You have opted for outstanding quality – a quality that results from the carefully selected
components and the use of cutting-edge technologies in the frame and throughout the rest of
the scooter.
On the following pages, we explain the technical features of your SCROOSER. You can find
all the tips and tricks you need for care and maintenance, plus important personal safety
instructions to protect you from accidents and prevent damage to your SCROOSER.
SCROOSER is a lifestyle for pioneers. The SCROOSER is a perfectly streamlined solution to all
your modern urban transport needs.
No fussy details, no rough edges: the SCROOSER is incredibly easy to use and enables
individual riding styles for true explorers.
Its smart technology, including the revolutionary impulse drive, protects people and planet
while remaining hidden from view. The elegant design complements both the SCROOSER’s
rider and the surroundings it passes through.
Every SCROOSER is made by hand to the highest quality standards and individually configured.
You couldn’t ask for more from the future. But you wouldn’t expect any less either.
In short: your SCROOSER is the modern, environmentally friendly way of getting around over
short distances.
To ensure it stays that way, please follow the care and handling instructions in this manual.
Please read this manual carefully, because if you do not adhere to these instructions we cannot
assume liability and you will not be covered under warranty! In cases of doubt, please always
contact a specialist or our service centre with any problems or questions!
The component manufacturers’ instructions that come with the SCROOSER (depending on the
model) form part of this user manual.

SCROOSER-PASS
When vehicles are stolen, they are often recovered by the police. The SCROOSER pass allows
your SCROOSER to be uniquely identified, making it more likely you will get it back. The
SCROOSER pass is also helpful when reporting the theft to your insurance company. Please fill
in the SCROOSER pass as soon as possible and keep it in a safe place.
The 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) can be found on the SCROOSER and on the
certificate of conformity. The model description, model name and service information can be
found in the documentation supplied with the SCROOSER and in this user manual.

1 GENERAL INFORMATION
In combination with the model plate (located under the seat), the vehicle identification number
(VIN) allows the SCROOSER to be uniquely identified. This number can also be found in the
individual vehicle approval (or the “Einzelabnahme”) supplied with the SCROOSER.
The SCROOSER fulfils Directive 2002/24/EC (individual vehicle approval or the
“Einzelabnahme”)* and hence also Directive 97/24/EC, chapter 8, appendices I to III with
regard to electromagnetic compatibility.
SCROOSER warrants that the products are free from material defects or defects in title
according to the statutory provisions. The warranty period for products and goods that are sold
and delivered to customers who are not consumers within the meaning of Sec. 13 German Civil
Code (“BGB”) is, in deviation thereof, limited to one year from delivery of the purchased good.
SCROOSER provides a battery life guarantee (at least 70% of nominal capacity up to a
maximum of 500 charging cycles). The warranty period is limited to six months from the
delivery of the purchased good in accordance with the guarantee provisions in Section 1.4.
This example number is the VIN of the first in the SCROOSER range of vehicles.

All SCROOSER guarantee services are subject to the following guarantee conditions:
- The guarantee granted by SCROOSER does not include labor or transport costs for the conver-
sion. The guarantee is limited to the replacement or the repair of the defective component.
- If a guarantee service is used, this does not result in an extension or a new start of the guaran-
tee period.
- If a component of the same type, size or color is no longer available, SCROOSER is entitled to
use a part that can be considered as a successor to settle the guarantee claim.
- Guarantee services provided by SCROOSER are excluded in the following cases:
- In the case of accidents or consequential damages resulting from accidents, crashes or
other improper handling of the products.
- In case of repairs or repair attempts on the affected component by third parties who are not
authorized by SCROOSER.
- In case of failure to follow instructions for use, improperly mandatory maintenance, impro-
per usage, or excessive overuse of the product.
- In case of removal or making the FIN / VIN unreadable, as well as changes to the original
construction (such as „tuning“) of the SCROOSER product.

