1. Preface
Thankyouforchoosingourproduct.Youhavepurchasedaproductthatmeetsprecisespecificationsand
upholdsgloballyrecognizedqualitystandards.
Thepurposeofthisthicknessgaugeistowithstandthemostdemandingconditions,includingtemperature
variations,humidity,shock,dust,andvibration.Ourrigoroustestingstandards,alongwithourunwavering
commitmenttoensuringcustomersatisfaction,guaranteethatyoucanrelyonitsqualityatalltimes.
Youcanstartusingthedeviceimmediately,evenwithoutpriorexpertise,thankstoitsuser‐friendlydesign.
Thedeviceincorporatesadvancedtechnology,allowingyoutoeffortlesslyactivatetheextensiverangeof
additionalfunctions.

2.DeviceDescription
TheSaluTronD2Xcoatingthicknessgaugeisacompact,durable,anduser‐friendlydeviceoptimizedfor
yourconvenience.Itisdesignedasaversatiletoolwithmemoryandinterfacecapabilities,enablingnon‐
destructivemeasurementsonbothmagnetic(Fe)andnon‐magnetic(NFE)metalsurfaces(substrates).
TheFEprobeisspecificallydesignedformeasuringnon‐magneticcoatings,includinglacquer,plastic,
chrome,copper,zinc,enamel,etc.,onsteelorironsurfaces.
TheNFeprobeisintendedformeasuringinsulatingcoatings,suchaslacquer,plastic,enamel,etc.,onnon‐
magneticmetalssuchasaluminum,copper,brass,andevencertaintypesofstainlesssteel.

3.Maintenance
Toachieveoptimalresultsandensurealongservicelife,itiscrucialtohandlethedeviceproperly.Please
followtheseguidelines:
Avoidsubjectingthedevicetostrongshocksandpreventtheingressofdirt,chemicals,corrosive
substances,andwater.Thiswillhelpmaintainitsperformanceandaccuracy.
Regularlycleantheprobestoensureaccuratemeasurements.Removeanydirtorpaintfromthe
measuringheadtopreventinterferencewithreadings.
Ifthedeviceisnotgoingtobeusedforanextendedperiod,werecommendremovingthebatteries.
Thiswillhelppreservebatterylifeandpreventpotentialdamageduetobatteryleakage.
Intheeventofanyfaultsorissueswiththedeviceorprobes,pleaserefrainfromattemptingrepairs
onyourown.Instead,wekindlyrequestyoutocontactourservicecenter.Ourdedicatedteamwill
beavailabletoassistyouandprovidethenecessarysupport.
Byadheringtotheseguidelines,youcanensureoptimalperformance,longevity,andreliable
measurementsfromyourcoatingthicknessdevice.
4.PowerSupply
Thisgaugeispoweredbytwo1.5VAAbatteries.Thesebatteriesprovideextendedusageformany
thousandsofmeasurements,equivalenttoapproximately60operatinghourswithoutactivatingthe
backlight.Thebatterycapacitylevelisindicatedbyabatterysymbollocatedintheupperleftcornerofthe
display(refertothepicture).
Note:
Pleasedonotdisposeofusedbatterieswithhouseholdwaste.Instead,ensureproperdisposalat
designatedcollectionsites.
5.Measuring
Thegaugecomeswithanexternalcableprobe,two1.5VAAAlkalinebatteries,asetofmeasuringfoils,a
zeroplate,akitfordatatransfertoaPCandausermanual.Toturnonthedevice,simplypressthe
button.Onceturnedon,thedevicewilldisplaythedeviceIDandthelastmeasuredvalue.Tobegin
measurements,placetheprobeonthecoatingsurface.TheV‐grooveontheprobeheadisespecially
usefulformeasurementsonrods,pipes,andsimilarobjects.
Thegaugeisdeliveredwithanattachedprobe,batteries,asetofmeasuringfoils,azeroplate,kitfordata
transfertoPCandusermanual.Withthebutton
Magneticfields,electricfields,andelectromagneticradiationcanaffectthemeasurementaccuracyin
boththeFerro(Fe)andNon‐Ferro(NFE)sectors.Insuchsituations,itisnecessarytoperformazeroing
procedureforthedevice.Ifrequired,theprobeshouldbecalibratedusingthreenewstandardfoils.

