This Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty (“Limited Warranty”) is effective with respect to Schuler Products
sold by dealers after September 1, 2006, until revised by Schuler Mfg. & Equip. Co., Inc. (“Schuler”).
A. General Provisions. The limited express warranties described in this Limited Warranty are
provided by Schuler to the original purchasers of new equipment manufactured by
Schuler that is purchased from authorized Schuler dealers. These warranties only apply to
equipment intended for sale in the United States. Subject to the proration schedule and the
limitations with respect to a Planetary Gearbox, as set forth in paragraph B below, under these
warranties, Schuler will during the applicable warranty period, repair or replace, at its sole
option, any covered part which is found by Schuler in its discretion, to have been defective in
material or workmanship at the time the dealer sold the equipment to the original purchaser.
Warranty service must be performed by a dealer or service center located in the United States
and authorized by Schuler to service the type of product involved, only new or remanufactured
parts furnished by Schuler may be used and all Schuler warranty pre-authorization and claim
procedures must be followed. All warranty work must be performed at the place of business of
authorized dealer or service center. Service provided by an unauthorized service provider
is not covered and will void the warranty for the then remaining warranty period. You
should verify that the service provider is authorized by Schuler to provide service. The
warranties provided in this Limited Warranty will not be effective if the dealer did not instruct
the original purchaser on recommended service and maintenance for the equipment.
Subject to the proration schedule and limitations with respect to a Planetary Gearbox, as set
forth in paragraph B below, warranty service will be performed without charge to the
purchaser for parts or labor. In all events, the purchaser will be responsible for (i) any
service call and/or transportation of the equipment to and from the dealer’s or service center’s
place of business, (ii) any premium charged for overtime labor requested by the purchaser,
(iii) any loaner equipment or rental equipment and (iv) any service and/or maintenance not
directly related to any defects covered under the warranties provided in this Limited
Warranty.
In addition to the warranties set forth in this Limited Warranty, if the sale of the equipment
is covered by the provisions of Chapter 19 of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, and if
the equipment was defective at the time of the sale, and if the dealer who sold the equipment
notifies Schuler within thirty (30) days from the date of sale that the dealer has determined
that the equipment cannot be made usable, Schuler warrants that it will, at its option, either
provide the purchaser with a cash refund or replace the equipment.
B. What is Warranted; Warranty Period. All parts of any new Schuler equipment are warranted.
The warranty period on all items that are warranted by this Limited Warranty (other than the
Planetary Gearbox, tires, tubes and batteries) is twelve (12) months. The warranty period for
tires, tubes and batteries is two (2) months. The warranty periods and the prorated
warranty for repair or replacement of a planetary gearbox mounted to drive vertical mixer auger
(“Planetary Gearbox”) shall be as follows with respect to a Planetary Gearbox that is
covered by the warranty set forth in this Limited Warranty:

1 - 12 months Schuler will, at its sole option, repair or replace without
charge for parts or labor, the Planetary Gearbox at Schuler’s
sole expense. Shaft seals and o-rings of the Planetary
Gearbox are not warranted beyond 12 months.
13 - 18 months Schuler will provide to the dealer the necessary parts, at a
price equal to fifty (50%) of the “Suggested List Price” or
“List Price” plus shipping costs, to repair or replace, at
Schuler’s sole option, the Planetary Gearbox. The original
purchaser will be responsible for all labor costs, and the
costs of the parts (including shipping costs), as charged by
the dealer, necessary to repair or replace, as applicable, the
Planetary Gearbox. The shaft seals and the o-rings of the
Planetary Gearbox are not warranted.
19 - 30 months Schuler will provide to the dealer the necessary parts, at a
price equal to seventy percent (70%) of the “Suggested Retail
Price” or “List Price” plus shipping costs, to repair or
replace, at Schuler’s sole option, the Planetary Gearbox. The
original purchaser will be responsible for all labor costs and
the costs of the parts (including shipping costs), as charged
by the dealer necessary to repair or replace, as applicable,
the Planetary Gearbox. The shaft seals and the o-rings of the
Planetary Gearbox are not warranted.
The warranty period begins on the date of purchase provided
the purchaser completes the warranty registration form
located in the owner’s manual supplied with the equipment,
and returns the warranty registration to Schuler postmarked
within fifteen (15) days from the date of the purchase of the
equipment, or, if the purchaser does not timely return the
warranty registration form, as provided above, the warranty
period begins from the date the equipment was shipped by
Schuler to the dealer.
C. Exclusions. Schuler is not responsible for, and the limited warranties provided
herein do not apply to, any of the following: (i) used products, (ii) any product that
has been altered or modified in any way or repaired without Schuler’s prior written
authorization, (iii) depreciation or damage caused by abuse, negligence, improper
use, normal wear, lack of reasonable and proper maintenance, failure to follow
Schuler’s maintenance and operation recommendations as provided in the owner’s
manual and any applicable service updates issued by Schuler, as determined by
Schuler in its sole discretion, (iv) normal maintenance parts and service, including,
but not limited to, hydraulic oil, bearing oil/grease, motor oil, filters of any kind, and
wood products, (v) replacement parts other than to the extent covered by this
Limited Warranty during the original warranty period with respect to the original
new equipment, and (vi) minor fluid seepage or moisture on the outside of parts.
Schuler does not provide any warranty with respect to any vehicles on or in which
parts or equipment manufactured by Schuler have been installed and Schuler
makes no warranty with respect to equipment not manufactured by Schuler.