2 SAFETY
You must carefully read through the user manual before using the SCROOSER for the first time.
Pay particular attention to the safety instructions. This will help you to familiarise yourself with
your SCROOSER more quickly and to avoid operating errors that could result in accidents or
damage.
Your SCROOSER has been supplied assembled and ready to use. However, before first use you
will need to configure/adjust the SCROOSER as described in the “Getting started” section and
to check that all parts are firmly secured: in particular, the handlebars, lights, saddle and wheel
assemblies.
In this user manual, safety notices and warnings are marked as follows.

Prior to using the scooter, you must carefully read this user manual. You must observe all
instructions given here on how to use the scooter correctly, be in possession of any licence that
is legally required to operate the scooter in the country of use and be aware of and adhere to
the conditions under which the scooter may be used.
The scooter must be left in the same technical condition as supplied by the manufacturer. The
manufacturer cannot accept any liability for damage caused by failure to adhere to applicable
instructions and provisions, by the installation of third-party replacement parts or accessories,
or by repairs that are carried out incorrectly. Unauthorised alterations or the installation of third-
party replacement parts and accessories may invalidate the type approval.
The electronics box (charging and control system) may only be opened up by the manufacturer
of the box.
Only individuals who fulfil the necessary requirements are allowed to ride the SCROOSER.
These requirements are governed by country-specific provisions.
Observe all regional laws and provisions, especially with respect to compulsory insurance.
Please familiarise yourself with country-specific traffic regulations and observe them while
riding the SCROOSER.
Do not carry out any alterations to the SCROOSER other than installing genuine SCROOSER
accessories. Removing original parts and installing replacement parts that are not authorised
by the manufacturer can make the scooter unsafe and result in risk to life and limb as well as
invalidating the type approval.
The SCROOSER’s design allows it to be ridden safely from a sitting position.
Always hold onto the handlebars firmly with both hands while riding the SCROOSER.
Keep out of the blind spots of other road users. Signal your intention well ahead of time before
turning or changing lanes.
Only use lanes that are designated for small motorcycles.
Only one person at a time may ride the SCROOSER; never ride with two or more people.
Do not transport heavy loads on the SCROOSER. You can lose control and sustain an injury.
Avoid riding over obstacles such as kerbs. If they cannot be avoided, ride over them slowly and
carefully.
Always ride your SCROOSER with care and at a speed where you are able to control it. It
is not suitable for racing and jumps. Be cautious and anticipate what is ahead. Be mindful
of passengers and animals whose paths you are crossing. Be polite and considerate when
“scroosing”.
Always use the lights when riding at night or in conditions with low visibility. Only ride during
suitable weather conditions. Do not ride the SCROOSER when there is hard-packed snow or
black ice. Wet or slippery roads increase braking distances and the risk of accidents.
Avoid riding your SCROOSER in heavy rain or through puddles.
Do not be reckless when riding the SCROOSER. The SCROOSER is categorised as a small
motorcycle and you can get hurt if you fall off.
Always use the lights when riding at night or in conditions with low visibility. Only ride during
suitable weather conditions. Do not ride the SCROOSER when there is hard-packed snow or
black ice. Wet or slippery roads increase braking distances and the risk of accidents.
Avoid riding your SCROOSER in heavy rain or through puddles.
The tires have a groove profile, and so you should be careful when riding on wet, sandy or other
slippery surfaces.

On a level surface, the SCROOSER’s broad tires automatically keep it balanced. However,
the SCROOSER can fall over as a result of strong winds or carelessness or when parked on
sloped, uneven or soft surfaces. This can cause injuries to people and animals or damage the
SCROOSER. For this reason, always use the centre stand to park your SCROOSER safely.
In order to avoid accidents, ensure you are clearly visible when riding the SCROOSER: wear
bright or reflective clothing.
Always wear suitable clothing when riding. Ideally, you should also wear a helmet to prevent
injuries. Make sure that you are legally obliged to wear a helmet. For Helmet regulations in

helmet_en.htm OR the Article 8(1) of Directive (EU) 2015/413/EU available at https://eur-lex.

