PARTS DIAGRAM
BEFORE USING YOUR KETTLE
● If you are using the kettle for the first time, it is recommended that you clean your
kettle before use by boiling the MAX capacity of water once and then discarding
the water. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth.
● NOTE: The MAX capacity of the kettle is 1.7L.
USING YOUR KETTLE
● Place the unit on a level surface.
4

● To fill the kettle, remove it from the power base and open the lid by pulling
upwards on the lid grip, fill with the desired amount of water, and then securely
close the lid. Alternatively, the kettle may be filled through the spout. The water
level should not exceed the MAX mark or sit below MIN level. Too little water will
cause the kettle to switch off before the water has boiled.
● NOTE: Do not fill the water over the MAX1.7L level, as water may spill out of the
spout when boiling. Ensure that the lid is securely closed before plugging the
power outlet.
● Position the kettle on the power base.
● Connect the plug into a power outlet. Press the On/Off switch, the indicator light
in the switch will light up and the kettle will start to boil. Once the water has
boiled, the On/Off switch will go off automatically. You can shut off the power by
lifting the On/Off switch at any moment during boiling. If you want to boil water
again, only press the On/Off switch directly to restart the kettle.
● NOTE: Ensure that the On/Off switch is free of obstructions and the lid is firmly
closed as the kettle will not turn off if the switch is constrained or if the lid is
opened.
● Lift the kettle from the power base and carefully pour out the water through the
spout.
● NOTE: Take caution when pouring water from your kettle as boiling water may
result in scald and remember to not open the lid while the water in the kettle is
hot.
● The kettle will not re-boil until the On/Off switch is pressed again.
● The kettle may be kept on the power base when not in use.
1. NOTE: Always disconnect the power supply when not use.
BOIL-DRY PROTECTION
Should you accidentally let the kettle operate without water inside - the boil-dry
protection will automatically switch off the power. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool
before filling with cold water again.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and cool it down completely
before cleaning.
● This appliance is for household use only and is not user serviceable.
● Do not open or change any parts by yourself. Please refer to a qualified electrical
service department or return to the supplier if servicing is necessary.
● Always remember to unplug the unit from the electrical outlet when not in use
and before cleaning.
● Remember to clean the filter at intervals. For easier cleaning, detach the filter
and then replace it after cleaning.
● When not in use, the power cord can be stored at on the underside of the power
base.
● When not in use or when you want to store your kettle, the power cord may be
wound underneath the kettle.
5

● Do not use bleach or other abrasive substance or solvents to clean your
appliance as it can be damaging to the finish.
● Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid or hold it under a
running tap to clean.
● To remove stubborn spots/marks, wipe the surfaces with a cloth slightly
dampened in soapy water or a mild non-abrasive cleaner.
● In hard water areas, it is necessary to remove scale and water deposit markings
in the kettle, as this can cause premature operation of the boil-dry switch. There
are various kettle cleaners/kettle descales which remove scale, and markings,
available from supermarkets, chemists, and other stores.
REMOVAL OF MINERAL DEPOSITS
Your kettle should be periodically descaled as the mineral deposits in tap water may
form scale at the bottom of the kettle interior which can cause the kettle to operate less
efficiently. You can use the commercially available descale and follow the instructions on
the package of the descale. Alternatively, you may follow the instructions below:
1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar, and then add water to cover the
bottom of the kettle completely. Leave the solution inside the kettle overnight.
2. Discard the mixture in the kettle, then fill the kettle with clean water, boil and
discard the water. Repeat several times until the odour of vinegar has ceased.
Any stains remaining inside the spout can be removed by rubbing with a damp
cloth.

above. Ensure that all parts are dry before storing.