D. Obtaining Warranty Service. To obtain warranty service, the original purchaser
must (i) report the suspected product defect to an authorized dealer and request
repair within the applicable warranty period, (ii) present evidence, satisfactory to
Schuler, of the date that the warranty period began and (iii) make the product
available to the dealer or service center within a reasonable time.
E. No Implied Warranties or Other Remedies. Where permitted by law and to the
extent permitted by law, Schuler makes no warranties, representations, or
promises, express or implied as to the quality, performance or freedom from defect
of the equipment covered by this Limited Warranty other than those expressly set
forth in this Limited Warranty. WHERE PERMITTED BY LAW AND TO THE EXTENT
PERMITTED BY LAW, SCHULER HEREBY DIS-CLAIMS ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY
OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, TO THE EXTENT APPLICABLE, SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO
THE APPLICABLE TERM OF WARRANTY SET FORTH IN PARAGRAPH B ABOVE.
THE PURCHASER’S ONLY REMEDIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE BREACH OR
PERFORMANCE OF ANY WARRANTY ON SCHULER EQUIPMENT ARE THOSE
EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. IN NO EVENT SHALL
SCHULER BE LIABLE FOR ANY EXEMPLARY, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO,
LOST PROFITS, DAMAGE TO PROPERTY (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO,
OTHER EQUIPMENT), OR DAMAGES ASSOCIATED WITH THE EQUIPMENT BEING
UNAVAILABLE FOR USE. (Note: Some states do not allow exclusions of implied
warranties or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or
limitation of incidental or consequential damages so the above limitations and
exclusions may not apply to you.) In the event the express limited warranties
provided for in this Limited Warranty fail to correct the defect in materials or
workmanship, the purchaser’s exclusive remedy shall be limited to the payment by
Schuler of actual damages in an amount not to exceed the amount paid for the
product. This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also
have other rights which vary from state to state.
F. Improvements. Schuler reserves the right to incorporate improvements in
materials and/or design in its products with no obligation to incorporate such
improvements into previously manufactured equipment.
G. No Dealer Warranty. THE SELLING DEALER HAS NO AUTHORITY TO MAKE ANY
RESPRESENTATION OR PROMISE ON BEHALF OF SCHULER, OR TO MODIFY THE TERMS OR
LIMITATIONS OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IN ANY WAY.

