• Refit the cover at the end of the unit using the two
supplied screws, ensure that no cables are snagged.
• Replacefuseor circuitbreaker andswitch on.Your
light is now ready for use.
Commissioning
• It is not possible to replace the battery in this unit.
When the unit does not light the 48012 for the full
duration, a new unit must be purchased.

commencing any work.
This unit must be fitted by a competent and qualified
electrician.
Install in accordance with IEE Wiring regulations and
currentBuildingRegulations.
To prevent electrocution switch off at mains supply
before installing or maintaining this fitting. Ensure
other persons cannot restore the electrical supply
without your knowledge.
This emergency unit should be connected to a fused
circuit.
If replacing an existing fitting, make a careful note of
the connections.
This product is not suitable for dimming.
Waste electrical products should not be disposed of

recycling advice.

Specification
Layout
• Planthedesiredlayoutofthisfittingcarefully,
ensuring the cables will reach the distance between
the outdoor rated junction box and the light fitting
• Avoidlocatinganycablesinpositionsthatwould
cause a hazard. Position cables and outdoor rated
junction boxes (not supplied) away from areas
where they may be at risk from being cut, trapped or
damaged
• Themainssupplycablemusthaveaminimumcross
sectional area of 1.0mm²
Existing fittings must be completely removed before
installation of a new product. Before removing the
existing fitting, carefully note the position of each set
of wires.
• Undothetwoscrewsattheendoftheunit,remove
the screws and cover and set aside.
• ThisproductusestheLEDdriverincludedwiththe
SAX01-48012.DonotuseanyotherLEDdriverwith
this product.
• Ensurethattheunitisfittedwherethereisadequate
ventilation. It should not be placed on top of the
SAX01-48012.
• Ensurethatthecablesarepulledthroughtheholes
in the cover prior to wiring.
Installation
Having correctly identified the wiring from your existing
light fitting, keep the connection block inside the product
in the following way:
• ConnectacablefromthemainsinputintheLED
drivertothemainsintheEmergencyUnit.
• ConnecttheoutputofthedrivertotheEmergency
Unit(plugA).
• ConnecttheoutputoftheEmergencyUnittotheLED
fitting (plug B).
• Connectthemainswiringtotheunitasshown.
• Thereisatestbuttonlocatedontheoppositesideof
theunittothecover.Usethisperiodicallytocheck
that the unit is working correctly.

Check that...
• Youhavecorrectlyidentifiedthewires
• The connections are tight
• No loose strands have been left out of the connection
block.