check with your local authorities for the most up to date regulations on helmets).
The wearing of protective clothing is governed by country-specific provisions.
Do not use the charger in extremely dusty or humid conditions.
Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight (risk of overheating!).
Make sure the charger is adequately ventilated when in use.
Unplug the charger from the mains when it is not in use.
If the charger is broken, do not use it under any circumstances. If you are not completely sure or
have any questions, contact the retailer you purchased your SCROOSER from or get in touch
with the manufacturer directly.
You can find further instructions on the label on the charger (please follow these instructions!).
The charger is only intended for indoor use and must only be connected to a 220–240 V/50 Hz
or 110V power supply.
Only chargers specifically designed to be used with the SCROOSER may be used.
Do not charge any other electronic appliances using the charger supplied with your SCROOSER.
Do not open up the charger under any circumstances.
Never touch the charger or connector with wet hands.
Do not use the charger during thunderstorms.
The charger and battery are not toys and must be kept away from children.
Keep the battery and charger away from children.
Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight (risk of overheating!).
If the battery is broken, do not use it under any circumstances. If you are not completely sure or
have any questions, contact the retailer you purchased your SCROOSER from or get in touch
with the manufacturer directly.
If you leave your SCROOSER outside after removing the battery to charge, you must protect the
connections from rain, water, moisture and dirt using a weatherproof cover while the battery is
charging.
The SCROOSER battery is fitted with a battery management system (BMS). The BMS prevents
the battery from overcharging or becoming fully depleted. However, you should still check
yourself to ensure that the battery does not become fully depleted. If it is necessary to replace
a battery or charger, only use genuine replacement parts. If you use other replacement parts
or an unsuitable accessory part, there is an increased risk of damage or malfunctions, and all
claims under warranty will be invalidated.
Never open up or carry out repairs on the battery. If the battery casing becomes damaged,
STOP USING THE BATTERY AND REPLACE IT. There is a risk of fire (as a result of short
circuits) or explosions. Opening or tampering with the electrical or mechanical components of
the drive or battery invalidates the warranty.

The SCROOSER is intended to be used by a person sitting on the saddle with a maximum load
of 110 kg on roads.
Please ensure that you have purchased a street-legal version, which will be supplied with an
individual vehicle approval. Other versions may not be ridden on public roads.
Individuals who were born after 1 April 1965 need a Kleinkraftrad-Führerschein (minimum age
15) or other valid driver’s licence. Individuals who were born before 1 April 1965 do not need
a driver’s licence but must be aware of traffic regulations for public roads. Small motorcycle
insurance is also required for use on public roads.
In accordance with the sixth exemption to the German Road Traffic Act (StVO), dated 24 March
1994 (maximum speed 20 km/h), there is no legal obligation to wear a safety helmet or special
protective clothing. However, in the interests of your own safety you should carefully consider
what precautions to take. Please check which insurance cover is required for the version of the
SCROOSER that you have purchased. When operating the SCROOSER on public roads, it is
generally necessary to take out insurance.

4 GETTING STARTED
Your SCROOSER has been supplied ready to use and ride. The battery is precharged. However,
depending on the duration of the transportation period, it may have gone into sleep mode, so it
must be charged before using the SCROOSER. Wake the battery up by pressing the membrane
button on the battery.
You will find the following items in the packaging supplied with the SCROOSER:
- Charger
- Start key (TAG)
- Two keys to open and close the horizontal and vertical footboards and the seat
The packaging materials are a suffocation hazard!
The packaging materials can be a suffocation hazard for children and animals. Please store the
packaging materials in a safe place.
How to unpack the SCROOSER:
1. Firstly, remove the transport locks.
2. Take off the lid of the packaging and remove the cardboard stiffeners from the handlebars
and seat.
3. Remove the outer packaging.
4. Lift the SCROOSER from the wheel recesses in the packaging, starting at the back (to the
left) and then at the front.
The packaging is made of recyclable material and can be disposed of in designated cardboard
recycling bins or in household waste. However, we recommend that you retain the packaging
and store it in a dry place in case you need it to transport the SCROOSER.

