Your new tetephone uses one of 10 channels that are now available for cordless
telephones. Itautomatically selects aclear channel every time you receive or place

BASE STATION LOCATION
For maximum operating range, extend the base stationamenna to fulllength. mmost
cases, the best location forthe base station is at the highest point inthe house. Avoid
places near electrical appliances and metal structures such as a refrigerator and filing
cabi’!ets that can reduce operating range and performance.

CAUTIONS:
1If you operate this product near water (bathtub, swimming pool, kitchen), take
care to avoid contact between Ihe water and the handset.
1Never spill liquid of any kind on the handset. This may cause amalfunction.
IDo not operate this product with dirty hands or allow the handset to be
exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. This can cause blurring,
discoloration and fading of the lettering on the handset keypad. Discoloration
or fading will have no effect on the telephone performance.

CHARGING THE HANDSET SECURITY CODE
1. Place thehandset onthebase stalionfor12 hours. The CHARGE/lN USE
indicator hghts.

Standby time
When the handset battery is fullycharged, your Sanyo cordless phone offers up to 14
days of continuous standby time orup to 10 hours of continuous talk time. (Listed
starrdbytime is measured under asituation in which handset is kept in standby mode
only–nophone calls are made orreceived). Under normalusage conditions,recharging

WARNINGS
This cordless telephone may, on some longer Vnes, have difficultyfranding over
to another device connected to the same line.
Immediately disconnect the equipment should it become physically damaged,
and arrange for its disposal or repair.
The Qperation of this equipment on the same line as telephones or other
equipment with audible warning devices or automatic ring detectors will give
rise to bell tinkle or noise and may cause false tripping of the ring detector.
Should such problems occur, the user is not to contact Telecom Faults Sewice.

SPEED DIAL (Handset only)
The handset can store up to iOpfrone numbers in its memory. You can dial a
stored number simply by pressing the MEMORY button and the assigned 1-digit
memory location number.

FLASH BUTTON
You can use the FLASH button to answar the second party when you subscribe to
CALL WAITING service offered by your phone company and PBX system.
If you subscribe to CALL WAITING...
1. If acall comes in when you are already on the phone, abeep sounds

The firstcall is placed on hold, and you can talk to the second caller

NOTE: The FLASH button may also be used 10get anew dial tone wllhout pressing
the ~buttonor replacing the handset in the base station cradle. However, if your
telephone tine has special service featuras (like CALL WAITiNG), the FLASH button
may not operate in this way.
INTERCOM
The intercom feature allows wireless communications between the base and handset
users. The paging feature can also be used as a handset locator.

Battery Refresh
Ifyour battery seems to need recharging more often than usual, it may hava lost
DSrtof bchanairstcaadfy because of cmmeture recharcrina.To return the befterv
io its full cape+,- try ‘the battery refresh”procedure. - -
IDischarge the battery by leaving the handset in talk mode untilthe TALIU
BAIT. LOW indicator flashes. (First, disconnect baae station from phone line.)
ICharge the handset for 12 hours.
IRepeat this procedure once more.
If performance stilldoesn’t improve, it’s time to replace the battery.
REMEMBER: Reset securily code after abatte~ refresh (page 6)
REMEMBER:
Your handset battery neads recharging when you hear abeep every few
seconds during phone use. (The TALKIBATT. LOW indicator flashes at
the same intervals. )
Cleanfng the contact points
To ensure that the handset battary charges properly, ciean the contact points on
the handset and the base station once amonth with asoft cloth.

“ifyou have aproblem with your cordless telephone, try the following suggestions
Although it is unhkely that the base slation will malfunction, ifitdoes, disconnect itfrom
the telephone tine until proper repairs are compfeled.
The cordless telephone uses radio frequencies fortransmission and reception, and is
subjecl tocertain operating conditions. The followingconditionsare normal and could
affect the operation of your system.
1. NOISE
Electrical pulse noise is present in mosl homes at one time or another. This is most
inlense during electrical storms, Certain kinds 01electrical equipment such as light
dimmers, fluorescent bulbs, molors, fans, elc., also generate these noise pulses.
Because radio frequency transmissions are susceptible to these pufses, on occasion
you may hear them inyour handset. Generalfy they area minorannoyance and should
not ba interpreted as a defect in your system.
2. RANGE
Becausa radio frequencies are used, the location of the base station can affect the
operation range. Try several locations inyour homa or business and pickthe one that
gives you the cfearest signaftothe handset. Turning around while holdingthe handset
may help you find the best position.
3. INTERFERENCE
Electronic circuitsactivate arelay toconnect Ihe cordless telephone toyour telephone
line. These electronic circuits operate inthe radio frequency spectrum. While several
protection circuitsare used to prevent unwanted signafs, there maybe periods when
thase unwanted signals enter the base station. You may hear cficksor hear the relay
activate whifeyou are notusingthacordless handset. ffthisstartsoccurringfrequently,
itcan be minimized or eliminated by lowering the height of your base station antenna,
or relocating the base station. Check for interference before sefecting your final base
station focation by plugging it in and monitoring it for clicks.
Two cordfess systems should not be operated too close to each other because of
interference. This interference can be reducad by lowering yourbase station antenna,
thereby reducing its range.

1. D&onnect AC adaptor, and then reconnect AC adaptor to resat base station.
2. Disconnect then reconnect the handset battery.
