Batteries
Open the batterycoverlocated on the rearof
the setbysliding itinthe direction shownby
the mark.InsertoneAAA (UM-4)sizebattery
intothe compartment. Ensurethatbatteryis
inserted inaccordancewiththe diagram
shownalongside the battery
indicator.
Note:Batteryshouldbe replaced when the
lowbatteryindicatorappearsin
the display.
During batteryreplacementensurethatthe
radioisturned off and the Lock switchisin
the lock position,thiswill preventloss of
memorypresetsduring batteryreplacement.
Batteryreplacementshouldbe completed
withinone minutetopreventloss ofstations
stored inmemorypresets.
If the radioisnottobe used forlong period,
setthe Lock switchtoLock position,thiswill
reducepowerdrainon the batteriesduring
storage.

Lock switch
The Lock switchisused toprevent
unintentionaloperation ofthe radio.
Setthe Lock switchlocated on the rightside
ofthe radiotothe Lock position.The power
and all otherbuttonswill be disabled,thiswill
preventaccidentaloperation when the radio
ispacked inasuitcaseortravelbag.
Topreventaccidentaloperation ofthe
controlswhen the radioisswitched on,set
the Lock switchtothe Lock position,the
symbolwill appearinthe display.Torelease
the Lock switch,movethe lock switchtothe
down(unlock)position,the symbolwill
be removed fromthe display.
Earphones
Plug the earphonessupplied intothe
earphonesjack located on the top ofthe
radio.

Antenna
The lead connecting earphonestothe set
alsoactsasan FMantenna when plugged
intothe earphonesjack.The lead shouldbe
extended asmuchaspossibletoincrease
the reception.
RadioOperation
AutoPreset
When the batteryisinserted intothe battery
compartmentforthe firsttime,with
earphonesplugged in,the radiowill quickly
and automaticallysetall yourmemorybased
upon the signalstrengthofthe incoming
stations,displaywill flashAUTOPRESET.
Among the manyconveniencesoffered by
thisfeature,itisespeciallyusefulforthe
travelerwho can automaticallyfind all the
localstationsinanystrange cityhe may
travelto.The radiowill turnoff automatically
afterAutoPresetisdone.Upto9stations
can be stored on Presetarea 1.

You mayalsoactivatetheAutoPreset
anytimewhen the radioisturned on by
pressing tuning Up/Downbuttonsatthe
sametimeformorethan 2.5seconds.
Note:Activating theAutoPresetfunction will
overwriteanystationspreviously
stored inthe memorypresets.
Turnon theradio
Turnon the radiobypressing the Power
button formorethan 0.7second.Orpress
the remotebutton on the supplied earphones
formorethan 1.5second toturnthe radioon.
Note:forDT-F1VNorthernAmerica,after
turning on the radiotoselectthe FMor
TVband bypressing the powerbutton
againforless than 0.7second,
pressing the powerbutton formore
than 0.7second will turnoff the radio.
Turnoff theradio
Turnoff the radiobypressing the Power
button formorethan 0.7second when radio
ison orpress the earphonesremotebutton
formorethan 1.5second toturnthe radiooff.

Scantuning
Turnon the radio,press and holddownthe
Tuning up orTuning downbutton formore
than halfasecond and releasethe button to
commencescan tuning.The radiowill scan
and stop automaticallywhen astation is
found.
Press and holddowneitherthe Tuning up or
tuning downbuttonsformorethan halfa
second toresumescan tuning.
Manualtuning
Turnon the radiobypressing the Power
button formorethan 0.7second.The desired
station maybe selected byrepeatedly
pressing the Tuning up orTuning down
button until station ofyourchoiceisreached.

Storingstationsinpresetmemory
Thereare9presetmemorieseachon area 1
and area 2(likepage 1and page 2on some
ofcarstereo receivers)intotal18 preset
memoriesforthisradio.
Turnon the radio,tune tothe desired
stationsusing scan and manualtuning as
previouslydescribed.Press the Memory
button (AREA/M.)2,the displaywill flash
Preset, press PRESETbutton 3toselect
memoryposition then pressAREA/Magain
tocompletethe memorypreset.
Tochange PRESETarea fromarea 1toarea
2and viceversa,pressAREA/Mformore
than 3seconds,displayAREA will flashthe
change,continue pressing foranother2
secondsuntil flashstops.The Presetarea
nowischanged (fromArea 1toArea 2and
viceversa).