For security reasons the rear-view mirror is demounted during transport and enclosed.
How to mount and adjust the rear-view mirror:
1. Screw the bolt with the blue colored thread in the lower part of the mirror and tighten with an
Allen wrench. Thread black nut onto the bolt.
2. Mount and screw the mirror onto the clamp attached to the handlebar.
3. With a wrench tighten the black counter nut to adjust the mirror arm.
4. Use ball joint to adjust the mirror according to your desired driving position.
How to adjust the handlebars:
1. Loosen the four screws on the handlebar clamp and adjust the handlebars as required.
2.After adjusting the handlebars, carefully tighten the four screws again. To achieve the
required clamp tension between the handlebars and the handlebar clamp, the screws
must be tightened to a torque of 15 Nm.
Caution: failure to tighten screws to the specified torque can result in damage to the handlebar
components (risk of accidents!).
How to check that the brakes are working:
1. Engage the front and rear brakes, and check that both the front and rear brake lights light up
when you do so.
2.If the brakes do not work at all or are defective, contact a specialist (see “Service partners”).

5 START
Your SCROOSER comes with an ignition key known
as a TAG. It is used to turn the scooter on. No other
TAG can be used to activate your SCROOSER. It is
possible to order a new TAG from the manufacturer.
The SCROOSER comes with two other keys that can
be used to open and close the vertical and horizontal
footboard and the saddle.
How to turn the SCROOSER on:
1. To turn your new SCROOSER on, press the right-hand button on the display.
The intro will appear on the display. It ends with the greeting “HI”.
2. Hold the TAG up against the SCROOSER logo on the front of the saddle.
The headlight and tail light will flash, the battery charge display LEDs on the display will light up and
riding mode H for HAND will be displayed. Your SCROOSER is now ready to go.

6 CONTROLS
The SCROOSER is fitted with an LED headlight and an LED tail light (including brake light and
number plate light). When you turn on the scooter, all lights are automatically activated. The legally
required reflectors are located on the rear of the seat and on the side of the frame.

Trip counter and odometer
The SCROOSER has a trip counter and an odometer.
After turning the SCROOSER on, the trip counter can be opened by a short press of the ON/OFF
button. After a few seconds or when you activate the throttle grip/impulse drive, the display will
disappear. The trip counter is reset every time you turn the scooter off and back on again.
After turning the SCROOSER on, the odometer can be opened by holding the TAG up against the
SCROOSER logo on the front of the saddle. After a few seconds or when you activate the throttle
grip/impulse drive, the display will disappear.

7 RIDING
The scooter can be accelerated using the throttle grip or impulse drive. The SCROOSER is fitted with
a powerful 500 W electric motor, so always ride with care. After turning the SCROOSER on (figure
8), slowly twist the throttle grip (located on the right-hand side) downwards. The SCROOSER will
start to move.
Engaging the brakes cuts out the motor.
By law, using the impulse drive in S, C and E modes is not allowed. You must remain seated while
riding your Scrooser if the impulse drive is engaged. Please check your local laws to ensure you
are following proper riding procedures. In the H mode, the impulse drive is deactivated. Standing
while riding your SCROOSER on public roads is not permitted. Please always consult your local
authorities for clarification.
Caution: the impulse drive may be inadvertently activated on descents or uneven roads, causing the
SCROOSER to accelerate. To stop the impulse drive, simply activate the brakes at any time. You can
also switch to H mode to avoid it. In H mode, the impulse drive is deactivated.
When riding the SCROOSER with the impulse drive, the electronic control detects when the rider
pushes with their foot to accelerate (physical impulse, from 4 km/h) and adds an extra boost.
The SCROOSER’s electronic control is fitted with overload protection. If you ascend on inclines with
a gradient over 5% from a standing start without pushing with your foot, the overload protection
may turn off the motor. If that happens, you need to restart the SCROOSER in the usual way.
During prolonged ascents, the control unit may become very warm. If that happens, the power
will automatically be reduced by approx. 30 percent. After the control unit has cooled down, the
full power will be available once again. During prolonged descents, the control unit may turn
off completely to prevent it from becoming damaged. If that happens, you need to restart the
SCROOSER in the usual way.
How far and how long you will be able to ride using the impulse drive depends on several
factors:
- Road profile
- Road surface
- Weight of rider and load
- Amount of acceleration provided by rider
- Riding mode
In order to extend the range of the SCROOSER, we recommend using the COMFORT or ECO mode
for descents or level surfaces, and only activating SPORT mode when there is a headwind, when
you want/need to accelerate faster and/or for ascents.
You can also increase the range by regularly checking and if necessary adjusting the tire pressure
(0.9 bar) using a manometer. Switch to COMFORT mode in good time before traffic lights, junctions
or stops in general. Ride smoothly and anticipate what is ahead in order to avoid unnecessary stops.
Minimise your load and do not carry unnecessary items.