DEALER LABOR
If Dealer performs warranty work on behalf of Schuler and if such warranty work is work for which Schuler agreed
in its limited warranty to pay labor costs, Schuler shall compensate Dealer for such warranty work at the hourly
rate of $45.00 per hour. Hours shall be reported in full hours worked plus fractional hours-expressed in tenths
of an hour.
Labor paid is based on work done at the place of business of a dealer authorized to handle Schuler machinery.
IF SERVICE WORK IS REQUIRED IN THE FIELD, MILEAGE CHARGES ARE DEALERS RESPONSIBILITY.
No warranty work shall be performed without first consulting with Schuler and obtaining Schuler’s authorization
for repair services. Failure to first contact Schuler may result in Schuler rejecting Dealer’s request for
compensation for warranty work performed.
PARTS TO BE RETURNED BY DEALER TO SCHULER
Dealer shall complete a Warranty Claim for each failed part. The Warranty Claim shall include a report of the
failure. The following procedures shall be followed in regard to returned parts:
1. Dealer must hold parts submitted forWarranty Claims for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the
date Dealer receives claim.
2. Schuler will, within the sixty (60) day period referred to in Paragraph 1, inform Dealer if a part is to be
sent to Schuler.
3. Any part Schuler requests from Dealer must be sent within thirty (30) days of the request.
4. Dealer should send the requested parts to Schuler to the attention of the Warranty Department. Dealer
shall pay the freight to ship the part. If the part is received and the Warranty Claim approved, Dealer
shall be reimbursed for freight costs based on normal ground transportation. If the shipment must be
expedited, the Dealer will be charged for the cost above the normal ground transportation cost.
Dealer acknowledges that Dealer has reviewed Schuler’s limited warranty for the Planetary Gearbox and Dealer
agrees that to the extent that the Limited Warranty requires the purchaser to pay for a portion of the cost of the
parts for the Planetary Gearbox, Dealer will provide such parts for the price that the purchaser is obligated to
pay pursuant to the Limited Warranty. If Schuler’s Limited Warranty for the Planetary Gearbox provides that any
parts will be provided by Schuler to the Dealer at a percentage of Schuler’s “Suggested Retail Price” less Dealer’s
applicable discount for parts as applied against the applicable discounted amount, Schuler agrees to provide
such parts to Dealer for such price.

Buyer hereby acknowledges that Schuler Manufacturing and Equipment Co., Inc. (I) is not the manufacturer of
the truck being sold by Schuler Manufacturing and Equipment Co., Inc. and purchased by buyer (The “truck”)
and (II) that Schuler Manufacturing and Equipment Co., Inc. purchased the truck in used condition from a third
party. The purchaser agrees that the truck is being sold by Schuler Manufacturing and Equipment Co., Inc. and
is being purchased by the purchaser “as is” “with all faults” and Schuler Manufacturing and Equipment Co., Inc.
makes no express warranties with respect to the truck, other than the express warranty that Schuler
Manufacturing and Equipment Co., Inc. has good and marketable title to the truck and the truck is free and clear
of all liens, encumbrances and security interest. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT
LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY ENTIRELY EXCLUDED AND DISCLAIMED. IN NO EVENT SHALL SCHULER

SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT OF THE SALE
OF THE TRUCK.

If this is your first Schuler Built Product, “WELCOME ABOARD”. You are now part of a very
large growing family. Although we are talking about thousands of people, we still like to think
of each one of our customers as a member of the Schuler Family. We take personal interest in
the Schuler Product you bought. With normal use, it will serve you well for many years.
Now that you are a part of the family, you might like to know a little more about our organization.
The fast growth of Schuler Mfg. from our local Griswold area to nationwide and foreign exports
was no accident. From starting in 1964 in a remodeled chicken house, management determined
to make our Lord Jesus Christ our Senior Partner and each Schuler Product must reflect the
integrity of management, including our Senior Partner. If sometimes we fail on our part it is
because we are human, but we find it imperative to do our utmost to make it right. Of course to
us, our Lord, besides being our Senior Partner, is our HeavenlyFather also. It is a greatblessing
to us to have this security in these troubled times. If any of you are troubled or perplexed and
looking for answers, may we invite you to look to Jesus, for He loves you and wants you to

INTRODUCTION
THANK YOU for purchasing Schuler Equipment. Your business is appreciated. Schuler Mfg.
has been manufacturing feeding and mixing equipment since 1964. These many years of
experience have gone into building the most rugged and dependable equipment available.
THIS MANUAL should be considered a permanent part of your mixer/feeder, and should remain
with the machine at all times, even when you sell it. Before you operate your mixer/feeder, be
sure you understand and follow all the operation, lubrication, and safety instructions in this
manual.
MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBERS for Schuler Equipment are located on the rear of the
mixer/feeder frame, right-hand side, stamped on a plate riveted into the frame. This information
should be given to your dealer when ordering parts, or for any service questions. “Right-hand”
and “left-hand” are determined by standing at the rear of the mixer/feeder and facing forward in
the direction of travel.

SERIAL NUMBER AND MODEL NUMBER
The Serial Number and the Model Number of the Schuler HF Feeder is found on the rear, right hand
frame of the wagon. The serial number is stamped on a plate riveted into the frame just above the
spring tightener. The model Number of the HF Feeder Wagon is located on the front upper right hand
corner of the wagon.

