AvoidingHearingDamage
Permanenthearinglossmayoccurifthe receiver,earbuds,headphones,
speakerphone, orearpiecesareusedathigh volume.Set thevolume toa
safelevel.Youcanadaptover timetoahighervolumeofsoundthatmay

EmergencyCalls
You shouldnotrelyonwireless devicesforessentialcommunications,
suchasmedicalemergencies.UseofSciPhone tocallemergency
servicesmaynotworkinalllocations.Emergencynumbersandservices
varybyregion,andsometimesanemergency call cannotbeplaceddueto
networkavailabilityorenvironmentalinterference.Somecellularnetworks
maynotacceptan emergency call from SciPhoneif itdoesnothaveaSIM,
theSIMisPIN-locked,or ifyouhavenot activated your SciPhone.
DrivingSafely
UseofSciPhonealoneorwithheadphones(even ifusedonlyinoneear)
whiledriving avehicleorriding abicycleisnotrecommendedandisillegal

lAssess thetrafficbeforedialing,orplacecallswhen youare not
movingorbeforepullingintotraffic.Trytoplancallswhen yourcar will

Glass Parts
The outsidecoveroftheSciPhonescreenismade ofglass.Thisglass
couldbreakifSciPhone isdropped on ahardsurfaceor receivesa
substantialimpact. Ifthe glasschipsorcracks,donottouchorattemptto
removethe broken glass. Stop using SciPhoneuntilthe glass

ChokingHazards

RepetitiveMotion

SciPhone isdesigned and manufactured not toexceedlimitsfor exposure
toRFenergysetbytheFederalCommunicationsCommission(FCC)of
theUnited Statesand therecommendationsoftheCouncilofthe
EuropeanUnion.The exposurestandard employs aunitofmeasurement
knownasthe specificabsorptionrate,orSAR.The SARlimit applicableto
SciPhone setbytheFCCis1.6wattsperkilogram(W/kg).TheSARlimit
applicabletoSciPhone setbytheCouncilofthe European Union is2.0
W/kg.TestsforSARareconductedusingstandard operatingpositions

SciPhone.Ifyou areconcernedaboutscratching SciPhone,youcanuse
oneofthe manycasessoldseparately.
UsingConnectorsandPorts
Neverforceaconnector intoaport.Check forobstructionson the port.If
theconnectorandportdontjoinwithreasonableease,theyprobably
dontmatch.Makesurethat the connector matchestheportand thatyou
havepositionedtheconnector correctlyinrelationtotheport.
KeepingSciPhoneWithinAcceptableTemperatures
OperateSciPhone inaplacewhere thetemperature isalways between 0º
and35ºC(32ºto95ºF).Batterylifemighttemporarilyshorten in
low-temperature conditions.Store SciPhone inaplacewhere the
temperatureisalwaysbetween -20ºand45ºC(-4ºto113ºF).Dont leave