The SCROOSER has four riding modes (figure 8): HAND, SPORT, COMFORT, ECO.
The riding modes have different levels of responsiveness and correspondingly different ranges.
HAND – allows you to ride your SCROOSER comfortably in urban conditions
SPORT – the most dynamic way to ride your SCROOSER using Impulse Drive
COMFORT – a perfect compromise between high speed and long range
ECO – optimum efficiency for maximum range (speed reduced by approx. 15%)
The modes can be selected using the left-hand button (SELECT) on the handlebar display. When
you turn the scooter on, it is set to HAND mode. Keep pressing the left-hand button to cycle through
the other modes. After you turn the scooter off, it will reset to HAND mode next time you turn it on.
The display shows: H for HAND, S for SPORT, C for COMFORT, E for ECO.

The impulse drive has three levels:
First level: the rider gently pushes with their foot. The scooter accelerates to approx. 7 km/h.
Second level: while the first level is active, the rider pushes again with their foot. The scooter
accelerates to approx. 11 km/h.
Third level: while the second level is active, the rider pushes again with their foot. The scooter
accelerates to approx. 25 km/h (to 22 km/h in ECO mode).

8 PARKING
When parking the SCROOSER for longer periods, we recommend using the centre stand. To use the
centre stand, fold it down using your foot and then pull the SCROOSER backwards over the dead
centre of the stand to bring it into parking position.
The centre stand can be damaged by excessive loads!
The SCROOSER must not be loaded when in parking position, as the centre stand cannot take
any additional weight.
Caution

Do not sit or stand on the SCROOSER when it is in parking position.
In low temperatures, especially when there is frost, store your battery in your home or office
and only put it back in your SCROOSER just before you set off. When possible, do not park your
SCROOSER in direct sunlight.
If you follow these instructions, you can reach a range of around 45 km in ECO mode, around 35
km in COMFORT mode and around 25 km in SPORT mode.

9 TRANSPORTING
If the SCROOSER is transported incorrectly, this can result in damage to the
SCROOSER or the vehicle it is being transported in!
The SCROOSER must be firmly secured during transport in order to prevent damage to the
SCROOSER or the vehicle it is being transported in.
How to prepare the SCROOSER for transport:
1. Turn off the SCROOSER prior to transport. The handlebars can be folded down during transport.
To do so, loosen the four screws on the handlebar clamp. Then fold the handlebars down. For
safety reasons, we recommend slightly tightening all the screws again afterwards. Use suitable
securing devices, such as bungee cords, to secure the SCROOSER in the vehicle during transport.

Prepare the SCROOSER correctly prior to transporting it.
Since the SCROOSER cannot be folded up, it is recommended that you only transport it in
suitable vehicles (estate cars, SUVs, vans, etc.).
10 PROTECTION AGAINST THEFT
Your SCROOSER comes with two security systems as standard.
Start key (TAG) to activate your SCROOSER
Anti-theft protection while in use
Your SCROOSER can only be turned on using the electronic start key (TAG) that is supplied with it.
There is no other way to activate your SCROOSER. This means it is not possible for other people
to turn on your SCROOSER and ride it.
The SCROOSER also has anti-theft protection that can be activated while it is on. Engage the front
brake using the brake lever on the handlebars. Then turn off the scooter using the button on the
display while keeping the brake engaged. This will lock the rear wheel for four hours. If anyone
attempts to move the SCROOSER while it is in this state, the headlight and tail light will flash for
one minute, and the back wheel will remain locked until you use your TAG.

