(cable/DSL).Youcanchoosebetweenawired connection (Ethernet)anda
wirelessconnection (Wi-Fi).

unit directlytothemodem.

illustrated.Shouldyou haveproblemswiththe
Internetconnection setup,contactyournetworking
devicesupplierand/or Internetserviceprovider.
Note:Theunitshouldworkanywhere withinarange
of atleast15metresaround the wireless accesspoint.
However,theconnectionwill dependonyourrouter
performanceand environmentalfactorssuchasthe
number/ thicknessofthe walls, doorsor windows.
Configurations
•IfyourwirelessnetworkisprotectedbyWiredEquivalentPrivacy(WEP)orWi-
FiProtectedAccess(WPA)dataencryption,you need toknowthe WEP or
WPAcodeinorder toconnecttheunittothenetwork.
•Ifyour wirelessnetworkisconfigured toaccepttrusted
stationsonly,you needtoentertheunitMACaddress into
yourwirelessaccesspoint.TheunitMACaddress canbe
locatedbybrowsingthrough themenu:Mainmenu à
Settings àSystem àConnection àStatus àConfiguration.
•Toenter theunitMACaddressintoyourwireless accesspoint,you mustread
the instructionssuppliedwiththewireless access point.

Connectingthepowersupply
Insertthe AC/DC adapter plugintoan ACmainsoutletwitha230VAC~50Hz
powersource,and theotherendtothe DC IN12V jack attheback oftheunit.
Connectinganexternal audiodevice(e.g.MP3player)
Connecttheline outorheadphonesjack onanexternalaudiodevice(suchasa
MP3player)tothe unit’s AUX IN jackwiththe AUXINcable(supplied).
Connectingheadphones
Plug theheadphones(notsupplied)intotheunit’sheadphonesjackfor private
listening.The speaker output willbeshut offautomatically.
INSTALLINGBATTERIES
Installingtheremotecontrolbattery
1.Removethebatterycompartmentcoveron thebottomoftheremotecontrol,
bypressing thelefttabtotheright whilstremoving the cover.
2.Inserta3Vlithiumbattery(CR2025or equivalent)withpolarity(+)matching
the markonthebottomoftheremotecontrol.
3.Replacethebatterycompartmentcover.
Note:The remotecontrolbatterynormallylastsforaboutone year,althoughit
dependsonhowoftenand forwhatoperationstheremotecontrolisused.
If the remotecontrolfailstoworkeven whenitisoperatednearthe unit,
replacethebattery.
Installtimebackupbatteries
Timebackup
The clocktimecanbemaintained duringapower failurebyusing 2xAAA/ LR03
batteries(notsupplied).Duringapowerinterruption,the timemaygoforwardor
backslightlyand mayrequire resetting.
Batteryinsertion
1.Removethebatterycover onthe backofthe unitbypressingonthebattery
cover catchwhilstremovingit.
2.Insert2xAAA/LR03 batteries(alkalinebatteriesarerecommended) intothe
batterycompartment,followingthecorrectpolaritiesmarkedinsidethebattery
compartment.
3. Replacethebatterycover.
Note:For optimumperformance,thebatteriesshouldbereplacedevery6
months
Precautionswhenusingbatteries
1. CAUTION: Dangerofexplosionifbatteryisincorrectlyreplaced.Replaceonly
withthe sameorequivalenttypeofbattery.
2.Ensure you followthe correctpolaritieswheninstallingthe batteries(see
marksinthebatterycompartment).Reversed batteriesmaydamagethe
remotecontrol.
3. Exhausted batteriesmust beremovedastheymayleak.
4. Disposeofbatteriesproperlyaccording toenvironmentalregulations.

BASICOPERATIONS
ON/STANDBY mode
Afterconnecting thepower supply(refertoprevioussection - CONNECTIONS),
pressthe( ) ON/STANDBY buttontoturnonthe unit orgotostandbymode.
Navigation andnumber/characterentry
Using thebuttonsontheunit
Turn the SCROLL/SELECT/SNOOZE knob toscrollthrough
the menu andpressittoenter thehighlighteditem.You can
pressthe BACK buttontoreturntopreviousmenu.Pressand
holdthe BACK button toreturntothemainmenu. When
entering numbers,e.g.atime,turn the SCROLL/SELECT/SNOOZE knobto
adjustandpress ittoconfirm.When enteringcharacters,such
asaWEP/WPAkeyduring theWi-Ficonnectionset-up,turn
the SCROLL/SELECT/SNOOZE knobtoadjustthenumber/
characterandpressittoconfirm.Usethe P2/ , P4/ buttons
tomovetothe previousor nextnumber/character.Press and
holddownthe SCROLL/SELECT/SNOOZE knob (or pressthe button) to
completeandconfirmthe entry.
Using theremote control
Thisissimilar tousingthe unitexceptthatyouwillneed tousetheUP or
DOWN buttontoscrollthrough the menu and adjusttheitem.Tocomplete
andconfirmthe entry,pressthe button asthe “pressand hold”button
operation doesnot workontheremotecontrol.
Inthemainmenu,youcan choose: “FMRadio”, “InternetRadio”, “USB/SD/MMC”,
“AuxIn”and “Settings”.

