To Make Ready F48T
Fit the tow bar to front edge of the frame.
The tow bar is adjustable to allow for the correct height adjustment to
your tow vehicle.
Hitch the frame to the tractor.
Place the attachment through the side frame hole.
Lift attachment up into slot on the other side of the frame and secure.
When in position for work, wind down jack legs to control depth of
attachment.
Fill and add Ballast tanks if required.
MAINTENANCE
Check periodically that the drawbar fixing nuts and bolts on the carrier
frame are tight.
Ensure the safety retaining pin is fitted
Wash down attachments after use.

ASSEMBLY 1 –A48, S48, HT48, R48
Each attachment is designed to be used with the tow bar level to the ground.
Remove the tool securing bar
Wind the jack legs up before fixing attachment
IMPORTANT
Never exceed a speed that allows the unit to bounce.
Do not attempt to slit or aerate when the ground conditions are too
hard to allow penetration
Weight can be added to aid depth penetration
Never reverse with tines in contact with the ground
Always work in straight lines, do not turn tight corners. This applies
especially if the ballast tanks are filled full of water.

AERATOR ATTACHMENT –A48
The Aerator is an ideal tool for Autumn
use breaking down the surface pan of
grassed areas, improving drainage and
allowing air penetration to the roots. The
three 25-litre ballast containers supplied
with the carrying frame, when full, will
provide added weight to help penetrate
hard surfaces. The transport wheels
make transportation from the place of
storage to the work area an easy
operation.
SLITTER ATTACHMENT –S48
The Slitter is an ideal tool to improve
drainage and root growth to grassed
areas, especially in late spring and wet
summers. Well drained grassed areas will
help towards the prevention of moss. The
slitters have springs fitted between to
keep the correct spacing between stars.
The transport wheels make transportation
from the place of storage to the work area
an easy operation.
HOLLOW TINE CORER –HT48
The Hollow Tine Corer has specially
shaped tines that plunge into the grass,
this removes a 'plug' of soil and turf.
When the tine goes into the turf the next
time round it pushes out the previous
core. The hollow tine corer leaves a neat
round hole, to allow top dressing and
fertiliser to easily reach the roots where
they are most needed.

HEAVY ROLLER ATTACHMENT –R48
The Heavy-duty Firming Roller is made to
"firm up" grassed areas in the spring
before the heavy growth period
commences.
IMPORTANT
Please see Assembly 1 for instructions on:
- Aerator –A48
- Slitter –S48
- Hollow Tine Corer –HT48
- Roller –R48

ASSEMBLY 2 –AM48, D48, B48, L48
Wind jack legs up to allow positioning of tenons into the “V” of the
attachment.
Remove the tool-securing bar.
Manoeuvre the frame over the top of the attachment to be used.
Push the tool-securing bar through the attachment, replace the holding
bolt.
When in position for work add ballast as required to suit conditions.
Not always necessary

ARENA MAINTENANCE ATTACHMENT –AM48
This attachment has been designed to
rejuvenate and level most types of surfaces. The
unit consists of one row of spring tines, which
tease through the surface to break up the top
surface pan. The following level bars level the
surface. The wheels can be trailed on the
surface to reduce drag and allow for light/faster
finishing to surface.
DETHATCHER ATTACHMENT –D48
The carrier frame fitted with the heavy duty
dethatcher. Comprises of two rows of
staggered shock coiled tines which will tease
out heavily matted grass and encourage
tillering during the growing season. The DTC
can also be used to "freshen up" gravel drives,
paths and horse arenas. The transport wheels
make transportation from the place of storage
to the work area an easy operation.
The tines are not designed to penetrate the soil, they tease through the mat of
grass to pull out dead thatch.
BRUSH ATTACHMENT –B48
The Heavy-Duty Brush Attachment is
made up of two rows of stiff brushes.
The brush attachment once fitted to the
carrier frame, will brush in top dressings
and lawn sand. It will also put those
much-admired stripes into the lawn. It can
also be used on artificial playing surfaces.

