Resetting the SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-in Switch
If you need to remove the network configuration on your SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-
in Switch, or restore the factory default settings, press the the On/Off button for
about 10 seconds until the LED blinks.
IP Address Assignment
Savant recommends that the SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-in Switch IP address be
reserved in the DHCP server so that the SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-in Switch will
always get the same DHCP address when a power cycle is performed. To ensure
that the IP address of the SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-in Switch is reserved
permanently in the DHCP server, you must configure a DHCP reservation in your
DHCP server. If you prefer to use a static IP address, see the next page.
Best Practice
Savant recommends you configure one SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-in Switch at a
time.

Configuring SmartEnergy Switch Using the Web Interface
To access the Web user interface, the MAC address of the SmartEnergy Wi-Fi
Plug-in Switch is required. This can be found on a sticker affixed to the back of the
SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-in Switch.
To configure a WPS-0EW120 using a Web interface, do the following.
1. On the menu bar of your SDE, select the Wi-Fi icon:
2. View the wireless networks.
3. Select the SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-in Switch network, which is denoted by the
last six digits of the MAC ID with a PT_ prefix—for example, PT_000BB8.
Wait for the device to connect to the network.
4. Open a Savant-supported Web browser.
5. Enter 192.168.240.1/gsprov.html in the address bar.
The Device Setup Web page will display.
6. Click Client Settings.
7. Click Select an Existing Network.

The Web interface scans for available networks. This may take up to 45
seconds.
8. Click the Select button for the Wi-Fi network to which the SmartEnergy Wi-Fi
Plug-in Switch will connect. If preferred, you can enable Configure Scan
Parameters, to specify the Channel, Scan Time, and Scan Delay.
From the Configure Wireless and Network Settings page, you can choose
an unsecured network or secured network, and set up a static IP address (if
required).
The next screenshot shows an example with no security.
Alternatively you may prefer to select a secured network. For example, if you
select a network with Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA or WPA2), you will be
prompted to enter a passphrase.
If you prefer to configure a static IP address, insert a check mark for Advanced
Options. Select Static IP Address Configuration.
Use the next table to enter values for the fields under Advanced Options (if
configuring a static IP address).

(Typically this will be 255.255.255.0.)

Gateway IP of your network. Check with your network administrator.
(This is the IP address of the router.)
DNS Server
DNS server of your network. Check with your network administrator.
9. Click Next.
7. Click the Select button for the Wi-Fi network to which the SmartPlug will
connect. If preferred, you can enable Configure Scan Parameters, to specify
the Channel, Scan Time, and Scan Delay.
If you prefer to select a network with no security, click Next.
Alternatively you may prefer to select a network with more security, In this
case, you may be prompted to enter an Extensible Authentication Protocol
(EAP) user name and password.
8. Click Next.
9. Click Save.
10. Click Apply Settings.
Update Firmware of SmartPlug
After the SmartPlug is connected to a network, you can upgrade the device’s firmware using a
Web interface.
To do the firmware upgrade, you will require the following files:
•smartplug-2_...app1_BO.bin
•smartplug-2_...app2_BO.bin
•WFW-REL-2_5_1.bin
•Out_default.bin
To upgrade the firmware on your SmartPlug, do the following.
1. From your Web browser enter the following URL: http://192.168.240.1/
otafu.html.
2. Insert the check marks as shown in the previous screenshot, and click Choose
File to browse to the location of the applicable files.
3. Click Upload.

10. Click Save.
11. Click Apply Settings.
Next, you must use a preferred tool for scanning your network to confirm the IP
address of your SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-in Switch, so that you can add this IP
address to your RacePoint Blueprint™ configuration. Blueprint configuration of the
SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-in Switch is supported in Release da Vinci 5.2.3 or later.
Using a network scanning tool the SmartEnergy Wi-Fi Plug-in Switch will be shown
with this labeling: PowerTech Industrial Co., Ltd.