Recalling thestationsfrom
presetmemories
Turnon the radio,press PRESETbutton to
selectthe required presetmemorystations.
Samewaytochange PRESETarea as
described aboveon storing stationsinpreset
memories.
Pressing remotecontrolbutton on the
supplied earphonesforless than 1.5seconds
can alsorecall the presetstations.
(Note:pressing remotecontrolbutton more
than 1.5second will turnoff the radio)
Mono/Stereo/DBB(Dynamic
Bass Boost) switch
If the station being received isweaksome
hiss maybe audible,toreducethe hiss,
switchthe button tomono mode,the stereo
indicatorwill be removed fromthe display.
Setting the switchtoDBB will enhancebass
sounds,displaywill showbothDBB and
STEREO.HoweverbothAM(MW)and TV
sound (DT-F1Vonly)aremono,displaywon’t
showSTEREO.

Autopoweroff
Inordertosavebatterypower,the radiois
designed toautomaticallyswitchoff after90
minutesofuse.Disconnectthe earphones
fromearphonesjack formore10 secondswill
alsoturnoff the powerautomatically.
DX/Localswitch
When you listen toastrong station and the
signalisslightlydistorted,setthe switchto
the LOCALposition forbestreception.For
normalorweakstations,setthe switchto
the DXposition formaximumsensitivity.

RESETbutton
If the radiofailstooperatecorrectly,orsome
digitson the displayaremissing or
incomplete,carryoutthe following
procedures.
1.Switchoff the radioand removethe
batteries.
2.Withthe aidofasuitableimplement(the
end ofapapercliporpen).Press the
RESETbutton located inthe bottomof
the radioforatleast5seconds,thiswill
resetthe microprocessorand clearall
stationsstored inthe presetmemories.

Quand laradione doitpasêtreutilisée
pendantun certaintemps,il estrecommandé
de mettrel’interrupteurde verrouillage en
position de verrouillage afinde réduirela
consommation de couranten provenancede
lapilependantlapériode d’inutilisation.
Interrupteurdeverrouillage
L’interrupteurdeverrouillage sert
àempêcherlacommande accidentelle
d’une fonction de laradio.
Mettrel’interrupteurde verrouillage se
trouvantsurlecôtédroitde laradioen
position de verrouillage.L’alimentation en
courantestcoupéeettouteslesautres
commandessontdésactivées,cequipermet
de prévenirun fonctionnementaccidentelde
laradioquand l’appareil estmisdansune
valiseou un sacde voyage.
Pourprévenirlacommande accidentelle
d’une desfonctionspendantque laradioest
en marche,mettrel’interrupteurde
verrouillage en position de verrouillage,le
symboleapparaîtàl’affichage.Pour
désactiverleverrouillage,faireglisser
l’interrupteurverslebas(déverrouillé)etle

Présélection automatique
Quand une pileestmisepourlapremièrefois
danslecompartimentàpileetque les
écouteurssontbranchés,laradiovamettre
automatiquementen mémoiredesstations
présélectionnéessurlabasede laforcedu
signalémisparlesstations,l’indication
AUTOPRESET(présélection automatique)
vasemettreàclignoteràl’affichage.Cette
caractéristique présentebien desavantages,
etson utilitéprincipalepourlevoyageur,
c’estqu’au coursde son voyage il peut
trouverautomatiquementlesstationslocales
chaque foisqu’il setrouvedansun nouvel
endroit. La radiovas’éteindredès que la
présélection automatique estterminée.
Jusqu’à neufstationspeuvent
êtremisesen mémoiredanslazone de
présélection 1.

Pourallumerlaradio,appuyersurlatouche
Marche/Arrêtpendantplusde 0,7seconde
ou appuyerpendantplusde 1,5seconde sur
latouche télécommande quisetrouvesurles
écouteursfournis.
REMARQUE:pourDT-F1VenAmérique du
Nord:après avoirallumélaradio,appuyerde
nouveau surlatouche Marche/Arrêtpendant
moinsde 0,7seconde poursélectionnerla
gammeFMou TV.Quand on appuiesurla
touche Marche/Arrêtpendantplusde 0.7
seconde,laradios’éteint.