LUTE ATTACHMENT –L48
The lute is a useful tool for levelling soil
areas prior to seeding. The lute will level
and freshen up sand menages leaving a
smooth level surface. The lute may also
be used on gravel driveways, or to level
out molehills on the lawn.
IMPORTANT
Please see Assembly 2 for instructions on:
- Arena Maintenance –A48
- Dethatcher –D48
- Brush –B48
- Lute –L48

SORRELL ROLLER ATTACHMENT –S48
The Sorrel roller attachment is ideal to
break up the crust that forms on compacted
soil. The spikes penetrate the surface
which allows the air, nutrients and
especially water, to start their journey into
the roots.
ASSEMBLY
Reverse the frame over the roller
Lower the frame so it is in a position over the roller
Offer the bare axle end through the hole on the roller frame
Either way -
(a) Lift the roller with a length of rope around the roller, making sure the plate on
the roller shaft slides up the outside of the frame. Place the holding bolt through
the plate and screw into the frame. Tighten the bolt.
(b) As above but lower the frame on to the roller once the plain shaft end is in
place.

SAFETY
The roller with its multiple spikes makes a dangerous object to handle and move.
Extra care must be given when the roller is handled. It is always advisable to
have two persons handling it.
Do not leave it in such a position that it could be a danger to passing
persons.
Try to cover up the roller when not in use i.e. heavy sacking, old
tilts/carpet etc.
If you do harm yourself with the spikes seek medical attention.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not use the system in close
proximity to other people.
IMPORTANT
Do not turn sharply with spikes in penetration.
Always lift when turning.
Wash down after use.
Do not travel at speeds which allow the unit to bounce.
Top weight may be added for required penetration.

POWER SPRAYER ATTACHMENT –SP48
The sprayer attachment bolts onto the
carrier frame. The chemical is carried
in the 70-litre container supplied with
the sprayer. The 12-volt power
sprayer pump is powered from the
tractor battery. The sprayer is ideal for
applying fertiliser and/or weed killers
to grassed areas. A brass lance is
supplied with a wedge nozzle, also a
three-nozzle boom.
Manual Spraying - the trigger lance is ideal for spraying insecticides on fruit trees,
shrubs and roses, it can also be used for spraying herbicides onto nettles, docks
etc.
ASSEMBLY
Remove the rear bolt securing the tow bar to the frame (keep in a place
you can easily find it again)
Lower the sprayer onto the frame with the bottom-securing bolt going
through the tow bar hole.
Replace the nut and tighten.
POWER SUPPLY
Connect the power lead to the battery of the towing vehicle
Power to the pump on/off is achieved by pressing the black button
switch on the handgrip.
SPRAYING –BOOM & TRIGGER GUN
For Boom Spraying - The rear adjustable boom holding bracket should be
positioned so that the bracket is facing out the back.
Fix the boom to the bracket, from the spray tip to the ground should be 450mm
(18"). This height can be achieved by adjusting the frame support wheels
For Trigger Gun Spraying –Fix the delivery hose to the trigger gun.

IMPORTANT
Do not let the pump run dry.
Flush through with clean water after use.
There are two filters:
- A mesh filter on the base of the pump
- Within the brass trigger lance handle
They must be kept clean.
Oil or tar-based products must not be used in this sprayer.
Always protect the unit from frost / do not let the unit freeze.
The sprayer is designed to accommodate chemicals that can be
purchased from your garden centre.
SAFETY
Always read and observe the safety instructions given on the container
of the product you are going to use.
Wear protective clothing and eye wear.
Do not inhale the chemical.
Do not allow the chemical to come into contact with food.
Do not smoke whilst operating the sprayer.
Do not allow spray to contaminate rivers or ponds.
Do not allow children to play with the sprayer.
Do not spray on a windy day.
Always keep the spray nozzle as close to the subject as possible.

CALIBRATION –USE WATER ONLY
Spraying with Boom –
Measure the flow from one of the nozzles over a recorded period of
time.
Multiply by the number of nozzles, this will give you the flow rate x travel
over a measured distance and time; this will give you your forward
speed.
A combination of flow and speed will allow you to work out dilution rates
etc. required
THE SCH SIMPLE METHOD
Read the instructions on the container. Somewhere it will state the area it will
cover:
If the can states it will cover XX square metres –measure out XX
square metres; go over the XX square meters (north to south & east to
west) until sprayer is empty.
We recommendthat you try the sprayer with water, observe flow rates
etc. You need only fill the sprayer to the quantity of spray required for
each job.