Set theclock
1. Select Settings àTime.Theclock timeisdisplayed.
2.Turnthe SCROLL/SELECT/SNOOZE knob toadjustthe
hourandpress it toconfirm.
3. Repeatthestep(2)toadjustthe minutes.
Set thealarm time
1. Select Settings àAlarm àset/enable. The alarmtimewillbedisplayed.
2. Followthe steps(2) to(3)in “Settheclock”tosetthealarmtime.
Theunitallowsyoutochoosethe sound towhichyou wouldliketowakeup.
1.Toenablethealarm function,select “Settings”à”Alarm”à
“set/enable”and ifnecessary,setthealarmtime.Pressthe
SELECT buttontoconfirm.
2. Toselectthealarmsource,choose “selectsource”: “FM
preset”, “FMtune”(manualtuning toalocalFMradiostation), “Internetradio”,
“USB/SD/MMC”and “buzzer”.
3.Whenthepresetalarmtimeisreached,theunitwillswitchon withthe selected
alarmsource.
4.Press the button tostopthealarmand itwillsound againthe nextdayat
the sametime.
5. Todisablethe alarmcompletely,select “Settings”à”Alarm”à“disable”.
Note:Thedefaultalarmsourceisthe buzzer.Whenanothersourceisselected
butisnotavailableatthealarmtime,itwillautomaticallyswitchtothe
buzzer alarm.
The buzzervolumelevelisfixed.Howeverthesoundlevelcan beadjusted
forthe other sourcesusing the VOL+/- button.
SNOOZEfunction
Whenthe alarmsounds,pressthe SCROLL/SELECT/SNOOZE knobtostopthe
alarmanditwillsound againafter 8minutes.Thisalarmcyclewillrepeatfor up
toonehour.Tocancel SNOOZE function and repeatthealarmthe nextday,
pressthe button.

FM RADIOOPERATION
Thismodeallowsyou tolisten tolocalFMradiostations.
ListentoFMradio
1. Press the ON/STANDBY ()button toturn on theunit.
2. Select FMRadio àTune.
3.Tosearchautomatically,turn the SCROLL/SELECT
/SNOOZE knobonthe unit(or the UP or DOWN
button on the remotecontrol)and releasetotunetoa
station.
4.Tosearchmanually,pressthe SCROLL/SELECT/SNOOZE knoboncetogo
tomanualsearchmodeandthen turnittosearchfor astation. Pressitagain
toreturn tothe autosearchmode.
Achieveoptimumreception
Whenlistening toaFMradiostation,extendand positiontheFMantennato
achieveoptimumreception.
Preset FMradiostations
Youcanstore uptofivepresetstationsfor FMradio.
1.Tunethe radiotoadesiredstation,thenpressandhold
downthepresetbuttons P1 to P5 ontheunit tostore the
station.
2. Repeat step (1)tostoreanyother desiredstations.
Note:Thepressandholdbuttonoperation doesnotworkontheremotecontrol.

Dependingon yourInternetconnection type,select “DHCP”or “STATICIP”to
enabletheunittoconnecttothe Internet.In “DHCP”mode,anIPaddressis
automaticallyassigned tothe unit.In “STATICIP”mode,you mustcheckwith

1. Usearouter(notsupplied) toconnectthe wireless accesspoint (Wi-Fi)tothe

3. Select thenetworkandpressthe SELECT button toconfirm.
4. Select thecorrectencryptionsecuritysystem:Open network,
WEP keyor WPA.
5. Open network:Select “DHCP”or “STATICIP”.
WEP key:EntertheWEPcode.
WPAkey:EntertheWPAcode.
Note:Afterenteringthe WEPorWPAkey,youneedtoselect DHCP”or
STATICIP”.
Turnthe SCROLL/SELECT/SNOOZE knob toadjustthe number/
characterand press ittoconfirm.Thenusethe P2/ and P4/ buttonto
movetothepreviousor nextnumber/character.Pressand holddownthe
SCROLL/SELECT/SNOOZE knob(orpressthe buttonon theremote
control)tocompleteandconfirmtheentry.
For boththewired(Ethernet)and Wi-Ficonnection,themessage “Connection
successful”willbe displayed toconfirmthatthe internetisconnected.If thisisnot
the case, “Connectionfailed”willbedisplayed.Youshouldtryabovestepsagain
toentercorrectIP data,WEPor WPA keyandalsomakesure thatthewiredor
wirelessnetworksare availableandworking.

4.Toremovethe bookmarkforastation,press the /button.Exitthe
“Favorites”and re-enter it tocheck that thestationisnot inthe “Favorites”list.

built-inpower supplyshouldbefavored.

AUX INFUNCTION
An AUXIN jack isprovidedwiththecabletoconnectyourexternalaudiodevice,
suchasaMP3player, inorder tolistentothe musicthroughthisunit.
1.PlugtheAUXINcable(supplied)intothe AUXINjack.Refer
tothe “CONNECTIONS”section.
2. Inthe mainmenu,select “AuxIN”.
3. Operateyour externalaudiodeviceasusualtoselectandplaythemusic.
4.Adjustthevolumecontrolsonbothyour externalaudiodeviceand thisunitto
the desired volumelevel.
Note:InAUXINmode,thisunitdisplaycannotshowanymusicinformation (e.g.
track no.)for your externalaudiodevice.

cardforprivateusageonly, orrecord an audiofilereadbyan appliance
