time,
please adjust the time of your computer to the same as your mobile phone (check the bottom
right corner of your computer screen)
1.4 If you have close your diagnostic software abnormally before, please restart your
computer.
1.5 If the above operation does not solve the problem, please uninstall your software and
download the full installation package again.
3. How does VCI set up wireless?
A: 1. First you need to install the VCI Manager software and open it, as follows:

2.Select the VCI and click connect
3.Select “network set”->”wireless (802.11)”The information in the red box is set and the
point application is set.
4. How does the software activate and register?
A: when you open the diagnostic software, the following prompt box pops up:
When you install the GRADE-X diagnostic software first time, please fill out the form and send it
to Maxus administrator, Email Address: [e-mail]

5. How to reset VCI?
A: When the VCI prompts the following message (1.VCI reprogramming error, enter the
recovery mode; 2.reprogramming problems), any error prompts need to be VCI needs to be
reset, as shown below:
2. Make VCI into RECOVER state by following procedure.
2.1 Disconnect the power supply of VCI, may need to disconnect the power line and
press the power button, check on the VCI lamp is extinguished, if the disconnection of the
power line, the power light is not extinguished, please remove the battery.
2.2 After the VCI is powered on, press and hold the power button at the same time to
know that all the status lights are on. Release the power button and wait until the rightmost light
is on, and a beep sounds that the recovery was successful.
2.3 When you open the VCI management software,you must use USB to connect VCI,
otherwise it can not be identified, as shown below:
2.4 During the recovery process, please do not disconnect USB and power.
2.5 As shown below, It means VCI recovery successful.

6. How to do when software cannot diagnosis system?
A: when you open the diagnostic software, Popup prompt box:
1. Note: When you open your software, the button in the red box is found to be gray, It means
you do not have the CVDS software installed, Please install the CVDS and VCI Manager
software first, otherwise the diagnostic software will not work properly.
2. If this is your first time to install CVDS software, please download and install 1.6.1 fault
package before installing the CVDS software package.
3. After the CVDS software is properly installed, As shown in the figure:

4．Correct Status
5. The following picture shows that the VCI is connected normally and you can use this
diagnostic software.

6. Two or more lights must be on when you look at the VCI lamp (normal green light, red light
indicates fault light).
7. When the ECU flashes the following situation as shown in the figure below, please solve the
problem as follows:
Please check whether the SAIC GRADE-X software version is the latest and the VCI firmware
version is upgraded to 2.4.33.5. Please delete the old SAIC GRADE-X software and the old VCI
management software before installation.
