mInitial Computer Set Up
Begin byinstallingthe batteries intothe back of the console. The display will
show "AD4" (or "ADEV"for the EVOCompmodel) and "SETMILES.... KM"
This console can read either Englishunits (PoundsMiles, and Miles per Hour)
or Metric (Kilograms,Kilometers, and Kilometers per Hour.) Usethe %" and "-"
buttons to select either (MILES)(forEnglishunits) or "KM" (forMetric units.)
Pressthe ENTERbutton to confirm your choice.
Note: You can return to this screen by pressing and holding down the RESET
and ENTERbuttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
Next, the display will ask youto select "Horn" (forHome use)or "CLUb" (forClub
or Studio use.)

The intentfor Homeuse isthat the default values for User Weight andTime for
each exercise are basedon the values entered during the last exercise.
Usingthe Homesetting, means that the user will avoid havingto set his or her
Weight, and Exercisetime eachtime they exercise.
The Clubsetting setsthe default values for User Weight andTime to 150pounds
and 20:00minutes. This meansthat eachtime you start an exercise, you will be
asked to adjust the Time up or down from 20:00,andto adjust your Weight up or
down from 150pounds(or70 kg inMetric Mode.)
Thefollowing steps completethe InitialComputerSet Up,for Homemode. For
Clubmode, see heading below- initial Computer SetUpfor ClubMode.
Onceyou have selected "HOM mode", the display will askyou to set the
ELEVATION(yourelevation abovesea level.) This "calibrates" the console so
that itwill read more accurately the informationregarding WATTS, METS,and
CALORIESper HOUR.Again, usethe %" "-" and "ENTER"buttons to select and
confirm.
The display will ask youto "ENTERWEIGHT" Enteryour current weight using
the %.... -" and ENTERbuttons. This weight isusedto calculate Calories per
hour and Mets more accurately ifyou choose the Quick Start Modefor exercis-
ing. See more on Quick Start below. This completes the initial ComputerSetUp.