11 BATTERY
The SCROOSER has a lithium-ion battery. After 500 charging cycles, it will still have a capacity of
70-80 percent. At an average level of use, this is equivalent to a service life of five years. After that,
the battery capacity and range of your SCROOSER will decrease. At that point, you should replace
the battery.
The current battery charge can be viewed by pressing the membrane button on the battery. When
the battery is fully charged (battery charge: 100%), all five LEDs will be lit up.

In comparison with other types of battery, lithium-ion batteries have very low self-discharge.
Nonetheless, their capacity still decreases over time, so even if the battery is fully charged you
should recharge it at least every three months if it is not in use. In order to extend the battery’s
service life, we recommend charging it after each use. Lithium-ion batteries do not suffer from
memory effect.
There are three steps required to charge the battery:
1. Remove the depleted battery from the SCROOSER.
2. Recharge the battery (only use the charger supplied with the SCROOSER).
3. Put the recharged battery back in the SCROOSER.
How to remove the battery:
The battery is located under the footboard, which
has a lock to prevent unauthorised use/removal
of the battery.

3. Remove the battery.
You can now charge the battery in an ordinary household plug socket (220/230 V) using the charger
supplied with the SCROOSER.
Charge the battery at an ambient temperature of approx. 20°C. Avoid charging the battery at
temperatures below 0°C, as otherwise it will take much longer to charge. After riding in freezing
conditions, for example, allow the battery to warm up before you start charging it.
Risk of death by electrocution!
The charger and connector are connected to the mains while charging.
Using the wrong charger can damage the battery!
If you use a different charger from the one supplied, this can break the battery.
The charger may become damaged if used incorrectly!
To prevent damage to the charger, you must observe the following instructions.
Only use the charger indoors with an earthed 220–240V (or 110V) socket.
Do not use the charger during thunderstorms.
Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight (risk of overheating!).
Make sure the charger is adequately ventilated when in use.
Unplug the charger from the mains when it is not in use.
You can find further instructions on the label on the charger (please follow these instructions!).
Only use the charger supplied with the SCROOSER.

Charging the battery
Never touch the charger or connector with wet hands.
Risk of death as a result of the battery overheating, catching fire or exploding!
The battery can overheat, catch fire or explode.
Ideally, you should charge the battery during the day. You should only charge it in a dry room
fitted with a smoke or fire detector. Do not charge it in bedrooms.
While charging, place the battery on a large, flame-retardant surface made of ceramic or glass.

In order to prevent electric shocks and short circuits, make sure that the battery and
charger do not become wet or moist while the battery is charging.

How to charge the battery:
1. Connect the charger connector to the charger socket.
Caution: the connector is magnetic. Make sure you are inserting the connector the right way round.

2. Plug the charger power cable into an earthed socket.
When you have successfully connected the charger to the mains, the red LED on the charger will
light up. When the battery is fully charged, the LED will change colour from red to green. The battery
will automatically stop charging once it is full (green LED). It takes approx. three to five hours to
charge a fully depleted battery.
3. Detach the charger connector from the battery.
Caution: when detaching the charger connector, always hold the connector itself rather than the
cable.
How to put the battery back in after charging:
1. Reinsert the fully charged battery, and connect it to the Rosenberger connector.
Caution: the Rosenberger connector is magnetic. Large or small pieces of metal may get stuck to the
connector. Check that the connector is clean before connecting it to the battery:
2. Then fold the horizontal footboard back down and lock it using the key supplied with the
SCROOSER.
If you do not use the SCROOSER for a prolonged period of time, the battery will go into sleep mode.
The SCROOSER will not start while the battery is in this mode. If this happens, press the battery
charge display on your battery once so that the green LEDs light up. This will reactivate the battery.
You can also reactivate the battery by connecting the charger.