SAFETY
UNDERSTAND SAFETY WORDS AND SYMBOLS
The header of safety decals on this equipment contain a “signal word” and color code to indicate the
severity level of the hazard. The most common safety decal headers are as follows:
IMPORTANT - outlines actions that promote safety or prevent machine damage, in black and white.
WARNING - denotes a specific potential hazard, and uses the color orange.
DANGER - denotes a most serious specific potential hazard, and uses the color red.
READ THE OPERATORS MANUAL
Any person who will be operating or maintaining this equipment should first read and understand this
manual and all safety warnings on the unit.
This instruction manual should always be available to those responsible for the operation and
maintenance of this equipment. It is the owner’s responsibility to provide this safety information to his
operators and employees.
Any person who does not understand the safety and operation instructions contained in this manual
should not be considered qualified to operate this mixer.
FOLLOW SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Specialized procedures and instruction are required and must be adhered to when working on this
equipment. Failure to follow the instructions contained in this manual could result in product or
property damage, severe personal injury, and/or death. All applicable safety procedures such as
OSHA requirements, regional and local safety codes and requirements, safe working practices and
good judgment, must be used by personnel when operating or maintaining this equipment.
This SAFETY ALERT SYMBOL is used in this manual whenever
personal safety is involved and means ATTENTION! BECOME
ALERT! It stresses an attitude of “HEADS UP” for safety. Read
and understand all pages in this manual that bear this safety
symbol and……TAKE TIME TO BE CAREFUL!

SAFETY
OPERATING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
When the mixer / feeder is in operation it has many moving parts which could
cause severe injury or death to persons coming in contact with these parts. To help avoid
serious accidents, the following guidelines should always be followed.
1. BE SURE ALL SAFETY SHIELDS are in place before operating, including driveline shields.
2. NEVER PUT HANDS, ARMS, OR FEET INSIDE MIXER/FEEDER, or discharge chute opening, nor
climb on or in the mixer/feeder while it is running. NEVER allow anyone to position themselves
over or near the top of the mixer/feeder while it is running. Rotating auger and/or moving chains
can grab clothing, or create pinch points which can cause severe injury or death to the operator
or bystanders. Always stop engine and remove PTO driveline/hydraulic hoses so that the
mixer/feeder cannot be accidentally turned on while inspecting, servicing, repairing, or cleaning.
3. NEVER ATTEMPT TO RELEASE JAMMED MATERIALS OR CLEAN MATERIALS from any area of
the mixer/feeder or discharge chute without turning the mixer/feeder off first. Moving parts can
be hidden by materials, and stopped parts can start unexpectedly, causing severe injury. Always
stop engine and remove driveline/hydraulics before attempting to un-jam or clean.
4. DO NOT ALLOW OPERATION of the mixer by inexperienced and unqualified people. Keep all
unqualified people away from equipment during operation. Operators of the mixer/feeder must
use common sense at all times.
5. DO NOT wear loose or floppy clothing while operating the mixer/feeder. Loose clothing may
become entangled in moving machinery.
6. BE SURE the inside of the mixer/feeder is clear of any obstructions and that all shields are in
place before operating. Repair or replace any damaged or missing shielding. Exposed machinery
due to missing shielding can cause severe injury or death.
7. SHOULD A PROBLEM OCCUR during operation of mixer/feeder, always stop engine and
remove PTO driveline/hydraulic hoses before investigating problem.
8. USE CAUTION WHEN WORKING AROUND THE DISCHARGE AREA. Never reach around or
over the discharge auger. Discharge auger can quickly grab clothing or hand, causing severe
injury to operator or bystanders.

SAFETY
TRANSPORTING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Do not allow anyone to ride on or in the Schuler mixer/feeder.
Do not exceed 10 mph when traveling over smooth dry areas, and reduce speed when traveling loaded
and/or over rough, soft, or wet terrain. Exercise caution on side slopes and when turning corners.
The weight of the tractor should be at least 50% or more of the loaded mixer/feeder weight. Do not
exceed over 10 mph when towing a loaded mixer/feeder.
Avoid operating the mixer/feeder when making sharp turns, or towing over uneven terrain.
When working on slopes or inclines, traveling uphill or downhill, keep the tractor transmission in gear.
When unhitching mixer/feeder from the tractor, stop on level ground and block the tires.
Whenever towing the equipment with a tractor on a public road, always use the tractors flashing amber
lights. If the tractors flashing lights or tail lights are obscured from the rear by the towed equipment,
then the Schuler optional light kit P.N. 10050-0051, or equivalent, must be installed on the equipment.
Make sure the SMV (Slow Moving Vehicle) emblem and reflectors are clean and properly maintained so
they can be seen clearly by all overtaking traffic.
Whenever towing the equipment and especially when towing on public roads, a safety tow chain with an
ultimate strength equal or greater than the gross weight of the equipment should be used. Safety tow
chain may be ordered as an option from Schuler Mfg. Safety tow chain illustrated page 11.
For towing a 10,000 lb. maximum gross weight, order Schuler P.N. 34T10-0000 safety tow chain.
For towing a 20,000 lb. maximum gross weight, order Schuler P.N. 34T20-0000 safety tow chain.
When towing the mixer/feeder always keep the discharge slide chute in the upright position, against the
mixer/feeder body.

OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS
Operation of this equipment shall be limited to competent and experienced persons. In addition, anyone
who will operate or work around this equipment must use good common sense. In order to be qualified,
he or she must also know and meet all other requirements, such as:
1. Some regulations specify that no one under the age of 16 may operate power machinery.
It is your responsibility to know what the regulations are in your area or situation.
2. Current OSHA regulations state in part - At the time of initial assignment and at least
annually thereafter, the employer shall instruct EVERY employee in the safe operation and
servicing of all equipment with which the employee is, or will be involved.
3. Unqualified persons are to STAY OUT OF THE WORK AREA.
4. A person who has not read and understood all operating and safety instructions is not
qualified to operate the machine.
FAILURE TO READ THE MIXER/FEEDER MANUAL AND ITS SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS IS A MISUSE OF THE EQUIPMENT!
SIGN-OFF FORM
Schuler follows the general standard specified by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE)
and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Anyone who will be operating and/or
maintaining this equipment must read and clearly understand ALL SAFETY, OPERATING AND
MAINTENANCE information presented in this manual.
DO NOT OPERATE OR ALLOW ANYONE ELSE TO OPERATE THIS EQUIPMENT UNTIL SUCH
INFORMATION HAS BEEN REVIEWED. WE FEEL THAT AN UNTRAINED OPERATOR IS
UNQUALIFIED TO OPERATE THIS MACHINE.

WHEN FIRST OPPERATING YOUR NEW MACHINE
1. When towing a new machine, stop and feel the wheel hubs after 6-10 miles. If hub is hot
to the hand, remove hub cap and back spindle nut off 1/4 –1/2 turn.
2. Check for proper assembly and adjustments. Make sure all lift flight bolts, floor flight
bolts, hitch bolts, wheel bolts, sprocket and pulley set screws, etc. are tightened
securely. After a few days of use, check and re-tighten all sprockets, bearings and
pulley set screws. PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT!!
3. Check tires and inflate to the recommended pressure.

315/80R 22.5 -- 100PSI
385/65R 22.5 -- 75PSI
4. Adjust the tractor drawbar as described on Page 8.
5. Have all shields in place. DO NOT OPEN SHIELDS WHILE THE MACHINE IS RUNNING
OR OPERATE MACHINE WITH SHIELDS REMOVED.
6. Before loading, operate machine very slowly for a short time. On first few loads,
operate machine slowly so chains can work in and ensure that all parts work freely.
7. DO NOT ADD ANY SIDE BOARDS TO YOUR MIXER/FEEDER OTHER THAN WHAT IS
FURNISHED BY THE FACTORY.

HITCHING TO THE TRACTOR
1. Attach mixer/feeder to the tractor drawbar with a 1 1/8” diameter hitch pin
with a locking retainer so pin cannot bounce out.
2. Raise jack and lock in horizontal position.
CAUTION – ALWAYS TRANSPORT A LOADED MIXER/FEEDER AT SLOW SPEED
(10mph OR LESS) AND BE EXTRA CAREFUL IN HILLY COUNTRY.

SAFETY CHAIN
Whenever towing the mixer/feeder and especially on a public road, observe these
instructions:
1. Mount chain on hitch channel by running chain through loop and running hook through
the large ring at end of chain and pull tight as shown in Figure A.
2. Run the chain through an intermediate support bolted on the tractor drawbar, then wrap
the chain around a supporting member of the tractor and hook as shown in Figure B.
Safety chain shall have no more slack, when in use, than necessary to permit proper
turning.
CAUTION –NEVER TRANSPORT THE MIXER/FEEDER UNTIL THE HITCH PIN IS SECURED IN
POSITION AND THE SAFETY CHAIN IS PROPERLY INSTALLED.
LOADING THE WAGON
In winter weather before loading, be sure the floor apron and elevator are not frozen to
the floor.
Begin loading the mixer/feeder at the front end and work toward the back.
For best mixing action, load each ingredient in a layer across the length of the box.
Generally the more coarse materials should be loaded first on the bottom with finer
materials on top.
ATTENTION FOR UNITS WITH ELECTRONIC SCALES
Always remove the scale indicator box before welding on the equipment. Be sure, if welding is
necessary, that the welding current does not pass through a weigh bar. Ground to the item
being welded. If on a truck mounted unit, disconnect the battery and alternator before welding.

life. Pintle chain is standard equipment with a much higher strength than 67X steel
detachable chain.

