1. DOOR PREPARATION
1. Determine required backset
2. Determine door edge bevel requirement
3. Ensure template is printed at 1:1 (or True) scale
4. Fold template according to chosen door edge requirement (Step 2)
5. Fix template to door at required latch height
6. Mark center of hole positions and drill door using sizes indicated on
template
2. LATCH INSTALLATION
1. Drill 1”(25.4mm) diameter hole on door edge as indicated on template
2. Prepare door edge to accommodate latch bolt face plate as indicated
3. Install latch bolt as shown on left
4. Secure latch bolt with supplied fasteners / screws

3. LOCK DISASSEMBLY FROM PACKAGING
1. Insert Disassembly Tool into pin hole as shown
while pulling on INSIDE lever
2. Remove all fasteners as indicated

OPTIONAL OUTSIDE LEVER DISASSEMBLY
Should it be required to change lever handing, replace key cylinder or adjust for
door thickness, the OUTSIDE LEVER must be removed
1. Insert key into cylinder and rotate 90° counter clockwise
2. Insert disassembly tool into outside lever pin-hole while pulling on
outside lever
FOR HANDING CHANGE
3. Reverse lever and re-install
FOR CYLINDER REPLACEMENT
3. Replace KIK cylinder and re-insert lever in proper handing
FOR DOOR THICKNESS ADJUSTMENT
IS-5000 Series is designed to t door thicknesses between
1-4/7” (40mm) to 1-7/9” (45mm). The factory default door thickness is
set to 1-7/9” (45mm).
To adjust for thinner door, down to 1-4/7” (40mm):
3. Rotate outside threaded adjustment plate to t proper door thickness
4. Insert lock body chassis through outside trim and re-insert outside lever

PCB CABLE 1. Gently fold PCB Cable against connector and pass
edge of connector through 3/4” hole as shown
2. Insert Motor Cable and Lock Body chassis through
2-1/8” diameter hole
3. Ensure retractor (lock body) and latch are properly
engaged - See View “A”
4. Test assembly by rotating outside lever several times

5. INSTALL INSIDE TRIM
CAUTION: Please follow the step order below, do not skip
to 4. Doing so may cause improper lever rotation if bushing
and inside lever are inserted after fastening inside screws.
1. Insert PCB cable through inside trim plate, adjust inside
trim plate, then fasten with M5 x 1” screws
2. Insert inside plate and fasten two 10-32 UNF 1-3/16”
lock body screws
CAUTION: ensure motor cable is not kinked or
otherwise damaged by the inside plate - see illustration
3. Connect PCB cable and motor cable to inside trim
connector (top side connectors, both cable and trim
connector) is colored for easy insertion
4. Insert inside trim, then insert inside lever with bushing
(don’t fasten the screws without inserting lever and
bushing)
5. Fasten two 10-32 UNF 2” inside trim screws then
fasten two M4 x 1/3” short screws on upper side
6. Check proper assembly by turning lever several times

6. STRIKE INSTALLATION
1. Using latch bolt as reference, align and mark the position of the strike
2. Drill pilot holes for fasteners and mortise cavity as shown
3. Install strike and dust box using supplied fasteners