'Applications'section.

Pleaserefrainfrommeasurementsonmagnetsastheymayproduceinaccurateresults.Additionally,to
preventanypotentialdamage,thedeviceautomaticallyshutsoffwhenexposedtohighelectrostatic
charges.
Whenthedeviceispoweredonandyoupressthe
button,theSaluTronD2Xwillimmediatelypoweroff.Ifthedeviceisnotused,itwillautomaticallypower
offafterapproximatelythreeminutes.Ifthedeviceisturnedonwithouttheprobescrewedin,ablinking
probeiconwillappearonthedisplayaccompaniedbyanaudiblesignal.Afterabriefperiod,the
devicewillautomaticallypoweroff.

theoptiontodeletethisinformationatanytimebyaccessingtheResetmenuitem(refertothemenu
descriptionformoredetails).

Theactiveapplication(calibrationoftheprobe)isshowninthefigureafterAp.Bypressingthebutton:
theinformation(dateandcomment)isshownforthisapplication.
Inadditiontothebasicpointmeasurement(withoutstorage),youcanalsoperformcontinuoussurface
measurements( )withthisdevice.Inthismode,twoorthreemeasurementsarerecordedand
displayedwithinasecond.However,pleasenotethatthesemeasurementsarenotusedtocalculatethe
continuouslydeterminedmeanvalue,soitwillnotbedisplayed.Onlinetransferofthedataisnotavailable
inthismodeeither.
Inthememorymode( )themeasurementsarenotonlydisplayedbutalsostoredindifferentblocks.
Thedisplayofthemean‐valuerefersherealwaystothemeasurementsthatarecurrentlystoredinthe
activemeasurementblock.

7.Zeroingofthedevice
Specialconditions,suchasfluctuatingtemperatures,theintroductionofnewbatteries,extendedperiods
ofnon‐use,orvariationsinsubstrates(surfaces),canpotentiallyimpacttheaccuracyofthe
measurements.Intheseinstances,itisadvisabletoperformregularzeroingprocedures.
‐Press inmeasuringmode.
‐Placetheprobeonthemeasuringfoil.Youwillhearabeep.
‐Lifttheprobeatleast5cmfromthefoil.Youwillhearabeep.
Thezeroingisnowcomplete.Thedevicegoesautomaticallyintothemeasurementmodeandisreadyfor
measurements.
Thefollowingsectionofthemanualdemonstratesthevariousoptionsavailabletotheuser,including
devicesettings,storage,andotheravailablefeatures.Theselectionoftheseoptionscanbetailoredtosuit

Inadditiontoperformingsinglepointmeasurementswithoutstorage,youcanalsocarryoutcontinuous
surfacemeasurementsusingthedevice.Inthismode,twotothreemeasurementsarerecordedand
displayedpersecond.Whenusingthememorymode,thesemeasurementsarestoredinthedevice's
database.

therearesituationswherenon‐standardmeasurementsarerequired,suchasmeasurementsoncurved
surfaces,andsoon.
Toenablethesespecializedmeasurements,theSaluTronD2Xoffersatotalof16applicationmemories.
Adjustingthedevicefortheseuniqueconditionsinvolvesconductingfourmeasurementsatdifferent
layersacrosstheentirerange.
Thefirstmeasurementpoint,knownasthe"zeropoint,"remainsfixedandrepresentsathicknessofzero.
Thismeasurementistypicallyperformedonbaremetal,azeroplate,oranuncoatedobjectmodel.
Additionally,threemeasurementsneedtobetakenusingsamplefilmsofvaryingthicknesses.Thechoice
ofthicknessforthesespecimenfoilsisflexible.Thefactorydefaultsettingsincludemeasurementsusing
foilsof50,250,and700µmforboththeFeandNFEprobes.
It'simportanttonotethattheselectedcalibrationfoilsmustalwaysbemeasuredinascendingorder,such