ADJUSTMENTS
FLOOR APRON CHAIN
Periodically inspect the spring tighteners on the floor apron at the rear of the box. When the spring
tighteners have pushed the rear apron shaft to the rear of the tightener slot, the chain adjustment is
completely used up. The apron chain must be shortened. This is easily done by loosening the spring
tighteners and removing a coupler link on each side of the floor apron. Re-tighten spring tighteners so
springs are compressed to 3-3/4” to 4”.
DISCHARGE CONVEYOR CHAIN
Lower 4’feeder extension down to the lowest position. Place a 1-1/2” tall block under a
crossbar 2’ back from the outer end of the 4’ feeder extension. Tighten conveyor chain so that
crossbar is snug on the block but can still be removed by hand from under the crossbar.
Make sure conveyor chain is equal tightness on both sides by sliding block under the
crossbar close to each side chain. Be sure and remove block before operating hay feeder.
If shaft has reached the back of the slot then loosen chain on both sides and remove a link
from each side. Reconnect chains and tighten according to paragraph above.
AXLE SETTING
The axle is set at the factory for proper weight distribution on the hitch and axle and no further
adjustment should be necessary. All loading should always start at the front of the
mixer/feeder and work towards the back.
TIGHTEN 10-BOLT WHEELS TO 250-280 FOOT POUNDS TORQUE.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN WHEEL BOLTS. To do so can crush the raised disc around the bolt
hole, destroying the locking principle built into the wheel for the wheel bolt.
KEEP TIRES PROPERLY INFLATED. An under inflated tire will allow the tire cords to
continually be flexing and chafing the tube with resulting tire failure.
On tires shipped from the factory, the tires are not fully inflated. Inflate tires to proper
inflation before using. Check tire pressure regularly.
WHEEL BEARINGS
Securely block up frame so that the wheel turns freely. To tighten the wheel bearing, first
remove the hub cap. Remove cotter pin from the slotted nut until there is a slight drag on the
bearing while turning the wheel. Then back off the slotted nut to the nearest slot and insert
and spread cotter pin. There should remain a slight drag on the bearing following the
adjustment. Replace hub cap.

LUBRICATION
CAUTION –DO NOT CLEAN, LUBRICATE, OR ADJUST YOUR SCHULER
MIXER/FEEDER WHILE IT IS RUNNING. SHUT OFF TRACTOR ENGINE AND
PLACE KEY IN POCKET,
Use a good quality water resistant lithium soap bearing grease. Proper lubrication is the best
insurance against delays and repairs and greatly increases the life of the machine.
The Schuler Mixer/Feeder is designed to require a minimum amount of lubrication, with precision,
triple lip, sealed bearings widely used. However, the points that are to be lubricated should be
serviced regularly, at the intervals listed. DO NOT OVER GREASE.
Keep your supply of lubricating oil and grease stored in clean containers and covered to protect from
dust and dirt. Always use a good quality water resistant lithium soap bearing grease.
Keep lubricating gun nozzle clean and wipe dirt from grease fittings before lubricating.
LUBRICATION GUIDE
ROLLER CHAINS
Lubricate roller chains periodically with a #90 gear lube (for excellent cling) or a high quality
professional chain lubricant.
ROLLER CHAIN TIGHTENER
Lubricate 1 pump of grease every 25 hours.
FLOOR APRON DRIVE
Lubricate 1 pump of grease every 25 hours.
FLOOR APRON IDLER
Lubricate 1 pump of grease every 25 hours.
WHEELS
Repack wheel bearings once a year or every 1000 hours of operation
BEATER DRIVE AND IDLER
Lubricate 1 pump of grease every 50 hours.
CROSS CONVEYOR DRIVE AND IDLER
Lubricate 1 pump of grease every 50 hours.
JACK SHAFT BEARINGS
